Iraola has said himself that we need and are looking at adding to the squad, 'no transfers at all' appears to be the least likely outcome of all.

Shughes55, I was thinking the same... but then, I often think comments on this site do be mixed up... He was possibly replying to a different comment. It's not the easiest of sites to navigate. Some of the long threads, full of nothing comments, do my nut in when you're just on, trying to find a glimmer of info.

It makes sense. If our main targets are World Cup players, we are waiting until later on in the window. Whether it is Barcola, Diomande, or whoever. These guys will be on £200k a week if they sign today and go on a three-week holiday. That's £600k spent for nothing.

It's hard to chill about transfers when the season is a month away and all of our rivals are doing business. I certainly hope there's more going on behind the scenes and moves are made fairly quickly. I would think they would have wanted to put Iraola in the best position possible well before the season starts.

There seemed to be a backlash to my post, which to me makes perfect sense.
We just need to chill, the signings will come when the club and the player are ready.
By the way, I think Barcola will come, and Diamonde still has many twists and turns.
I'm desperate for the club to sign a RB though.

It's frustrating in as much as seeing the teams around us and in direct competition are strengthening. The knock-on effect, i.e. Kroupi gets sold, Bournemouth then have no reason to sell Rayan, or can hold out. The mf from Monaco that's gone to Nufc probably means they don't have to sell Camara, etc. On top of that, watching us do this in seasons passed, let's be honest, last summer was the anomaly, not the norm. We've written off seasons because we haven't bought what we needed when we needed it, or monitored players just to walk away because we don't get into bidding wars.
I can fully understand why fans get annoyed with the lack of business. We need at least 4/5 players, without outgoings, in 5 weeks. I can't see it happening, then we kick the can down the road and still need those signings in the areas we haven't fixed, on top of the likes of VVD, Ali, Endo, Kostas, and whoever else we've allowed to run their contract down. I'm happy we seem to be future proofing with all the kids we're buying, but where's the now proofing?

FYI, if posters get banned (and there's been a few since schools broke up!) the Eds tend to remove their comments. Recently they've mainly been abusing ITK posters.
