Ed1 - who do you think will be our main competition next year? City have bought some interesting players, and we don’t know how the rest of the window will unfold. I’m hopeful our new players settle quick but nothing is guaranteed.

{Ed001's Note - City should be, so long as Pep has his head back in the game.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Cheers ed. Do you think they've bought better than us so far?

{Ed001's Note - no, their first choice signings have all chosen us, so of course not. They are signing their second choice. I answered this exact same question yesterday.}

One thing in city's favour is that some of their young players got quite a bit of game time under their belts last season eg marmoush, lewis. Id expect Foden to be a lot better this season so can only see them improving. It will be very dependent on how Rodri comes back from his injury . i've liked Nico for a long time but Rodri is way better.

City always although Arsenal have to challenge too if they buy a striker. This should be artetas last year if they don’t win either league or champs so think they will go all out.

Marmoush is 26 mate.

Unless they get docked a decent amount of points (8 or more and that would be tricky for them to make up) though not clear if their lawyers could stall it for at least another season.

{Ed077's Note - am I the only one who thinks Arsenal not only need a Striker but also an upgrade on their Left wing too? But they're still busy signing GKs and CBs

Brummy, I think Arteta is possibly on borrowed time, if they not on pace etc around Xmas, I’d be curious to see the response to him.

After 100s of millions spent, add summer signings, could be a difficult time for him, chunk of Arsenal fans wanted him gone at season end, so I believe.

That's actually funny, Ed. Kerkez and Wirtz chose us over them yet many of their fans kept trying to convince themselves by convincing others that they go the better deals. Oh, how things have changed.

That notwithstanding, City will be there or there abouts and like I always say, you finish ahead of City, you will win the title. As for Arsenal, there is quite some turmoil over there regarding their transfer choices and if I may consult my inner Gary Nevile, "There is something not quite right at Arsenal".

Wait and see.

Hello ed1. I've noticed few comments of yours on different threads that says if pep back switched on again next season they be challenging again. Do u mean pep took his eye off ball last season or lost a bit of interest?

{Ed001's Note - he took his eye off the ball when Klopp left. That is why they barely did business last summer and he was close to quitting. He was very focused and driven by his rivalry with Klopp.}

Arsenal finished ahead of City and didn't win the title.

Yikes, Rigsby. You're right. Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Ed001, Pep also split from his wife Cristina Serra after more than 30 years together. Had a big impact on his psyche.

{Ed001's Note - very good point and they got back together during the season, followed by the team's form improving. Makes you wonder if she is the brains behind it all? ;-) }

Qué Serra Serra?
