Is it just me or does the clamour by players for the Ballon D'or this year seems to be at an all time high?
Looks like these guys are campaigning to become the president. So political!
The award seems to be losing its appeal as the years go by.

I think the award long lost its appeal when Messi and Ronaldo came about personally.
But I agree, I don't understand what the campaigns are about. Individual awards should not matter this much in what is a team sport. And the Ballon D'or is just a popularity contest held by a magazine anyway.

It's quite nauseating looking at comments from some players (particularly Mbappe) saying they should get the award. Football is supposed ti be a team game, but there's always the prima donnas.
