Would Mbappe expect to start or would he be a squad player at LFC?

Tommy Gunn

1.) 29 Jul 2023 23:52:23
Already told everyone we are loaning him out to a Championship side.

so he joins us on-loan, and then loan out. ha, that's the plan.

2.) 30 Jul 2023 01:05:49
He’d have to earn a starting place obviously.

3.) 30 Jul 2023 01:35:26
Well time will tell. he's never won the europa league so let's see him win it with us then if he wants to leave and be a charlie big potato we give him a tour of the cavern.

4.) 30 Jul 2023 08:17:09
How long until people ask if we can play mbappe as a 10.

{Ed025's Note - i think he will partner VVD in defence faith and expect Maradona to get the number 10 shirt mate..

5.) 30 Jul 2023 08:37:28
Wow
We are capable of some real magic if we can get Maradona playing 10

Football avatars here we come….

6.) 30 Jul 2023 12:20:31
Mbappe would be a hologram cos this ain't happening.

16 Aug 2021 10:52:10
Would really be pleased if the links with LFC and Harvey Barnes at Leicester prove correct.

He could be a brilliant signing for us.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 16 Aug 2021 11:21:10
He has just signed a new contract. I think that will end that interest for a while.

2.) 16 Aug 2021 11:32:28
He would cost a LOT of money and Leicester don’t need to sell, but still, a million miles better than Traore.

3.) 16 Aug 2021 11:56:13
Click bait vs Ed002. I know where my trust lies.

4.) 16 Aug 2021 12:36:18
We like Barnes. That doesn't mean we are pursuing him. We like a lot of players.

5.) 16 Aug 2021 17:53:20
A lot of folks struggle to make that distinction though.

03 Jan 2020 11:02:11
Bernie Kane to Hull on loan it seems.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 03 Jan 2020 11:29:24
Love autocorrect! It’s Herbie who has gone to Hull

Maybe a belated thank you for the Robbo transfer.

{Ed001's Note - but what's Bernie doing then?}

2.) 03 Jan 2020 11:42:49
I spent the weekend at Bernies and he was on top form, pulling all sorts of shapes on the dance floor.

3.) 05 Jan 2020 23:06:31
Bernie Kane is part of an international conglomerate along with Ken Aguero looking to copy Beckham’s model. They’re rumoured to be setting up a football club called Inter Jaywick Sands. lads.

4.) 06 Jan 2020 02:57:08
Dont Hull already have an abundance of young midfielders? I wonder if Klopp has sanctioned this to give Herbie some competition and not make it too easy for him?

22 Nov 2018 21:02:03
Mane signed new long term contract. Reported on LFC TV

Happy days.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 22 Nov 2018 21:18:38
Great news, I love Mane I think he's one of the loyal ones. As we all know, contracts these days don't mean a great deal but with Mane I see him stopping here for a very long time.

2.) 22 Nov 2018 22:38:16
Fantastic news!

3.) 23 Nov 2018 00:48:02
Everyone can just relax now so! great news.

4.) 23 Nov 2018 06:36:21
I was never worried. Great news though.

5.) 23 Nov 2018 13:07:17
How much mane is he on now.

6.) 24 Nov 2018 12:28:11
Has he actually signed now?
Last i read he had agreed new terms.

The Man Citeh thing has pretty much ruined the EPL.

Whatever happens now the whole thing over the last ten years or so it tainted.

We all suspected that there was financial doping going on.

They have "allegedly" been cheating on an industrial scale.

What is the bloody point of the EPL?

It's just busted and almost meaningless.

No doubt it will drag on for months and goodness knows whether they will be found guilty and suffer a proper punishment.

If Pep was innocent in all of it he should walk now.

Rubbish season just got worse!

Is any professional sport worth following these days?

Tommy Gunn

1.) 07 Feb 2023 19:51:47
I feel your descern Tommy lad and it just shows how useless UEFA and FIFA are if allowing this to happen in English sport for financial gain.

