I’ve been told from a high up member of staff that all the staff members had a meeting last week with Slot, Hughes and the ceo of Adidas, Hughes said that no one in the club is panicking as they knew this year would be a transition year and they are confident Slot is the right man for the job.

The ceo of adidas said that Liverpool shirt sales rival Real Madrid shirt sales around the world.

Transition year means 11th spot is acceptable?

23 Nov 2025 17:23:57
If he doesn’t transition the midfield and the tactics then it’s only a matter of time before he’ll have to go.

23 Nov 2025 17:29:18
Sounds like BS.

Do adidad run us. Nah. I reckon he's going.

Last year was a transitional year, winning the league in his 1st seasin has not helped Slot at all. More pressure and expectation because of it, means you're under a microscope all the time because of the money spent as well. Especially when you are trying to make the team your own.

I'm not saying things don't need to change or improve because they do. Its up to him to now start showing why the club brought him and currently continue to back him, if he can't and things get worse. The noise is only going to get louder and then the inevitable will happen. We can only wait and see what happens.

{Ed001's Note - pressure and expectation are part and parcel of managing Liverpool, if he can't cope with it, then he is not right for the job.}

23 Nov 2025 17:44:15
Aye it is Ed. I agree and its starting to appear that he can't handle it, there were signs of it last year but I put that down to naivety on his part at the time tbh.

{Ed001's Note - I hope he can turn it around but I see no sign of him understanding the Prem and the need for physicality.}

23 Nov 2025 17:51:13
I know what you mean Ed.

Playing devils advocate. Could a change to the backroom staff e. g. changing say GVB for someone like Gerrard be beneficial in your opinion?

I used Gerrard as the example because he knows what it takes to play in the league but also know what it means to a part of the club. I know he is a devisive figure but he's a far better coach than manager imo.

{Ed001's Note - as a coach Gerrard is very good, I agree, and he would want the players working at a much higher intensity. I can see the appeal in it, but the main problem is still there. I just don't think it goes far enough, though it probably would improve things.}

Exactly Ed. This job is not for everyone. One of the most pressure packed jobs in the world. It takes a very strong person to be able to handle it. I can't think of many who can. People talk about managers from other clubs who would be a good fit, and they might be from a footballing perspective, but the question is do they have the personality, nerve, confidencee (not cockiness), and presence to be able to stand up to the pressure.

There aren't many who can. I'm starting to wonder if Slot can. I'm not sure anymore.

{Ed001's Note - it is looking more and moremlike he can't.}

23 Nov 2025 18:39:58
He has to make changes ed1 or he's just signing his own death warrant. if he can't see the premiership is going more physical than it has been in ages he really will have to go.

Also personal wise need few changes, Gomez needs to start at cb Wednesday nite he can't be any worse than konate and also play chiesa he will give us energy and enthusiasm which is a start.

I think Slot could feel challenged by Stevie's presence, although I would still prefer him as a coach over GVB.

This is a first for Slot, so even with all the research that can be done on him, it is still new territory. Being under pressure at a huge club with major expectations, especially during a crisis, is completely different, and it is the reason many managers and players struggle to make the step up.

I have not enjoyed Slot's excuses or his lack of clear ownership, which has only really become apparent now.

Hearing his famous Feyenoord dressing room speech did not give me confidence. It came across as slightly egocentric and a bit brentish.

I am not convinced he is the man to lead us for the next five to ten years, but that is exactly what we need. We need proper succession planning, just like in the glory days.

Thomas Frank even looks a bit out of his depth at Tottenham who are quite a big club, but he seemed good at Brentford and you’d think he could have made that step. Not many make the move up successfully, or if they have some success they can’t sustain it because the big clubs just keep on spending. Fair play to Arsenal though they’ve got it right eventually.

We’re another level up altogether in terms of pressure and scrutiny than anywhere other than the Manchester clubs and Bayern, Barca, Real, and PSG. Could maybe throw Inter in there as well. Be interesting to see where we go next.

{Ed001's Note - Frank seemed good? He played terrible, thuggish football, all about time wasting, 'tactical' fouls and diving. His play was based around defending deep and hoping for set pieces. I can't believe they appointed him, he is the most un-Spurs like manager I can remember. He is a worse version of Allardyce.}

23 Nov 2025 19:12:18
I have to agree on frank ed1 as the most un spurs manager I think I've ever seen. They dreadful 2day, like a division 3 team playing arsenal.

23 Nov 2025 20:17:49
Spurs are wannabes, they aren’t a big club.

Unsurprising but still pitiful to see Real Madrid’s “tribute”. They really do lack class.

23 Nov 2025 20:21:48
A good coach or manager in the sense he helped keep them in the mid table positions with limited resources. Doesn’t mean they played good football though, or he was suited to spurs.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure he was good, I think their recruitment was the key to it.}

24 Nov 2025 12:39:29
If a manager isn't seeing what is happening after so many defeats its a worry, we play no risk side to side boring football, it rivals Rodgers when he got sack, we have so much talent going forward and he is stifling it, 3 at the Back is our best option, Grav sweeping, 2 uptop, Wirtz doing as he likes behind, play wingbacks as we have fullbacks who are best equipped to play wing back anyway and let Slob an Mac run midfield, i don't get why it is so difficult to see.

24 Nov 2025 13:20:35
It seems a no brainer that we need to Utilise what we have. Wirtz can hold the key playing behind 2 Strikers, Isak could use some help up top and Ekitike simply needs to start. 4-4-2 diamond midfield would suit us well and Salah and Gakpo in our regular formation are not providing for us.

If you’re looking for a former player as an assistant - James Milner is your man.

Brilliant pro, from young breakout teenager to multiple premier league titles, England caps, positional versatility and champions league titles.

He knows the modern game inside out and what it takes for players to make it. He’s a model pro. He can relate to all players.
