Kenny Dagleish has tweeted that we ARE signing Jude in the summer. That will do for me.

langland

1.) 20 Mar 2023 20:17:19
No idea who he is but what Sir Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish MBE says is what we are more interested in hearing.

2.) 20 Mar 2023 20:28:46
KK for short.

3.) 20 Mar 2023 20:45:38
What does Iain Rush have to say?

4.) 20 Mar 2023 21:05:02
And why would Dalgleish do that when there is no deal in place? Assume you’re being funny.

5.) 20 Mar 2023 21:33:11
The Athletic article seems to be classic clickbait - three clubs in the running, but two have more money than the other one and that might play a part in any potential decision. Nothing new or earth shattering here. I for one still expect us to complete the signing. They know Liverpool fans will fervently jump all over this and are taking advantage of that fact in my opinion.

6.) 20 Mar 2023 21:55:38
That's very, very skeptical as Sir Kenny would always respect the old Liverpool way of keeping it in house, and would no way undermine Jurgen's position at the club, as it's Jurgens's privilege to be the first to announce new signings.

utter conjecture! ( plus the fact as a poster above has replied, the OP has spelt Sir Kenny's surname incorrectly to start with)

Pull the other one it has bells on it!

7.) 20 Mar 2023 23:21:54
Sir Kenny Dalglish and The Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand are not the same thing. One is Sir Kenny Dalglish and the other is a Twitter account named after a stand named after Sir Kenny Dalglish.

8.) 21 Mar 2023 06:51:40
Kenny Dalglish has literally not tweeted this. Does anyone seriously believe that FSG are going to sanction spending of £250m+ without there being substantial sales to counter it? Because that just isn’t happening.

9.) 21 Mar 2023 21:16:14
Maybe they’ll get it from the same place they got the money to buy Nunez, Gakpo etc.?

12 Apr 2021 21:12:29
Did anyone else read in the Daily Mail that PSG have spoken to Salah about joining them in the summer.
Isn't this an illegal approach?

langland

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that they are one of the clubs his agent has been talking to. Not the player.}

1.) 13 Apr 2021 00:17:44
Salah is probably in the top 5, definitely in the top 10 forwards in world football. He seems to be getting better as well. He's well on course for a good 32-35 goals this season again. I don't think Salah will leave anyway. I think the big clubs will have their eyes on the likes of Mbappe, Haaland and Sancho with them being 6-8 years younger. In the current climate who can afford and is willing to pay the fee and wages for Salah? He'll be the best part of a €400m investment over a 5 year contract.

{Ed0666's Note - 32-35 goals???? Are you joking scouser??!

2.) 13 Apr 2021 02:47:30
Salah already has 28 goals and still has a minimum of 8 games left to play, he should get to 32 goals easily.

3.) 13 Apr 2021 03:20:08
Salah already has 26 goals in all competitions. I think he will score atleast 4 more to make it 30.

{Ed077's Note - I think he has 28 goals and 4 assists in all comp.

4.) 13 Apr 2021 03:26:40
Well PSG can get lost. If they want a forward, they can have Origi, Mane or Bobby.
Losing Salah would be a disaster. Tie him up to a new contract and make sure he stays put for a while.

5.) 13 Apr 2021 07:15:05
Farmers league.

6.) 13 Apr 2021 09:50:51
This is the perfect time to sell Salah, and bring in someone younger.

If he hits the skids next year like Mane has doner, he will be a 30 year-old who who will not fetch a large transfer fee.

But there are very few potential buyers for him. Probably only 4 or 5 clubs around Europe could pay him the wages he will be looking for.

7.) 13 Apr 2021 10:05:51
And Salah is short. That's why he's so good.

8.) 13 Apr 2021 11:20:37
Ed0666 he has 28 already. 7 league games and at least 1 Champions League game is more than enough for him to get 4-7 goals in my opinion.

{Ed0666's Note - sorry mate I had a brain fart was thinking of another striker.