2.) 07 Feb 2023 19:56:45
Nothing will happen ? relax Tom. Somebody somewhere wants some of that Saudi Money, and they do not give a tozz about “punishing” Man City other than money related.
On the other point, I’ve never really got the premier league hype anyway mate. The European Cup is miles better. Old big ears dwarfs the lot in my eyes.

3.) 07 Feb 2023 20:05:01
The FA UEFA and FIFA are more bent than an arabs dagger!

4.) 07 Feb 2023 20:21:13
The worst thing about this is all teams that have been effected by all these financial dealings IF CHARGES PROVE CORRECT.
Everton+Newcastle probably missing out champ league, teams relegated, teams missing out on europe etc. Biggest loser will be ourselves, great shame that our team between 18-22 will never be really recognised as great a team as they should be.3 leagues titles out of 4.the years that we went to 97+92 points, any year with that total you win league easing up, we could've rested key men in league games for champ league games. Whose to say we wouldn't have won another champ league. last season the quadruple which would've cemented team as best ever. I suppose all hypothetical now.

{Ed002's Note - You are making this nonsense up - it is getting really embarrasssing.}

5.) 07 Feb 2023 21:13:20
Not sure how the PL is affected cos one club gets done for cheating and falsifying financial records, if found guilty. Football is going to continue and life will go on regardless of what happens so don’t really understand your logic.

6.) 07 Feb 2023 21:42:22
Imagine an athlete on drugs who wins a medal … and you come second or third to him…. how do you feel when you find out the guy cheated?

Sport has to be governed by rules and if the rules are broken by a competitor to a significant degree then the whole thing really becomes meaningless in a sporting sense.

7.) 07 Feb 2023 23:05:23
Feel the same @Tomny Gunn. Have felt like it for a while. It's not just City, this is just another in a long line of things that puts me off. It's all about squeezing as much money out of every possible orifice. I stopped going to the game this past year and I don't really miss it.
That's not because of our recent form, it's the whole business. The overpriced hotels, the games constantly changing times and the general lack of care for the fans.

I can't see it getting any better, and it's not like it's any easier to watch from home. We have Sky and Bt but still can't watch all of the games.
Football will eat itself.

8.) 08 Feb 2023 00:06:44
Maybe this is the beginning of many things coming out. I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I find it very interesting that the only top European league not done for match fixing is the premier league. I should add- don’t think any premier league team is throwing games. I just think there are (betting) elements that could be looked at with scrutiny. I just think anything as massive as the premier league is not going to be open to manipulation.

9.) 08 Feb 2023 00:54:18
Honestly I'm kind of getting sick of hearing about "cheating". If they had been paying off refs or paying off opposition or using performance-enhancing drugs then fine. But they were fiddling the books. That's breaking the rules, not cheating in a sporting sense. You can't take away the achievements of those athletes and coaching staff over the last decade because they earned them. It doesn't take away from the fact they have played some truly scintillating football over the last few years. And it doesn't take away from the fact that each time they beat us to the league, there was a better team out there. The sporting achievement is still the same. What they chose to disclose in their finances doesn't detract from that.

{Ed001's Note - breaking the rules is cheating. They had players there simply because they cheated to acquire them so yes you can strip them of titles as they did not earn them. They cheated to acquire them.}

10.) 08 Feb 2023 02:03:45
@aoe, an interesting point you brought up. Just my thoughts on the matter, I think match fixing is rare in the EPL because all the clubs are rich. They would need to be paid a hefty amount for them to even consider to fix matches and that does not make it worth it for match fixers. Smaller clubs in other countries are noticeably less wealthy and that makes them easier targets for match fixing.

11.) 08 Feb 2023 02:40:00
100%, Ed001. Take a look at City’s squad in 2018/ 19, the season following on from the last of the current charges. The sheer number of elite players was absolutely absurd, and unquestionably enabled through illegitimate financing. If found guilty, City simply have to be stripped of those titles. No other punishment, even relegation would be justified.

