Really hoping for a more friendly atmosphere at the derby this weekend. There’s too much division in the world. Everything is becoming polarised. I’m becoming so pessimistic about where we’re heading (or being led) as human beings. Yes we can take the p. out of each other but pure hatred needs to be put in the bin. Bring back the days of Liverpool and Everton flags flying in the Kop. United we stand, divided we fall.

Well said. Though can’t stand United myself.

16 Sep 2025 13:18:27
Them were the days - fans used to sit beside each other all over the stadiums. The Merseyside derby just used to be different to other derbies, still full-blooded and fierce, but on the pitch

It's a definite shame but I don't think we'll ever see a return to those days, just too many hateful sorts on both sides these days unfortunately.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Bill..

I'm in Ireland, so locals can tell me to do one, but I remember everyone talking about blues helping out stranded Liverpool fans after the parade incident. That should be remembered.

16 Sep 2025 14:26:49
Very well said mate, couldn't agree more.

16 Sep 2025 15:11:20
Those days are long gone unfortunately.

16 Sep 2025 16:16:28
But perhaps they could come back Drogie. Scouse not English, right?

16 Sep 2025 16:29:30
That’s absolutely how it should be Skeletor. Especially after that tragic event and with Jota’s awful accident.

16 Sep 2025 16:30:07
Never going to happen . the trend of hostility has kicked in . new generation only see the worst of each other at the Derby nowadays.

16 Sep 2025 17:20:51
I'm Irish too Skeletor, I lived in LDN mid eighties to early 90s, I used to go to a lot of LFC games, both North and South, when match entry then was so accessible. Used to head to Lpool for many a match, it wasn't as refined as now around Anfield back then but great craic and great people especially around Derby day. My best memory though is heading to the FA cup final in 89. Wasn't long after Hillsborough, and catching the tube to Wembley, the carriages were full of both red and blue shirts, hats, scarves, flags you name it. Shouting the craic, singing the songs! All in the one place, tubes, busses, walking Wembley Way, zero segregation, all in great form, even after such a seismic tragedy and loving every minute! I'm not so sure I'd be as comfortable wearing my Candy top in such circumstances now as I was then unfortunately. In saying that Liverpool and it's people red, blue or white are nothing but friendly, welcoming and very accommodating (before you say it. Stop! ???) it's a mighty spot to be, match day or not! . IMO anyway! Probably because half of yous are Irish anyway! ?????.

It ain't going to happen, Stroms is spot on.
The base issue is envy, simple as that.
We aren't likely to be going on a long trophyless run any time soon, and poor Everton ain't going to win one in the meantime.
So with that gap ever widening there is simply zero chance of reconciliation.

17 Sep 2025 01:31:36
Never happening my mate, and to be honest I despise the new breed of Evertonian, they are vile.
Their lack of a trophy since 2995 has brought about a hatred for our success that has gained momentum as the trophies accumulate, and I can only pity them ?.

17 Sep 2025 07:50:31
It takes two to tango @Shughes. It’s societal, football is just one of any number of vehicles to allow d#ckheads to resort to violence.

17 Sep 2025 08:55:00
Absolutely this WWW.

17 Sep 2025 09:44:00
Exactly WDW and violence is what we get, especially on the pitch.

If it is ever going to get back to how it used to be the first thing that needs to happen is Everton need to stop just trying to kick us off the pitch in every Derby. Violence and hatred breeds violence and hatred and it all starts with Everton’s manager and players.

{Ed025's Note - you dont half talk some tripe mate..

17 Sep 2025 12:59:46
Look up @Robbo, look up!

Sorry RLL but I couldn't agree more with Ed025. I've never seen an Everton player make a bad tackle and immediately wanted to punch 7 shades out of the next Blue nose I see. Anyone who does think like that shouldn't be anywhere near a football stadium.
It's sad but I imagine 90% of people who go to games would sit there next to opposition fans, have a pint and a bit of banter and go home happy. Sadly it's impossible to know who the 10% of idiots who can't manage that are, so the only way to keep the 90% safe is to segregate everyone.
