Ho ed. Do you know anything about the talks jurgen had with coutinio? And have Barcelona really had talks with coutinio?
Sorry for all the questions, is Can going to go?

Superred91

{Ed002's Note - (a) No. (b) There have been a number of discussions with his agent and Neymar has been talking to the, () Maybe.}

1.) 25 Jul 2017 20:52:09
Don't see Neymar talking as news.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 21:17:31
Id sell coutinio for 50 million. id keep coutinho though.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 20:46:29
Sorry if this is a stupid question ed002, but could that be seen as Barcelona tapping up coutihno.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is Coutinho who has orchestrated this.}

4.) 25 Jul 2017 21:06:15
Cheers ed. Worrying times for the reds. Say they do leave ( think can is going to go ) do you expect klopp to look at players other than kieta and van dyke
Am I the only one ( and juventus ) who can see Can's potential? He is strong, he has a good football mind. He can pass the ball, win the ball. Stop our midfield getting bullied. And score screamers from outside the box and dynamic over head goal to secure our fourth place finish. The guy has got it all. We should do the right thing and offer him a big old contract. He deserves it. He listens ho instructions well too. Can play the part asked of him.
I know you get asked all the time ed but I haven't seen anything about possible signings. Do you know of any players we are interested in? Cheers la.

{Ed002's Note - It is what it is - players are transient - if the go others will likely arrive or youngsters will be given a shot.}

5.) 25 Jul 2017 21:19:05
Genuine question Ed, not a trying to get out of what we've done wrong moment.

Would the club have to go r permission for Barcelona to talk to the agent?

Seems pretty non-sensical that they could be scoping out packages for the player etc.

Almost a fait accompli by the time club gets involved.

{Ed002's Note - There is a word or two missing, byt Barcelona are talking with Liverpool. If they want to talk with the player, then they need the pwermission of the club.}

6.) 26 Jul 2017 08:01:21
Wobsworth why bother mate?
Who cares about spelling and spell check changes.

7.) 26 Jul 2017 03:32:42
We used to give our youngsters mote chances eh. Thanks ed. Owen fowler mcmanaman the list goes on.

Cheers for the reply.

8.) 26 Jul 2017 10:26:40
Super, that was 20 years ago. Football has changed a lot since then.

9.) 26 Jul 2017 13:40:23
Thanks ed002.

Hi eds, hope you're well. Papers saying Barcelona officials have landed in London to try and do a deal for coutinio. Is it definitely Phil they are here for? Could there be anyone else they're after? Hence London rather than liverpool.

Superred91

{Ed002's Note - If they are here it will be in London for Coutinho.}

1.) 25 Jul 2017 13:29:56
Really worried now. Can to Juve, Barcelona in for Coutinho and RBL refusing to sell Keita.
Sensing a panic buying spree by Klopp if this goes on and our top players leave one by one. FSG need to be very firm on keeping them both and adding Keita.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 13:38:26
So are we supposed to believe the papers. or our Manager, who has just told us Coutinho is not for sale and that FSG has no intention of selling him.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 14:09:47
Coutinho only goes if we get Keita.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 14:55:11
Hi eds is there been any bids in for hector Herrera yet? He looks a good replacement for continho if he does leave.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 14:55:11
Hi eds is there been any bids in for hector Herrera yet? He looks a good replacement for continho if he does leave.

{Ed002's Note - I think LFC interest has gone now.}

24 Jul 2017 12:04:22
Morning eds. Do you see us turning our attention to the ox now? I feel he would have a better chance at Liverpool rather than chelsea. I think the fact the league champs are looking at him speaks for itself. The lad is underrated here. Would be a great option to have. Scores goals and makes them.

Superred91

{Ed002's Note - As I have said before I am not sure how Liverpool would look to use him.}

1.) 24 Jul 2017 13:02:53
I agree with ed I wasn't keen on lfc going. For the ox. no place for him. i would take Giroud of there hands thou.

2.) 24 Jul 2017 13:42:30
I agree with Ed, he has no place in our starting 11 and given that his issue is about being a regular starter, it would be pointless coming here as he isn't better than any of our starting 11 in their respective positions.

I don't understand fans shouting that we are not doing enough business this window.

We have broken our club record to sign salah. Doesn't matter if we concede on or two goals coz salah, mani, coutinio, lallana and
firmino/ sturridge are going to be scoring for fun this season. If we scoop vvd and kieta then all the better but we still have a team capable of winning trophies. Since Lucas is gone then our squad is no bigger than it was before.

I feel sure that klopp will sign a defender, might not be vvd though. That mahoud? I think we might give up on vvd. Yeah, thumbs down but I'm being realistic. Southampton don't wanna sell to us. We shall see. I certainly would like us to get him.

Cannot wait to see us balanced with left winger and full back. Liverpool from both sides this time. Watch out!

1.) 19 Jul 2017 06:14:34
Without Salah, it's the same side as last season - which struggled to break down any side that parked the bus. What do you know that's different for next season?