12.) 08 Feb 2023 06:10:53
Drafted wins worst take award…
Breaking the rules is being offside. Diving is cheating
Spending more than allowed is breaking the rules. Hiding that fact is cheating.

Anyways I don’t like the olympics analogy. Cos in that one you know that the cheating athlete shouldn’t have been competing so you can then assume that they weren’t there so you pawn off the medals to other athletes. Whereas in this case, City would still be there, perhaps not quite as our of this world good, but you can’t assume that they’d suddenly become a mid-table team if they weren’t cheating.

{Ed001's Note - but if those athletes were not there, USA for example, would have someone other than Carl Lewis competing and so might still have won medals. So it is a closer analogy than you realise.}

13.) 08 Feb 2023 07:29:23
Dracred. A fair point. I don’t actually think it’s the clubs doing it mate. I’m talking about the possibility of officials.

14.) 08 Feb 2023 07:44:02
Jesus, just think, if this is true Jurgen will look like a saint compared to what City have been getting up to. That would be City of Ed002s Christmas Card list ??.

15.) 08 Feb 2023 08:16:38
@aoe: I didn't see it that way, my bad. Tbf, the officials in the epl are so incompetent, I'm even sure they can fix matches!

16.) 08 Feb 2023 08:40:55
Kompany’s comments this morning are just so dumb. Basically saying “people in glass houses” and pointing the finger at every other club in the league, while saying “football shouldn’t point too many fingers”.

17.) 08 Feb 2023 09:36:02
Blimin’ page just auto reloaded in the middle of an extended reply. Grrr.

The gist…

Absolutely nothing will come of it.

18.) 08 Feb 2023 10:34:15
I can’t see anything coming of it either. City will have the best legal team money can buy. Also they don’t need to do anything underhanded now because they can sell players for big money and buy new ones, without pouring in billions. They got here by cheating but now they’re on top it will be very difficult to bring them down.

Chelsea basically started it they had a £1.5bn rolling debt to the Russian’s. Now they’ve found another way to get round it. £700m spent in 6 months, that’s not sport.

We are not whiter than white of course but meeting VVD on the waltzes is not the same.

19.) 08 Feb 2023 10:39:21
Hopefully City are docked 20 points this season. That means we go from 10th to 9th.

20.) 08 Feb 2023 10:59:39
Nothing will likely happen that will have any tangible affect on us or benefit us in any way. We’re just as well to focus on ourselves and getting to the end of this catastrophe of a season. The only take out we’ve got from this is some schadenfreude if City are penalised severely, but let’s be honest, it’s most likely to be a slap on the wrist with no actual penalties. Just tough talk and posturing from the PL.

21.) 08 Feb 2023 02:09:01
Nevermind that ridiculous little club is that a new thumbs up icon for the eds? Just noticed it, how long has this been going on? I'm startled and slightly concerned, I won't sleep now, had to press it though, looks a bit matey, I'm not sure maybe it'll grow on me . maybe.

{Ed033's Note - Yes, new thumbs up just to thumb up an Ed's Note.

22.) 08 Feb 2023 11:26:35
If nothing happens then the Premier League and the officials running it will have a huge credibility problem. They simply will never be taken seriously again.

If Kompany says all the clubs do it, where is the evidence? Where are the facts that show other clubs have bought players beyond their means under FPP? Why is it only ManCity in the Premier League that gets caught at it, then?

23.) 08 Feb 2023 11:26:35

{Ed002's Note - The decision is not in the hands of the Premier League.}

24.) 08 Feb 2023 13:07:48
what happened, the local post office run out of brown envelopes then, had to happen, using so many ha .

25.) 08 Feb 2023 15:02:04
So ed2, have city cheated or not?

{Ed002's Note - I would get away from the word "cheated" as such, but the independent commission will look at each of the charges (which in the main relate to financial irregularities) and (eventually) make a finding based on the evidence already provided, discussions and any new evidence that comes to hand. They will decide the punishment, if any, and any further recommendations which they wish to make to the Premier League.}

26.) 08 Feb 2023 18:09:56
If you ain’t following the rules as they are set then, you’re cheating. The End.

