I saw a comment on Instagram a couple weeks ago that Diaz should go on loan for 6 months to regain his form. I don't think it's ever been more apparent to me that social media is not the place for intelligent conversation. Glad he seems to be getting back to form.

Oli we had people on this very site saying it hadn’t worked out with Diaz and we should look to sell if we can get a decent price.

Some people have such short memories and if a player has a few bad games they want to get rid. It’s crazy times we live in I tell you!

I love the guy he’s integral to what we do when the team is playing well.

Still not looking as good as he did pre injury and does seem to have lost half a yard. Think it could suit him Salah being away though and having a bit more of a free role, seems to be an emotional player who plays better the more of the ball he has.

Last time I heard the standard is do it consistently, I want diaz to succeed but he has to do it every game this is the standards mane and salah have set . League and Cup winning standards.

Agreed Hailstones. I was one of those pondering whether or not he was truly good enough to be a nailed on starter in this team as I still don't think his goal/ assist contribution is that great. Has he just had a couple of good games - yes, am I 100% convinced that we have a player as good as, say, Salah or peak Mane - no, not yet.

@IR, that is true however, NOBODY is asking (nor has asked) for the manager to be sacked IF he does not employ the tactics they want. You would be wise to recognise the difference here BUT that ship may have already sailed.

Hailstones, all we are saying is that Diaz is getting back to his best. Nobody has said he is consistently performing already so the "consistency" standard is not apt here as he is just getting back to his best of late. At least, not yet IMO.

We are all just happy about him getting back slowly but surely to his best after the extremely harrowing experience he and his family went through (as well as the bad injuries as well) which a lot of people (not you, of course) seem to frivolously underestimate or even dismiss. Like I said, long may his upward trajectory continue.

I would just like to remind all of the Diaz critics that he has recently had to deal with the trauma of his mum and dad being kidnapped, I don't know about you all, but something like that would certainly play on my mind and distract me from giving my best.
That said I do think that he is over it now and getting back to his best.
