Hello ed25 hope u well. Not sure if it's been said on here to u recently or not but I would just like to say to u how well everton conducted themselves as a club, players/ fans/ people who run club/ management, during the recent tragedy.
No surprise as use always come up trumps when lfc faced with adversity but still I think it should be said and appreciated.

{Ed025's Note - its one city Digger and in times of adversity we always come together just like it should be mate, i was not over impressed by the reaction of some when a guy tuned up in an Everton shirt to lay flowers as the memorial though, people were saying it was in bad taste but i seen it as a show of unity, but i suppose thats social media these days..

I'm sorry but how anyone could say that it was in"Bad taste"a fan from our neighbours comes and shows sympathy is just way beyond me but as Ed025 said its social media. Any idiot can post what they want in order to get a reaction.

{Ed025's Note - yeah Barry, i have vivid memories of the Hillsborough tribute when a boy and girl wore a 9 and a 6 in their respective teams kits mate and i thought that was fantastic, i just dont understand some people..

Kudos to Everton and its supporters Ed25. I think the guy means well. I think he is just trying to show to peoples outside of the city that Everton and Liverpool are fierce local rivals. But when something terrible and devastating happen to one of the club, there is no such thing as local rivals. The city all become one and as you say it is a show of unity. There will always be peoples on social media that will try to nitpick small thing to turn it into a negative thing. Its just the way social media works.

{Ed025's Note - i agree Mfahmee, but its still a bit sad mate..

08 Jul 2025 13:48:09
There will always be a minority ed25,u can see it on here as well,5% r less who have no interest in anything only causing trouble. Nothing else to do would be the main problem if u ask me.

{Ed025's Note - but there is a time and a place for tribalism Digger...but this was not one of them imo mate..

I remember standing in the Kop on derby day and it would be pretty much 50/ 50 red and blue. Wish it was like that again. Hope it can be. Unity is better for the city.

{Ed025's Note - i visited Anfield many a time wearing a blue shirt Flidby, but that was a while ago and i must admit i would not be comfortable going these days mate, sad times really..

I remember being at anfield when they gave a tribute to Rhys Jones family, only time I actually welled up at a football match.

Everton and Liverpool are siblings at the end of the day. In a normal world, that should be the prevailing sentiment. Obviously we don't live in a normal world anymore!

Yeah I’m going back to when it was standing. There was ribbing but nothing sinister. I remember a couple of pissed city fans coming in once and singing something like “sign on sign on” and then getting filled in but apart from that I never saw any violence in or outside the stadium.
I barely speak to some of my schoolmates who are blues now because of our respective changes in fortune. Hate it. It’s so stupid. I would be gutted if Everton got relegated and have supported them in recent years when it’s been touch and go. Really hope yous bounce back after all the years of mismanagement and wasted money.

{Ed025's Note - so do i mate...cheers..

Not bothered what club shirt they turn up in, they genuinely turned up to pay their respects and show some love, it’s the thought that counts and to me it’s a sign of wanting to build bridges and be good neighbours.

(If rumours are true) Seamus Coleman showed a lot of class Ed, by visiting the memorial late at night when no media was around. Show’s the character of the Man.

{Ed025's Note - he actually went at 11-30 pm so im told SI so as not to draw attention to himself, he is a very humble guy and a nice person mate..

I did read about the abuse the Everton fan got for having the audacity to wear an Everton shirt. It's unreal the things some people get trigged by. I'd be more annoyed with all the cameras video people, who ever it was that videod the Everton fan did make it look staged then you had the ones following Henderson trying to get a close up under his glasses. Ronaldo not feeling comfortable to go so not to take the attention away from the day and if rumours are true having to close the grave yard to stop people from taking selfie.
That's the one thing I feel sorry for the celebrity's even in grief you get the vultures (press mostly) making a circus out of it.

I saw a guy and his kid in an Everton shirt when I visited, it certainly wasn’t in poor taste and felt like a united support front for a player well admired. Like the Ed said it’s one city and anyone with a brain knows there is no malice or poor taste there.

Regrettably the minority cretins spreading hatred and disunity tend to get more attention than regular normal people that tend to just want to look out for each other. Shame, as it breeds cynicism.