22 Feb 2021 13:55:08
Hi Eds
Have we shown any interest in Andre Silva of Frankfurt?
I just found out a very interesting link that he has with LFC?

langland

{Ed002's Note - No. Andre Silva (S) was recommended to several clubs, certainly including Everton, Wolves and Manchester United, by a very high-end independent scout who used to play in the Premier League. This dates back to last summer before his loan became a permanent move. Atletico Madrid have declared an interest.}

1.) 22 Feb 2021 20:25:13
Shame, he looks as good as his brother.
Diogo Jota.

2.) 23 Feb 2021 01:57:03
Pretty certain the Andre Silva of frankfurt is no Diego Jota's brother. His brother, also named Andre Silva, plays for Boavista and is 5 years younger than the one who plays for Frankfurt.

{Ed077's Note - you are correct👍

3.) 24 Feb 2021 18:15:33
Just want to say welcome to Ed077, I was a bit dubious when I saw that he was a Penalty United fan, but I am happy to give him a 3 months trial.

{Ed077's Note - VARhester United sounds more natural to me🤣

And thanks Langland. Let's hope I get a long term deal after the trials and don't get rejected for some weird reason like Mbappe at Chelsea}

01 Feb 2021 21:19:01
Hey Eds
Heard anything about Minamino to Southampton on loan?

langland

{Ed002's Note - I know they were offered him and it would likely do him good.}

21 Jan 2018 17:51:50
Express reporting that Tony Kroos wants to work with Klopp.

Maybe wants to start a specialist boating and horse riding company - Kroos and Klopp.

langland

1.) 21 Jan 2018 18:11:31
The express have reported some daft stories this window.

2.) 21 Jan 2018 18:42:47
Express just prints garbage on the front, back and middle pages. If it’s not immigrants, it’s princess Diana or statins.

3.) 21 Jan 2018 18:44:11
The Express, says it all, don't believe a word .

4.) 21 Jan 2018 21:43:02
They took the quotes out of context. It came from Don Ballon, but what the express forgot to mention is that Kroos was urging Klopp to join him at Real Madrid, not issuing a come get me plea 😂.

5.) 21 Jan 2018 23:12:05
The only use for the express is if you run out of toilet paper. Same goes for Don Balon.

6.) 22 Jan 2018 16:50:09
You are right MK haha
Im shocked they didn’t link us with Ronaldo too since he wants Klopp at Madrid also 😂.

7.) 22 Jan 2018 16:54:34
The Guardian is so much more satisfying, tho, Mr Dennis. And softer too.

Does anybody think that there have been some bargain buys in this window and would anyone be interested in Youri Tilemans for 30 mill?

langland

{Ed0666's Note - Bissouma has to be the bargain of this transfer window thus far surely? And the Argentinian striker that City bought he’s gonna be a star. Tielmans is a show pony I wouldn’t go near him.

1.) 20 Jul 2022 19:05:19
Was going to say bissouma myself think he is just what we needed too!

2.) 20 Jul 2022 19:54:27
Whoever signs Maxwell Cornet, 9 goals and 5 assists for a terrible Burnley side, he could be great back up to Salah/ Diaz.

3.) 20 Jul 2022 20:30:05
Bissouma is a bargain but the fella could have been in prison after spurs signed him! .

4.) 20 Jul 2022 20:41:32
Read somewhere earlier Fabian Ruiz available for £26m, good player for that price.

{Ed002's Note - Which has nothing to do with Liverpool.}

5.) 20 Jul 2022 21:13:00
Either will 99% of players anyone mentions in this thread.

6.) 21 Jul 2022 06:14:04
Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

7.) 21 Jul 2022 08:15:17
Too early to say.

8.) 21 Jul 2022 08:20:54
I was out on a works function last night and i got 4 Jaeger bombs for £10. I personally thought that was a bargain buy and far more value for money than a Grealish or Maguire.

