ED 001, you said you would ask about Griezmann today. Any luck?

Sly_C

{Ed001's Note - already answered down the page, still waiting on a definite answer but the quick reply was they didn't think so.}

hey eds the guardian and a couple of others reporting on our interest of Xerdan Shaqiri being more serious then thought.

So do we consider him as a second option to lallana or is it something completely unrelated?

Sly_C

{Ed001's Note - hasn't this been dealt with repeatedly already?}

ED, did we ever have a chance in getting Bernard?

That boy is a beast for his age. {Ed002's Note - He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012, but that was pre-Rodgers.}

Eds, is pjanic a possibility at all? how much do you think he would cost if he were to move to another club?

Also, now that mickey has gone and eriksen will most probably not be making a trip to merseyside anytime soon, who is next in line?

Jorginho has been touted but don't know much about the player, is he rated as highly as the rest above? {Ed002's Note - PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic. Spurs are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that is very high. Another English side have also made an enquiry, but it is not Liverpool. He was one of the players being considered by Dortmund as a replacement for Goertze. There has been no interest from Liverpool.}

Hey eds back again with some queries,
1. what's your opinion on milner as a possible first choice LB

2. If we maybe trim the squad more, do you think we have what it takes to compete for it all?

Sly_C

{Ed001's Note - 1. Not good enough to be first choice, he should only be there as injury cover.

2. We have Klopp, so yes I feel we can compete.}

1.) 11 Aug 2016 11:36:46
How many left back posts do you get a day ed001?

How many left back posts do you get a day ed001?

{Ed001's Note - lost count mate, must be 20+.}

3.) 11 Aug 2016 12:12:09

4.) 11 Aug 2016 15:55:33
Are we getting a Left-Back?

Hey ed001, wondering what your opinion is on Coutinho staying on for another season, as i was under the impression that he would look to move on after the final defeat (even though he could have changed the game himself imo)

Sly_C

{Ed001's Note - I am glad he looks to be staying. He is young and inconsistent, but consistency is something players develop with experience. On his day he is a top player and we need more quality, not less. Keeping him is a big boost.}

1.) 09 Aug 2016 07:18:14
He will probably do well with better quality players around rather than the full on reliance on him at the start of previous two seasons.

Although i'm going to stop thinking that this is going to be a big season for Couthinio like the start of every season.

2.) 09 Aug 2016 09:22:32
Would be massive if we hold on to Couts (Barca and PSG), Firmino (City) and Hendo (Spurs) .

We need to somehow make this club attractive enough to our best players for them to want to stay, and then we can build for the future.

3.) 09 Aug 2016 09:32:38
I'm very glad he's stayed and Klopp is right about us needing to keep our best talent. He's got the X factor you need to break down the worlds best defences.

Having said that, I'm still not 100% sure his best position is left wing. He's good enough to play almost anywhere and shine, but for me his best position was at LM in 13/ 14 season in a 4-3-3. From there he could dictate play more and played some incredible passes whereas at LW he's slightly more constrained.

4.) 09 Aug 2016 13:47:42
His best position to me, is on the left wing with a license to roam in-field and set up through balls. This is where he played and shined at Inter before he came to us. He has been tried behind the two strikers and hasn`t been good enuff there, IMO. When he comes in from the wing, the field becomes bigger and there is a wider angled view of the pitch where one can see various options for a pass. He can`t do that from the natural playmaker position which is why he is much better coming in from the left to shoot or slide a pass through. he should stick to that position as that is also the position he plays for Brazil.

5.) 09 Aug 2016 16:21:56
I think Coutinho would be best playing deeper, similar to what Modric does for Madrid. The season where we won the title, he caused havoc playing a bit deeper and not so wide.

I would be tempted to play him in the traditional centre mid spot with a bit of defensive cover/ runners alongside him.

6.) 09 Aug 2016 19:48:51
That`s not a bad idea, JH. Ed actually thinks he`ll be good there.

Hey eds, got a question regarding your opinions on the heirarchy of strikers, I'm guessing Sturridge would be the first choice, but any idea on the rest?

Sly_C

{Ed002's Note - I would not like to say.}

1.) 06 Jul 2016 20:17:02
Sturridge fit and firing is as good as any striker around. However he needs to be just that. I would expect Origi to push him hard for the number one position. Although he is still rough and can be a bit erratic his pace and energy can cause more concern to defences than more polished players like Dan.

Ed002 you said that we have to get international clearance and the paperwork processed so does this mean there is no chance of a possible inclusion for Monday's game?

Sly_C

{Ed002's Note - I am absolutely sick of this stupid question being asked over and over again.}

07 Aug 2014 08:46:41
hey eds, now that Macca has said that kono could be back on. Do you expect the club to dish out the same amount as last time?

Or closer to the lower 12m margin offered by another club recently?

Sly_C

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money - perhaps Macca will be happy to yell you how much Liverpool have offered or will offer for the player.}

Ed001, a sweetener from us or bayern?

Sly_C

{Ed001's Note - Bayern, it is standard practice to get something in return for leaving early when you don't actually want to and could hang on for a huge payday the following summer.}