I'd like to see a few different formations and tactics next season when this happens.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 06:42:13
We struggled to break teams down when Mane was injured.
I think that's why Salah has been brought in, that extra option of direct pace to shift defenses about when they are parking the bus.
Or maybe Klopp has watched our Suarez Sterling Sturridge season and will try to play on the counter a bit more, that was when we we were most successful recently.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 07:05:04
We don't have a team capable of winning trophies and that was evident last season! We did not win anything and got dumped out in both cup competitions! Coutinho and Mane would get injured anytime during next season and we would go back to usual sideways and backwards passing!

4.) 19 Jul 2017 07:18:20
There's no need for different tactics or formations Max Renn. All that is required to break down a stubborn side is movement both of the ball and the players themselves. Right now our transition takes too long, defences have time to reset themselves. Adding Salah alongside Mane will mean that there is always that chance of bursting past the first defender and forcing another defender to cover. That's the space we need to operate in. And although it's a big IF, do note Sturridge is now beginning to sprint as he did when Suarez was around. I'm confident we'll see a more dynamic side this season if the first teamers stay fit.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 07:46:34
Naby mate we do have a team capable of winning trophies, last season, sure we could've done better but to me getting back in the CL was a great achievement alone, that'll do me, this season I expect a trophy and we are more then capable of grabbing one.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 09:17:47
And last season Chelsea were the same team as 2015/ 16 with Kante.
Yet they went from 10th to champions.

It's not all about signing new players.

7.) 19 Jul 2017 10:11:51
@Ton

It is. They signed Kante! And He on his own could win the league which he did at both Leicester and Chelsea. Proof of Leicester going down relegation after his sale!

8.) 19 Jul 2017 12:40:33
One player doesn't make a team Harry.

{Ed025's Note - suarez did teabag..

9.) 19 Jul 2017 12:40:54
So we might as well all pack up until Kante retires if he can win the league on his own.

Total nonsense!

10.) 19 Jul 2017 15:16:41
Suarez also had Sturridge and Sterling on fire that year though ed25 mate, Suarez was hands down the best and without him we wouldn't of got close to second but he wasn't alone mate.

{Ed025's Note - for me teabag studge and raheem were afforded lots of room to perform because of suarez, he was the focal point and dragged the rest of the team with him, of course thats just my view mate..

Been reading the aguero is being allowed to leave city, I can only assume they have their sights on someone to play up front. Whoever it is must be good as Sergio has been one of best strikers in the league constantly for years. I feel he would work well at Liverpool, has his name been mentioned at all? If he's willing to go to Chelsea he would surely be willing to join us.

Superred91

1.) 17 Jul 2017 14:50:31
His fee, wages and injury problems would warn me off him. Absolutely class when fit though.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 14:57:05
We already have two injury prone stikers we don't need 3.

3.) 17 Jul 2017 15:00:11
Personally, I do not think he would suit our style. He couldn't cope with high press and does not work hard enough. Plus we could never afford his wages.

4.) 17 Jul 2017 15:30:40
I'm pretty certain they said he wasn't available and will be staying at City.

5.) 17 Jul 2017 16:33:29
He is too good but doesn't suit Klopp's style of play unfortunately.

Cheers.

6.) 17 Jul 2017 17:21:57
Aguero would be an unbelievable signing for us.

It can't be true. That would be some first team squad. Too good to be true.

Carlsberg don't do transfer windows.

7.) 17 Jul 2017 19:21:49
For the money the whole package would cost as in transfer fee, wages, signing on fee, agent fees etc would be a huge financial package. You could probably get Mbappe for less in terms of financial package and a lot younger than Aguero.

Obviously I don't expect either to sign.

13 Jul 2017 16:02:34
Just heard dean Saunders is saying we should sign giroue. I hope this doesn't happen. Surely he is too lazy to play for klopps liverpool.

Superred91

1.) 13 Jul 2017 23:33:23
Dean Saunders? Sorry but he may have an opinion but Giroud, the guy who spent a good chunk of last season on the bench? No thanks.

Ah cool ed sorry dude. Would be amazing signing eh!

Been on here lately all doom and gloom but after thinking clearly about the situation AS IT STANDS, we have lost only one player (whom we were happy to let go) who can make the team sheet and we have signed 3 players who can make the team sheet.

Our squad is stronger and fuller and more top heavy than last year. Salah will torment defences this year I'm sure. Good window
Anything more will be gravy.

Ed why does arsenal seem possible but not us? We are in ucl they in europa league. I agree with a post you replied to a while back (may have been the other ed) saying we need a proper goal scorer to finish all the chances our midfield create. Love ds and firmino. I hope they are on team sheet a lot but ds gets injured, firmino works so hard to create opportunities but when he has a chance I don't feel that he is going to bury it every time. Benzema would be amazing! And why not? Player getting on a bit but still has plenty to offer, I think we are perfect for him. Still one of the massive clubs of the world, in Europe hoping to win league. It would certainly sooth the pain of coutinio if he goes.

I know he can be a lazy player and is clearly not a popular choice here. But under klopp his work rate could go up, no will go up. He has a sweet left foot and that can't be denied.

I had this weird feeling, I think it was the way Danny murphy was talking about mahrez on match of the day and I said to my mate. "mahrez will be a liverpool player next season" he would be sweet little addition. We need to keep hold of can
ThING that worry me about coutinio and Barcelona is the fact that he was their second choice so if he waits a year they may land their first choice and he misses out on Barcelona move. For that reason I think he will go this year. Sadly.
