Apparently Nunēz is a doubt for Sunday as he has a foot injury.

Is that the narrative now. he had a foot injury and that's why he hit the post 4 times.

Relax peeps. just a little joke to set the mood for Arsenal.

My theory is that Bielsa has told him to ‘aim for the back post’, which he’s taken too literally. A bit of fine tuning at the next training session and he’ll be hitting the back of the net soon.

This whole thread is funny. I hope he hits the bar again so people keep chatting nonsense. He gets involved in goal actions every single game. Let the haters hate.

He’s a forward, he wants to score. He has the good fortune that the team and him in other aspects of his game, are playing well so him missed opportunities aren’t costing us.

Maybe they have now straightened his foot and goes on to score 30 more goals.

Nunez is the most exciting player in the league.
Nobody comes close to him.
Just need him to put these chances away.

His foot looked pretty good when he made that inch perfect pass for Diaz to score….

For me, Nunez is an absolutely phenomenal player. Man with an iron will, because no matter how many times he hits the woodwork or misses, he just gets back at it and never let's his head down. That means a lot in this game; self-confidence and self belief. He could have easily walked off with a hat trick after that game. I remember when Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling went through the same exact thing that one season where they found the woodwork more often than not, that one particular season. Next season it was fine and never to be mentioned again. The same will happen with Nunez; no doubts about it.

I agree with that ArAy. I remember people saying Suarez wasn’t a natural finisher and that he was trying to be too precise with his finishing so hitting the woodwork a lot. Nunez is the same, it will come.

hoping that this is a bad rumour but I got a text message saying that Dom Szlob didn't travel with the team to London today.

Groundsmen still picking up splinters. Hopefully he gets his reward in London today.

@1jj, perhaps he should pretend he’s passing the ball into the net?

Apparently, nobody in the PL had hit the woodwork 4 times in one match before. I understand Klopp saying that he didn’t hide when he kept missing and that he set up the goal that killed the game off and that Darwin played through pain and stuff. But I still don’t get that if he played on and had enough strength to hit the woodwork four times he must have had the capability to take half a second to compose himself and actually hit the target.

I get that he is a threat to opposition teams but I also think that his goals to shots ratio needs significant improvement. The lad is clearly on his way to being very popular with the fans (I think the term is ‘legend’ these days) but for me there’s still something missing.

@Becker’s, there is always a chance that “people saying” about Suarez might just have been a load of rubbish though ?.