9.) 21 Jul 2022 10:00:46
Isn't Bissouma still under investigation and a bit of a trouble maker? I'd say he's exactly what we don't need. He wasn't even Brighton's best player last season. Cucarella takes that accolade comfortably. Bissouma had a few amazing games in the 20/ 21 season, Sky did a little feature on him, and he's lived off the hype ever since. When they were fit even Caicedo and Mwepu looked better last season. At times Bussouma was actually dropped.

The bargain of the summer for me is Perisic on a free. He might be getting on but that didn't stop him playing about 3000 minutes last season as a flying wing back. I also wouldn't be surprised if Alvarez (City) or Carvalho (Liverpool) make a big splash at relatively low overall costs.

Haaland can't be called a bargain because his wages are sickening.

{Ed001's Note - for a player who 'lived off the hype ever since' he also had a few amazing games last season. By the way, I am not sure that is even remotely true that he was dropped at times, but Sly have never worried about what is true and what is made up to get clicks.}

10.) 21 Jul 2022 11:20:42
Hopefully by the end of the season we'll be talking that Carvalho is the bargain of the season ?

I love how the lad is blending with the squad outside of the field and by the little time on the field it seems the case is the same.

11.) 21 Jul 2022 15:33:00
Ed666, I agree with you that Bissouma could be the steal of the summer but is he really with all the other issues surrounding him? Not too sure.

For me, it could be Fab Carvalho like someone said already cos he gives me major Coutinho vibes. Tielemans? Dross player and anyone who gets him will regret it, IMO.

12.) 21 Jul 2022 17:48:31
Thought Carvalho Coutinho esque also.

03 Feb 2022 20:21:05
One advantage of this Afcon is that Mo may realise how much the Liverpool team create for him, and how a different team might not.

langland

1.) 03 Feb 2022 20:53:56
If any more members of the Egyptian coaching team get sent off, Salah will be their manager as well as their captain for the last game.

2.) 03 Feb 2022 21:26:11
Sham of a tournament is a comical farce some of the things I’ve seen in it.

3.) 03 Feb 2022 21:34:48
Watching this match, I am very confident Mane is coming home with an AFCON winners medal. Both teams are rubbish.

{Ed025's Note - its not really been a good watch imo SR, the teams seem to have a couple of really good players but the rest of them should be playing for the dog and duck, and the officials are pathetic mate..

4.) 03 Feb 2022 21:48:39
Well done Mo and Egypt. Didn’t think you’d beat Cameroon. But once it went to penalties there was only one winner .
YNWA.

5.) 03 Feb 2022 23:11:51
got a bad feeling about them meeting in the final.

6.) 03 Feb 2022 22:37:05
So one of them will beat the other to the trophy, then in a couple of months one of them will be going to the world cup at the expense of the other.

7.) 04 Feb 2022 08:45:57
I think its been alright. Yeah the quality isn't maybe up to scratch and the pitches are a bit iffy but there's been some good goals and plenty of endeavour. I don't think the officiating has been that bad either, can't remember too many controversial moments at all, which would suggest to me its been OK. Just turn the sound down.

8.) 04 Feb 2022 08:59:13
It feels to me like Salah will be coming home with the trophy that teams has so much luck on its side its written in the stars for him to score the winner in the final. 3 times Egypt have gone 120 minutes and still managed to come through.

9.) 04 Feb 2022 09:22:57
Senegal for me. I watched some of the game last night and some of the Egypt players and coaching staff were acting like the world owes them a favour. Reminded me of when I used to coach my boys under 9’s team.

10.) 04 Feb 2022 10:37:10
Agree with OPs comment here about it highlighting it’s very much a team game. Tho Mo is world class the team is setup to play to strengths hopefully he’ll see that. Been rare over the last few years a player has left and gone on to better things.

05 Sep 2021 18:55:30
I don't think Trent enhanced his future England chances today.
Not impressed with him for the first 75 minutes. He didn't show enough urgency for me.

langland

1.) 05 Sep 2021 22:58:08
England just play completely differently. He was in a new position to start with and with a squad around him who were also very new, the first half wasn't great.