27.) 08 Feb 2023 22:00:41
Ffp needs to be adhered to work

Basically city are signing on and working at the same time
How can another team that are doing one or the other compete financially.

The truth is they can’t .

I really think nothing g will happen as money talks and city have lots of it .

28.) 10 Feb 2023 08:59:17
will the independent hearing release parts of the investigation kinda like how the January 6 investigations did? lol some of those were hilarious, but also cool to see what the evidence was to make their case.

{Ed002's Note - No. The reason is as demonstrated in the posts on the Liverpool page that there is a clear lack of understanding about what the punishments coiuld be and the impact of those punishments and a continued misunderstanding about all matters financial.}

05 Jul 2022 20:21:44
James Milner won the lactate test again.7 years in a row. Joe Gomez came second apparently

Millie is a machine.

Klopp looked on and just said WOW.

Great stuff.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 05 Jul 2022 21:14:29
Once Henderson eventually retires, I think Millie should be offered full time captaincy.

2.) 05 Jul 2022 21:28:04
That report is from last season mate. It circulated yesterday and then went onto say that they hadn’t done the lactate test yet this season as it was the first day back. If they did it today and he won it then it’ll be 8 years in a row.

It was actually very interesting reading what the teat was yesterday. After each run over a varied distance they take blood from the ear and if the lactate is too high then they get pulled out. And it’s literally last man standing.

3.) 05 Jul 2022 21:43:56
Hello KR, I have a very strong feeling that when Jurgen sadly retires that James Milner will be the next LFC manager, Jurgen has been quoted in this comment, when he first arrived at the club, hence a new contract again, he's learning his future trade daily under Jurgen, the change over will be similar to Paisley/ Dalglish phase for a couple of years i. e. Klopp/ Milner (has the CV he just needs hands on till adequate)

4.) 05 Jul 2022 22:10:27
Just because your the fittest man on the team doesn’t mean your brain is as fit! Kudos to milly keeping fit tho the guy is solid.

5.) 05 Jul 2022 22:20:19
Further to the above, i have on my mobile phone footage of the world club final in Qatar, of my Cousin (his mother and my mother were Sisters) on the pitch in the huddle at full time.

Jurgen has programmed by himself his own football computer programs with regard to training, scouting, buying new players and a computer program for premier, cup games and euro games analysis.

When he runs up the tunnel at half time in matches, his computer program ( of the first half) is turned onto a USB stick that he puts into a TV in the dressing room and the
players are shown dangers, benefits, advantages etc.

He is the proverbial modern day computer led manager.

6.) 05 Jul 2022 23:35:59
Our manager is a software guru as well?
He kept that quiet.

7.) 05 Jul 2022 23:47:39
First the OP refers to lactate and then JK starts talking about his interest in the teat.

What has this site come to?!?!

8.) 06 Jul 2022 04:07:30
I reckon Milner will be pushed further forward once Elliott and Carvalho retire.

9.) 06 Jul 2022 04:54:34
007, can I have your dealers number please mate?

10.) 06 Jul 2022 07:35:05
My moobs are so big I'm lactating.

11.) 06 Jul 2022 08:41:50
Hello MartyMcfly1, when i had a recent tour of the stadium, the tour guide related to the group what happened at half time with regard to the USB stick being inserted into the TV (no rude replies please! ) It's common Knowledge at Anfield, among the tour guides.

{Ed001's Note - I would think around 90% of clubs do that now in the top flights around Europe. It is not really a new thing and it is the reason why you see so many coaches on the sidelines with iPads.}

12.) 06 Jul 2022 09:03:10
The year is 2040.

Liverpool manager Trent Alexander-Arnols brings on James Milner to see out the last 5 minutes.

13.) 06 Jul 2022 10:25:20
I actually think that when Milner's playing career finally comes to an end (when he fails to win the beep test) he will become our next manager. I don't expect that to be until at least the second part of this century!

14.) 06 Jul 2022 11:56:39
Could Millie become player manager after Klopp finishes when he completes the 4 year extension to his next contract that he will sign in 2029?

