If Ibou stays, we don't need him. VVD is fine for another couple of seasons if we can sort the mess around him out. Leoni and Jacquet look promising.

VVD is not fine for another couple of seasons. Have you actually been to a game this season and watched him? He is finished and way past his previous excellent levels.
We need a new established centre back. Guehi was a big miss. I like Maxence Lacroix over Schlotterback though. Even Murillo, I would take over Schlotterback.

I don't think VVD is done just yet. People said that after his ACL and he came back strong. imo, his problem this season is that his attitude is poor and he is taking things a bit too easy. He needs a manager to fire him up.

He has lost pace, and more and more his decisions on the pitch are flawed.

He's done for us, we need new leadership on the pitch, and, when you install a new captain, it's best that the old one leaves. As a centre half, I think he has a couple more seasons in him, and I hope he finds a club where he can pick up a few trophies whilst winding up an extraordinary career. Thanks Virgil, but time to go.

Very hard to be a world class center back when you have no midfield in front of you. Maldini would look bang average in this team at the moment. Buy a decent defensive midfielder, and the whole back 4 look a lot better.

Hellohello is spot on. Midfield has been exposed for ages. As good as VVD's pace was, he's still got the brain, and with decent defenders around him, he'll be sound. It must be like flogging a dead horse, leading that defensive line, and we'd all be frustrated.

Is Virg not one of these players that are only below par this season because of the manager no? Or is it only "some" players that handily fall into that bracket? ? Man is top class, spends half the time babtsitting his CB partner. Vvd isn't the player of 5 years ago but he is still an elite CB.
