Strange tactics to keep buying £100m + forwards and neglect midfield and fullback areas. The lack of a CDM in the last 4 windows and poor full back recruitment is costing the team structure and control of games. We must be the no. 1 target for counter attack strategy. Soon as we lose the ball in the opponent's final 3rd we are done for. It’s nuts.

Whilst we might think it's a necessity, neither of our last 2 managers has traditionally used a CDM. We'd likely be pretty much fine in this position if our current CMs actually followed instructions.

For me, we should use Grav and Macca as a double pivot and make sure they play the role properly. Stick Szobo on the RW because he has no defensive nous and gets in Wirtz's positions when playing centrally.

Not sure how true but Stefan Borson on talkSPORT has just stated that the new consortium had to step in to secure the Barcola deal.

Seems a pretty obvious solution tbh, Johnnyr.
Then again you're asking multi millionaire footballers to try & use an ounce of common sense!

JK23, I read that it was Gordon who had to step in again to secure the deal. But then again, I don't believe Hughes was involved all that much in the first place. Wouldn't surprise me if Gordon had been doing most of the work to secure Barcola actually.

For now Dracred, I put nothing beyond what you have just said.

Who else knows what deals Gordon and Bhattia had to step in to finalise at this point?