TAA is probably the world's best attacking full back but England don't utilise full backs very well, you'll see it occasionally but very rarely will you see them leading the attack or whipping balls in for players like Kane to nudge in.

I think Walker will remain first choice RB because he's an easy/ lazy option.

2.) 05 Sep 2021 22:16:57
Not being funny but I actually don’t like the treatment of Trent when playing for England. Trent is only one year older than Foden, yet he is somehow placed in the youngster category and is the same age as Mount. The whole should he have made the Euro squad wound me up no end and can only imagine what it did for his confidence. Now Walker makes it in the team ahead of him and is never questioned for his constant mistakes, not to mention his lack of crossing ability or positional sense but because he is fast it mask everything and is rarely brought up? I’m a reasonable man when it comes to rating our players and know the sun does not shine from all our behinds, it’s just this particular subject is infuriating. Did he have his best game, no. Was he terrible, the answer would also be no. He was played in midfield for 70 odd minutes where he struggled slightly with his positioning, which is understandable given the fact he doesn’t play there for us. When he switched to right back he had a greater influence on the game. The boy is special and some of the passes he makes is nothing short of breath taking but unfortunately the media have ran with this “Trent has to prove himself to make the team or squad” despite his club current form for club. Unfortunately under Gareth Southgate, who is a topic in itself to be saved for another day will never be appreciated for the talent he is. Anyways, can’t wait for Premier League footy to be back on this weekend.

3.) 06 Sep 2021 01:27:39
I would greatly prefer it if none of our players were subjected to Southgate’s football management skills.

4.) 06 Sep 2021 06:25:01
Bit harsh when he had to play 45 minutes in a position he hasn't played since his youth days.

5.) 06 Sep 2021 17:09:00
OP, and how was he supposed to do any of that when he was playing in a position he prolly has never played since he moved to RB 4/ 5 years ago?

Also, Im not even bothered about what TAA does or doesn't do with England cos we know the manager cannot stand him and also here, he knows he will prolly struggle in midfield cos he doesn't play there anymore and when he does, he knows the media will be out for him. The guy is weak. Instead of saying Trent is not in his plans and stick with it (hence, deal with the impending blowback like a man with a spine), he would rather hang him out to dry and allow the media and the haters on SM do his job for him. A true soup sandwich.

01 Aug 2021 17:06:43
For all those that are pooing their pants because Man City might be signing Grealish and Kane.
Just remember they will be replacing some pretty good players
Are they, that much of an improvement on who they might replace?
I don't think so.
Grealish will not score as many goals as Sterling scores and Aguero's goals per minute are far higher than Kane.

langland

{Ed025's Note - you keep telling yourself that langland, the rest of us know the truth mate..

1.) 01 Aug 2021 17:20:36
As the Ed says you keep telling yourself that Langland.

2.) 01 Aug 2021 18:08:47
Man City are buying 2 excellent football players, 2 players that improve their starting 11 which means they are pretty exceptional. Price means nothing, it ain't our money to worry about. But to question the signing of these 2 fellas is simply ridiculous.

3.) 01 Aug 2021 18:09:48
Grealish will set up a lot of goals either with assists or with his dives to set up free kicks in dangerous areas.

4.) 01 Aug 2021 18:15:59
Ok Langland the best striker in the epl and a up and coming top youngster sound lad.

5.) 01 Aug 2021 18:43:33
Man City with not be signing both players. Plus if they did they would have to sell plenty of their title winning side.

{Ed025's Note - they will just fiddle the books mark..

6.) 01 Aug 2021 19:38:22
I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over City making those two signings. If it was Messi, Haaland or Mbappe, perhaps.

The only thing that would potentially annoy me about them is that they would "win" a disproportional amount of free-kicks. They are champion divers.

