Ed01 - just curious on your view on Dom at RB…

Slot has previous in trying established players in new roles - Grav at DM (although not sure if Ryan played there when younger? ) and Diaz at CF.

Do you think Dom’s a good fit at RB as a permanent option? It would free up the midfield places to play Grav, Macca and Wirtz and leaves Frimpong as an option for RW.

I suppose the real question is do you think Slot is thinking that way?

{Ed001's Note - right now he certainly looks the best option, but I would think Slot will want rotation in the midfield, so I think he will probably just be used as cover at rb.}

it's good to have flexibility in the squad. But unless there are long term gaps, then we should be trying to make long term change to an established first teamer's position.

In the end, we want players playing to their strengths. Yes, their strengths can be utilized in alternative positions, but over a longer period of time I think that wanes on the player.

The way he played on Sunday was unbelievable.

Need him back in midfield. we have two excellent options for right back . hopefully Bradley n frimpong can stay fit.

Dom looked genuinely world class at right back. Massive engine, great reading of play, strong in the tackle, great passing, and a ridiculous engine to track back. He was imperious. He should still mainly be a centre mid but he's such an excellent cover option for RB.

One advantage of having Dom there is he can make use of his expansive passing range from deep without having to switch out one of our excellent pivot players. At the same time we are losing frimpong's electric pace out wide making those overlapping runs to stretch the pitch, or bradley's understanding with mo and adeptness going inside with the underlapping runs into the box. It's a hard choice but it just means we have different options on that side.

Crazy that Dom has proven he can do an excellent job against the big teams over there though, he is a truly intelligent player with the motor and technique to do anything you need him to do.

I rewatched the game as I find it easy to analyse it properly once the emotion is taken away. What I noticed alongside what the others have mentioned is that Doms positioning made us a lot more solid than we have been. He hung back a bit deeper than when Frimpongs been playing there and it didn't leave us outnumbered when we lost the ball. He played like trent and controlled the play but also had the defensive side of the game nailed. I would put him as our number 1 option at right back at the moment. He was immense and would deserve the motm even without the spectacular goal.

Absolutely loved Doms work rate and very obvious passion to help the team, we have such a talented squad
Bloody international break.
Let's GO
( sorry about the capital GO. couple of beers and I get restless)
Have a great week all.

Don is turning into this season’s Gravy, isn’t he?

Seems a bit of a waste having him at RB. I don't think he's anywhere near his potential at CM yet. I think he'll eventually take Maccas place there. Him gravenberch and Wirtz seems like a nice balance in midfield as he offers a lot more athleticism than Macca.

There was a play in first half Dom burst forward on a break. He made it all the way to their box but we lost the ball then Arsenal broke with numbers against our defense. Dom did get back as Konate defended for a corner.
