The truth is a motivated Darwin Nunez is better than most of the strikers being touted around for £70m - £100m on the market this Summer! YNWA Darwin despite Twitter hysteria to the contrary!

{Ed025's Note - dont start a post with.."the truth is" when its just lies mate..

14 Jul 2025 18:30:24
Agree with you there, Ed.

{Ed025's Note - i dont mind people backing their own players Rome, but it does have to at least be a bit credible mate..

14 Jul 2025 18:39:29
Cheers Ed025 for telling the truth. This Nunez empathy is baffling.

{Ed025's Note - i just dont get it KC..

It happens at the start of every season and then he disappoints…. we need to move him on.

14 Jul 2025 18:59:33
I think it's fair to say opinion is divided. If it was up to me I'd get rid, but you had posters yesterday saying we should keep him cus he's "fun". It really beggars belief.

I said it on the chat yesterday and happy to stick by my opinion.

I feel if Nunez stays we will see a very different player. We all know he is an emotional player and I just think he is someone that would treat the circumstances as motivation.

It's purely a hunch and I think he is more likely to leave. But if he stays, I think he surprises us all.

{Ed025's Note - there is an old saying.."you cant polish a turd" WYred, but you never know i might be surprised mate.. :)

I think what you are seeing is fans who can see raw talent there versus those who are done with him.
The guy has all the attributes to succeed except for a calm head. If he sorts that, he'll be unplayable but he's had plenty of time to fix it in his first few seasons.

14 Jul 2025 19:27:00
Opinion is not as divided as one might think. Most summer pools were well over 70% to sell Darwin. I just think a few trolls (new user names) are trying to make trouble.

14 Jul 2025 19:49:12
I think you might be right there, KC.

14 Jul 2025 19:58:05
We need a new Suarez. That type of player, no matter the cost.

{Ed025's Note - you could always get a Great White Shark BBOT, they like eating people as well mate.. :)

He’s had three seasons and he’s regressed each season. Let’s call it what it is he’s a flop and an expensive flop at that. He has had two top coaches coaching him along with coaching staff etc. he hasn’t bothered to learn the language properly, and completely downed tools last season.

He very much needs to go this window, we cut our losses and hopefully recoup £50 million and I’m happy. Slot doesn’t rate him and rightly so. i've supported him through the seasons like I do with all the players, but this guy has no game intelligence and it seems he either can’t learn from these top coaches or he doesn’t want to.

I don’t think he’ll end up in Italy as they will only offer lowball offers or season long loans without an obligation to buy. We will hopefully move him on to Saudi.

Actually ed025 about 10 year ago there was an online trend where people would decorate poo on the streets…don’t know why they just didn’t pick it up ?.

{Ed025's Note - they did the same in Benfica a few years ago MOT....and sold it to Liverpool mate.. :)

14 Jul 2025 20:59:29
I’m not a troll, I’d prefer Nunez staying another year over signing sesko or ekitke. Not much choice out there people just throwing names around for the sake of it. Replace quansah call it a day.

14 Jul 2025 20:59:11
But you can roll it in glitter ed025 ? and I'm hoping Saudi see my blind hope, think there is a 70m player in there and throw the money at us to get Isak.

{Ed025's Note - i think about £40m to an Italian club seems more feasible mate..

There is a player in Nunez, his top level is high, his low level is very low. He seems to be an emotional player, so there should be someone able to help him to perform at stable high level. But, some of these emotional players with potential will never find the right person to help them. He is about to enter an age where the brain seems to calm down (usually around 26), has a family, and a major trauma has happened (RIP Jota and Diogo) . We might see players take a turn either way, and Nunez might be a positive surprise this season. But (rubbishloads of but's here), without any insight, it seems like he needs to be trusted, and I am not sure that Slot has trust in him.

It is going to be an interesting preseason/ transfer window, both in and out. Streamlining the Liverpool squad, the way Slot seems to like it, means sales (someone has a bit of work cut out ahead of them) . I do believe that the new players will take us forward, but so do any other team in the league in one way or another. Wirtz, Frimpong and Kerkez will help producing goals, and help out defensivly, a good central defender, and an attacking player, either with potential or reafy make across the whole attacking line, of a available would be my guess.
