Chiesa should be in the Champions League squad ahead of Ngumoha. I would go as far as saying Slot has disrespected him several times since he joined. It must have been demoralising for him at times. And yet he keeps turning up in games. He deserves better.

Perhaps if you attended the past 15 / 16months training sessions and were privy to the clubs plans for the season that might make sense. That said it just seems like the joint in the middle of your leg is twitching.

By default we know we don’t have all the inside oil, so I don’t think it’s fair to use that as a stick to beat another fan’s perspective
To the OP - I totally agree. Rio has done nothing in the game to earn that spot over Chiesa. Chiesa, based on everything we hear from the club has been a model professional since he arrived. I definitely think there is some personal preference working against Chiesa.
In saying that, it is in Chiesa’s hands to keep putting himself in the picture and taking opportunities as he gets them.
He should definitely be rotated in for Gakpo like Diaz was and I would be resting Mo earlier in games too.
Happy for Chiesa. Always have a soft spot for u heralded players like him, Origi, Gomez, Lucas et al. Fellahs who just get stuck in, don’t cause issues and are dedicated to the club.

Might be wrong but Pretty sure it’s rumoured Chiesa didn’t make the CL cut due to the homegrown Quotas etc.
If Guehi is signed then Chiesa is in instead of Rio.
Ekitike suspension this weekend and Isak unlikely to play 90 mins will likely result in Chiesa getting PL game time to lay his case. Despite having some good moments he’s only still played the equivalent of less than 2 PL games of football with 151 mins of minutes. In 13 months.

Personally think Chiesa is under used. If he gets a run in the side he could be very good but personally I don’t think Slot wants him.

Some nonsense in this thread, skit is not being disrespectful to Chiesa at all, it’s about the the future and home grown quota’s.
Also as for Rio last night, if you’d have were at the game you’d have seen that there were 2/ 3 players on Rio as soon as he got the ball…. so it was tough for him.

WDW I've actually thought this for a while now and was just amazed last night at Chiesa's performance. You just can't keep this guy down.
In my opinion, I've seen more from Chiesa in his brief opportunities than I have from Gakpo at all this season, who for me has been average.

Faith its not to do with Rio mate.
It was more the young Italian lad went into the squad in place of Guehi and that took all the non home grown places so Chiesa missed out and Rio is at the age where he is ok.
Its something along those lines that i heard on one of the LFC podcasts.
As i said i might be totally wrong.

@Babbity, I’m a fan of Chiesa’s and if you go back through the threads on this forum I’ve been a fan of Chiesa’s. That said, I think Slot has his idea of what he wants and has to make his own decisions as to who he selected for the CL squad. I would have picked Chiesa but I’m not the one making the choices and I have no idea of the background to Slot’s thinking. Given his record last season and his managing us to seven wins from seven games this season I give him the benefit of the doubt in knowing what’s best.

JK - Rio is picked in List A as a non-HG player. You’re thinking of him as an U-21 player but he doesn’t count as he hasn’t been in the squad for two season.
Not sure what Leoni has to do with Chiesa as you’d have 4 CBs in the squad.
Anyways, probably with Leoni’s injury, Chiesa may get an opportunity that way.
