I'd urge fans to watch old matches. Ones during the Dalglish and Rodgers period. Those teams had less quality than what we have available and they passed the ball a lot better and quicker.
Wirtz, wirtz, wirtz is almost like a psyop at this point. We have multiple first team footballers who are extremely poor passers of the ball. If you cannot consistently pass to a teamate and under no real pressure you shouldn't be wearing the badge never mind of mega bucks wages.
All this other talk is nonsense and we've become completely desensitized to some of the slop served up. I think some of our "top players" Are average footballers.
If you continuously lose possession via poor passes you're not up to this level. It kills momentum and undoes everything andoni wants to achieve on the pitch.
I wish "pundits" Would start putting pressure on certain Liverpool player's who can't pass a ball regularly to team mates.

Not that I would make excuses for any of these very expensive players, but we are transitioning from a completely different risk-averse approach to one that isn't against losing the ball and using that turnover as an opportunity to counterpress. Shedding the former for the new might take longer than anyone is willing to admit.
Wirtz will be allowed to take risks and he will lose the ball in an Iraola system, by design. The key is that the players behind him are tuned in for the counterpress. At the moment, the default habit is to drop off and get back into shape. It will take time to change that habit.

I remember Kenny's second stint and liked the way his team played. He got a lot of the signings wrong, but they play good football.
Liked his interviews as well, even if I didn't understand what he saying.

Exactly, Pelican. This is where I think people do not really understand the no.10 role in terms of creativity or even creative players at all.
Whether it be Wirtz, KDB, Bruno (Utd.) or even Coutinho orTrent via RB, it is perfectly normal for such players who try to create to lose the ball a bunch of times. It is literally what they do because that is the cost of them doing that thing you mentioned as in, "Taking risks". Tehre was a time where KDB and Trent ranked amongst the highest in terms of losing possession high up the pitch.
That is something Klopp and even BR did with Cou and Trent. They allowed them to take risks and got players to cover for them.
So anyone losing their marbles because Wirtz loses the ball a bit too much for your liking, I propose you take a chill pill because that is in their nature.
At that point, you are literally asking a human being not to go hungry.

People well understand players attempting the more risky passes will lose the ball more. Thats fair enough. But at the moment it's simple passes he's making a mess of.

I just saw a clip of klopps team in 2017 (I think it was) with a break from defence, down the left to Mane, firmino then a cross for Can to score. But the football was beautiful, I think it's so easy to forget how good a team we had playing seamless, aggressive football.

Wirtz at his best wont be scoring more than 5 gaols for the season @Oli and that is what people are talking about. That for me is a Flop.