15.) 06 Jul 2022 13:08:14
Real optimistic but I believe Klopp will leave in 2030. Was expecting 2025. Happily the fairytale continues.

16.) 06 Jul 2022 18:01:23
Just think how good Milner will be when he Hits his prime.

16 Aug 2021 13:33:11
Happy that VAR didn't come crashing into the games this week and cause delays and controversy.

They might have got it sorted out hopefully.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 16 Aug 2021 15:05:50
Also it was great to see referees not blow up for every single tackle or bit of physicality.

2.) 16 Aug 2021 15:52:37
Give it a few more weeks.

3.) 16 Aug 2021 16:25:14
Huge that jk23, football so unwatchable last season I only watched liverpool, but with the fans back and refs letting things go just a little bit the games have been actually enjoyable!

4.) 16 Aug 2021 16:37:31
Was nice to see a bit of physicality and the refs allowing it. Might stop the play acting from various players (grealish) and allow the game to flow.

5.) 16 Aug 2021 23:58:17
Now that you mention. Football is actually fun to watch again w/ o VAR and refs interfering. I remember there was an offside decision early in the game that the Asst raised his flag early, which I felt weird after being conditioned to have the flag go up super later since VAR. But as it the game went along and flowed, it felt really nice. And not having VAR check any of our goals made the experience even better. Ball’s in the net, celebrate wildly, end off. No fear of it suddenly being chalked off 1 min later and not knowing why.

31 Jul 2020 09:10:45
Peter Moore leaving LFC

Thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes.

One of the people responsible for our current success.

Very best wishes for the future.

YNWA.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 31 Jul 2020 09:56:47
He was very very good at his job and provided leadership and a positive public face for the club. The way he cut idiots down was almost Ed002 style.

2.) 31 Jul 2020 11:49:55
All the best, Peter. Thanks for all your help and commitment to our success.

29 Dec 2019 15:23:41
With Haaland going to Dortmund does that mean Sancho is on the move in January?

Tommy Gunn

{Ed002's Note - He will certainly be leaving at some point.}

1.) 29 Dec 2019 16:08:11
Do we really need him where would he play and who do you drop for him.

2.) 29 Dec 2019 18:43:09
We have Salah and have just signed Minamino - Sancho is not coming to us. Given his cost I would guess they'll only be a few teams a) able to afford him and b) actually wanting him. Seems like he has some baggage as well, so could problematic as well as expensive for whoever signs him.

3.) 29 Dec 2019 18:56:58
I don’t even want him.

4.) 29 Dec 2019 19:20:21
Seano on this same board I heard that exact comment about mane
so don't believe everything you hear or read.

5.) 29 Dec 2019 21:07:47
Sancho is a luxury we CANNOT afford esp. if Salah and Mane are still here next season. I love the kid and think he is the real deal BUT we don't need him if our fron three is intact next season. Just my opinion.

6.) 30 Dec 2019 04:56:44
Mane was considerably cheaper thus the gamble on his character was not as high. Sancho could go for 100mil+, I don't see the risk/ reward being favourable at that price.

Maybe technically okay for the job but Nagelsmann maybe not suited temperamentally…. don’t know if LFC fans would take to him. Tough to come in after Klopp.

If we can’t get Xabi I wouldn’t mind if Pep had a go…. My thinking there would be that if it was a success then great and if not Klopp might come back after a year off recharging his batteries.

That shows why England will never win a trophy…. Pickford Maguire and their clueless manager, Southgate. Shockingly bad.

Then add the ludicrously overhyped Rashford and you will have Bellingham wishing he was born in Madrid rather than the Midlands.

Think Jurgen will have an extended holiday then maybe take German National job…. Outside bet he goes to Bayern

What he should do though is leave LFC at the end of the season, spend a month in Majorca, come back in August to LFC as director of football and welcome Xabi Alonso as new manager.

Maybe Jurgen should be invited onto board at FSG with remit to oversea its football investments?
