My honest opinion about yesterday was city were incredibly lucky to get yet another help from the referee (seriously how many times has it happened in their favour now? ) because up until the sending off we were by far the better team.
As much as I'm a fan of wirtz I think he needs a spell on the bench so people forget about him for a while. It might also benefit people to see that Dom doesn't do any better in that role and it's the role that's the problem not the player in it.
The people who say Araujo had a bad game must have watched a different game to me because he had no trouble until the stupid yellow, before that he dominated his side and has every game he's played.
We had no established striker. We don't actually have a right winger at all (though munoz started well and faded) our three most productive players were all ruled out with injury (thanks international break). Keeping that in mind city were not light years ahead of us and without that red I think they probably lose the game.

I wouldn't say we were 'by far' the better team, we definitely were for the first quarter of the game, but City also showed that they could be very dangerous when they could play through the press. That being said, they didn't have any huge chances and we had the more presentable opportunities, so it's fair to say we were the better team.
With Gakpo and Isak on the pitch, we could perhaps have done better. If Koumas puts that chance away, I'm pretty certain we would have gone on to win the game.

Araujo was booked after 8 minutes.

Nah, we were not by far the better team. We were getting better and were in the ascendancy while City looked to be shocked and a bit dazed. Till the ship show happened.

For me, Wirtz just hasn't got the mentality of a player who can self-motivate and adapt, so when you bench him, he won't improve, whereas others would step it up a gear, but hopefully I'm wrong. Grav was fantastic, clearly the stint on the bench worked wonders for him. Hopefully it can do the same for Wirtz because we've run out of excuses for him to be in the starting 11. It's a real shame City are still cheating, and scumbags like Kavanagh have a job because I felt a 1-0 win was on the cards all day.
On the upside, the pressing has definitely improved, we were piling on the pressure in the first 20 odd minutes, had City on the backfoot the entire time. Momentum swung their way until half time but that's to be expected, we were doing well in the second half and unlucky not to get a goal before that c**t with the whictle decided to cheat us out of it.
