Have to say I will be sad to see Robbo move on.
Just the spirit he brings to the squad the positive care free attitude he has, he's been a delight to have playing for us.
Not only what he does on the pitch but the off pitch stuff aswell.
Would like to see him back as member of backroom staff one day.

I’m with you Snoots.
I have no significant concerns from a player point of view as it’s clear that he is waning and has been for a season or two.
However, although a lot of people don’t value it (maybe FIFA related? ) but leadership is also the key to a successful team. For the older posters, was Mike Brearly the best batsman? The best fielder? No, but he was a fantastic leader.
The current leaders on the pitch include VVD, Salah (albeit not sure how inspirational he is as a person as I think he is quite shy, but certainly inspires through performance) Ali and Robbo, as well as Trent now gone.
Does anyone know who are the vocal leaders in the dressing room? Have the more recent additions - Macca, Szobo, Gravy - filled any of the holes left by Hendo, Milly, Fab?

Is he definitely moving on though?
I know he’s been linked but we’ve been linked with Isak, Alvarez, Martinez and god knows how many more the last few weeks and look how they’ve turned out so far.

Same thoughts. Love the guy. Long term back room boot room boy. Gets it wrong sometimes but don't we all. Never gives up.

I think some fans are overstating the importance of Robbo's leadership and vibes in the dressing room. It's important when you're plucky underdogs and need every marginal gain you can get, but we're the PL champions and signing talents like Florian Wirtz, it's not a big deal at all. Atletico Madrid will be a very dignified next career move for Robbo.

Good point JK23, we’ll have to see. I’d love for him to stay, but if he wants to try another league before he retires, I’d love for him to leave.
Nothing to do with money, only the want to see a loyal servant get what he wants. He’s certainly deserved it.

Leadership is definitely valuable, and Robbo is one of the biggest characters in the team. But, it doesn't trump quality. It's not like he is the only leader we have. VVD, Salah, Ali have been here for ages. Dom, Endo are national team captains, and Macca seems to be someone who would be a big presence in the dressing room. I remember people had the same concern when Hendo and all move on, but we have done fairly well since then. If Robbo really wants to leave and be a first choice player for a top team, I wouldn't want to stand in his way.

Have we actually been linked with Martinez though?
15 Jun 2025 15:26:09
FM, yeah, Martinez has been photographed in his local park practicing the ‘lean’ against some railings whilst his wife has been sunbed shopping ?.

Florian we’ve been linked to that many players mate I’ve even polished my boots as I can’t be far off the list of people left.

Cheers for your insight on leadership and Robbo Nick1994, what are next weeks lottery numbers. Experience is key in a squad, that and a good attitude… Milner was testament to that.

Spot on, Frode.
16 Jun 2025 00:12:00
Experience is priceless until it can leave on a free transfer.

Frode you're twisting what I've said, I didn't say leadership is unimportant, I just think that the squad has enough leadership and experience to get by without Robbo's. Aside from Virg, Ali and Mo you have Macallister, and Dom who is the captain of Hungary. And then the rest of them have experienced a PL title at the least. If we underperform next year it's not because we lost Robbo.
