I said it a while back that I hoped Mo and Virg would sign 2 yr extensions giving us potentially 4 windows to get in and incorporate their eventual successors into the 1st team. Thankfully it looks like we have taken care of the 1st part let's just hope that along with the areas that we need quality replacements / reinforcements ie LB, CB, RB, CM and C. F x 2 that Hughes and Edwards can deliver over the next 2 seasons and that we are looking at another formidable team capable of being successful for many years to come.

If you think we’ve got 4 windows then you’re obviously happy to lose these players on a Bosman in 2 years time.
I think we’ll look to sell them in 12 months.
We need replacements in in the next 2 windows so those players can integrate.

Ron - unless there was a serious drop off in form or some other situation leading to a mutual agreement to sell in ‘26 summer window, I’d find it incredibly disrespectful to “cash in” on these two.
I think it’s far more likely they walk for free at the end of their contract.

The amount of times people have predicted the eventual downfall of both mo and virg and for them both to make us eat them words. Even in 12 months if both players form drops they would be great subs imagine bringing virg on to defend a lead of mo to try and win a game? Mo is 24 hours into new contract let's take a breath.

If both Van Dijk and Salah leave on a free in two years time and we’ve constructively used that time for succession planning then that’s absolutely fine. Both players would be leaving after a very long and successful career and both leave as bonafide legends. I’d also hope that some kind of testimonial is organised at the end of Salah’s contract to celebrate his ten years service at the club.

Virg will be here after 2027,Mo could be too easily with how fit and dedicated he is but it will be harder for him obviously!

Amitabh Bachchan you obviously didn't read the post mate as I did say the next 4 windows, either that or maths isn't your strongest point not every club is like Citee who can buy as many as they like for as much as they like each window with 120 something charges still hanging over their heads, but I'm sure a few more brown envelopes will no doubt make that problem disappear.

Ron I'm just saying that we now have time to get their eventual successors in and adapted to the way we play imagine if they hadn't signed imagine trying to fill the void left by both leaving, I'm far from saying to let them go in 2 years time mate cause if they are still putting in the performances then why would you let them go im just saying we now have the time to plan for the future that's all mate.

Interesting little bit in Slot’s pre-match press conference. It was relating to funding for additions rather than replacements now that Mo had re-signed. Slot’s answer was positive which was the interesting bit in that he accepted the proposition that we will be buying players. Not earth shattering but interesting - I’d say he obviously has his eye on players he expects or wants to come in.