7.) 01 Aug 2021 20:31:43

As for them signing Kane and Grealish, who cares at this point? These are the same people who were ready to sign Lionel Messi by any means necessary just to compete against that small club from Merseyside (sorry Ed25, not Neverton) .

They will sign who they want and that is fine. We can’t match them on this level BUT we can match them on the pitch by doing what we need to do on our side to maximise our own output. That’s all we can do.

8.) 02 Aug 2021 02:34:21
Jeez, can you imagine City’s free kick statistics next season if they get Kane and Grealish (to go with Sterling) . They could be breaking records.

16 May 2021 22:16:59
Was screaming at the players this afternoon, whilst watching the game.
Firminho, Mane, Trent, Wynauldum.
" Why are you lifting your shots?
1) If the ball is in the air it is much easier for the keeper to save.
2) If you try for the bottom corner instead of the top corner, it definitely won't go over the bar".
Then Allison sticks that one in the top corner.
Wife says to me "Its a good job that he wasn't listening to you"
My reply "headers are different"
Maybe we should bring Michael Owen in as a finishing coach?

langland

1.) 16 May 2021 22:23:30
Owen wasn’t a natural finisher. Fowler was by far a better finisher.

2.) 16 May 2021 23:06:23
As Ed001 said a couple of weeks back, bring back Shankly's sweatbox.

{Ed0666's Note - they have one of them at the BDSM club Eds 001 goes to

3.) 16 May 2021 23:12:19
Bring Fowler in for that, not Owen .

{Ed0666's Note - I agree Owen missed some real sitters

4.) 17 May 2021 00:44:35
Fowler had instinct and natural ability, not something that can be taught, and probably not something he could teach either.
Much better to find a striker who couldn’t hit a barn door at first but learned how to be better if you want to bring someone in to teach how to finish.

5.) 17 May 2021 02:59:52
Hey ed0666, I notice nobody's made reference to the BDSM clubs yet. Lots of uncomfortable shifting about maybe! As you seem to be in the know, is a sweatbox a room or something you wear ;)

{Ed0666's Note - you’ll have to ask Eds 001 when i let him out of my dungeon. Can’t get good gimps these days 😂

6.) 17 May 2021 09:36:53
The things you’d learn of Fowler are when to take that early shot, the positions you adopt to maximise the chances of scoring, how to play off the shoulder of the defender, Owen only had pace, once that went there was nothing. And he’s as dull as a day out in Luton with Ole Gunnar Solskjear as your company.

7.) 17 May 2021 09:51:12
Owen wasn't a natural finisher - hahahahahahahahahahaha.
Need to read no more after that.

8.) 17 May 2021 10:03:21
I do agree with the poster above that, if we are going to get a finishing coach, its much better to get someone who had to work on finishing (and succeeded) rather than a natural finisher.

Harking back to a post a few days ago about ex-players who have had to work at their craft potentially making better managers than the naturals, its a similar issue.

Ask God how he puts it into the top left corner with his back to goal and a defender on him, he'll likely say "I just did" whereas a player who's had to practise this day in day out to get to be anywhere near as good as God will be (likely) better able to explain the mechanics.

Of course there will be exceptions - naturally gifted players who also understand the mechanics and make excellent coaches or managers (King Kenny, Cryuff etc) and God may be one of them, but it may be better to pick someone who's had to work on it.

I am now thinking maybe get Ivan Toney in this window to help us over the line and maybe Doak or Elliot on the right after Salah leaves.

I fully expect Nunes to succeed at Liverpool, and if he was reading this I would offer him this advice. If you want to score great goals, always try and bend them round the keeper into the top corner. If you want to be a great goal scorer "hard and low is the way to go"
I want him to be a great goal scorer.

I would just like to remind all of the Diaz critics that he has recently had to deal with the trauma of his mum and dad being kidnapped, I don't know about you all, but something like that would certainly play on my mind and distract me from giving my best.
That said I do think that he is over it now and getting back to his best.
