I swear these VAR calls just make football tough to watch
1. Not sure what was wrong with the Fulham goal that was disallowed
2. The Utd penalty - contact yes, but outside the box it started, isn't that when the foul is given
I just don't understand the game anymore, no clue what is given and why by VAR these days and what is ignored.

Is that the rule Rome? I thought it's where it started - like if a foul starts outside the box, he stumbles and falls into the box a free is given

Was coming on to post this as well. Seemed a very soft penalty in the United game, yes Burnley player shouldn't give the ref a decision to make but surely using common sense the ref knows Amad deliberately falls. VAR takes away any common sense in these calls.
I was a bit confused by Burnleys disallowed goal. they showed the graphic and it seemed that de ligts shoulder was playing him on? Maybe im mistaken about that'll one hut it seemed so odd.

If anything you have to thank VAR for highlighting what PL refs has been doing for long time.
They were dictating every title season after season, denying points, giving points through dubious fouls and offsides. Now they have something in place to explain themselves which makes them look stupid every season.
I remembered Rafa and Fergie title challenge. It was like if uted lost points LFC will lost points, they would make sure LFC drew games because uted were playing late or next day.
The VAR is working perfectly in other leagues bar PL. No wonder Howard Webb is leading PGMOL.

Yeah Bmena, me too - annoying thing though is that every week fans are talking about the officiating and the VAR rather than the actual football. Every single week.

With that train of thought, you could nibble away at someone in the centre circle , as long as they're determined enough to make it into the penalty area . It's a spot kick Ludicrous !

I thought on offside, it's the semi-auotomatic system that was implemented already so not sure about the Burnley offside.
On the Fulham goal, I can see why it was disallowed as there is a case of a blatant foul on the Chelsea player tho, non-intential.
However, I don't agree with the Chelsea pen cos if you are not going to call the Joao Pedro handball the, you simply can't call the Fulham one on Sessegnon. Just my opinion.

VAR is just technology.
When you have the same incompetent officials using that technology don’t expect better outcomes.

I didn't see the incident, but it depends on the type of foul whether the "where it starts" or "where it ends" is important. If a player makes a slide tackle and fouls a player outside the box, but he eventually falls inside the box, it's a free kick. If a player is pulled or barged outside the box and it continues into the box before he falls/ loses the ball, it's a pen.
That's the way I interpret it anyway, in the simplest terms possible.

Beg to differ on the Chelsea “foul”, Oli. The Fulham player was in full control of the ball and not the player making a challenge, the rules relating to fouls only refer to players making challenges which are not intending to get the ball or conduct which is out of control which results in a foul, which the Fulham player was doing neither. Chalobah was making a tackle he had no hope of making and had his toes accidentally trod on, that’s not a foul. And not should it be. If it was the other way around that chalobah was in control of the ball and the Fulham player stepped on his toes to stop him, then all day long it’s a foul.

VV as I said, I can see why the vAR could have disallowed the goal based on the perceived foul on Chalobah. It does not mean I agree with exactly because of the reasons you have touched on. Just saying that it is touch and go.
Now on the flipside, another VAR assistant could award the goal for due to the reasons you gave and I would still understand why that decision was made hene again, it is touch and go. Hope this clears things up for you.
