Sent to soon . if the boss of the refs can come up with drivel like this . it was a blatant goal . not saying the outcome of the game would have been any different because we played so poorly but at 1-1 you never know.

Well their rationale being that the keeper had his view blocked does not hold even a drop of water. They made a mistake but can get away with not admitting it and that's what they've done.

I am convinced there is corruption at the highest level involving City and the referees. The sheer volume of decisions that go in there favor, especially in big games, is unprecedented, and has been for a long time now.

How can it be a blatant goal? Robertson was offside.
You might believe it was a goal but that is subjective. The goal was checked because the flag went up. It was checked to see if Robertson was offside and he was.
If he wasn't offside the goal would have been given.
The fact that there is so much debate about whether it should have stood or not shows that it was not a blatant goal.

One thing we can all agree on is, we were trash and deserved nothing from the game.
But the inconsistency with this decision is baffling. City last season had one go there way, which was actually overturned if memory serves me right.
In my opinion, this could be made easier by making it black and white. This subjective nature in football makes the refs and the fans lives harder especially when you get two different outcomes for similar scenarios.
I would either, A) if anyone is offside, regardless of interfering or not it's off. Personally don't like this as it favours the defending team and likely less goals or B) only the player playing the ball can be offside. Yes you may get some keepers views being blocked etc but at least it's black and white and equal across the board. In this case you'd win some and lose some but everyone knows where they stand instead of hiding behind 'subjective decisions'.

Ok rigsby . so what is your opinion. do you think it was a goal . to me it was a goal.
12 Nov 2025 09:54:18
The trouble with the goal it’s down to opinions and refs have different ones and it’s used as an escape route for errors easy way out of this is make it an offside in the six yard box if you’re offside.

Stroms, it could have gone either way but it doesn't really matter what I think.
Donnarumma wouldn't have saved it but Robertson was about three yards out, in the line of the ball, in an offside position and he made a ducking action.
It's a subjective decision but the linesman made a decision. VAR wasn't going to overturn it because the check showed that he was offside.
It wasn't a clear and obvious error because he was offside.
Had the linesman not flagged it could well have been given.
Whatever your view, it wasn't a blatant or definite goal because there is a grey area of Robbo effecting the keeper from an offside position.
It could be a small grey area but it's still a grey area.

Robbo is to the side of the GK, he is behind Doku, the ball goes over Doku, GK can see the ball clearly. Goal. Based on previous decisions its a goal. its v City, its Oliver. Rant over.

I'm more inclined to agree with Rigsby on the VVD phantom goal. Win some, lose some decision territory methinks.
12 Nov 2025 16:08:52
Rigsby . all that to say your not sure if its was a goal. to me if Robbo was directly in front of the city keeper, then fair enough blatant offside. but then last year Ciiteh got one in with Silva bumped into the goalie and was standing right in front of the keeper n hey presto, the goal stands .
but as you say it doesn't matter what you or I think.

Based on Webbo's own words when he was trying to save his puppy Oliver as VAR in the Wolves/ City game last season, it is a goal cos he standing in an offside position is not an offence. Trying to play the ball or prevent the oppo. player from reaching the ball makes the player offside. Webbo lied thru his teeth to save his boy, period.
In addition even last season away at the Etihad, Szobo scored the second goal with Jones in an offside position but he was not interferring with the view of Ederson hence, the goal was given and not a soul complained. But now, it is a problem? Oliver screwed and has been screwing us for the past 12 months now and I got reciepts, if you w
All the majority ex refs have said it is a goal, based on the actual offside rule in place. Anyone that is saying it is subjective or offside cos Robbo ducked knows needs to go read the rule again created by Webbo himself, btw.

Like I said before hitting send, Oliver has been screwing us for a year now and I got receipts to prove it, if anyone is interested.

Oli . Listening to Webb yesterday, you just knew he was going to come out n defend Oliver n the ref . even defended the decision from last year with citehs goal. he jas been doing it to us for years .
I remember the Berbertov pen . when he hardly got touched n he dived, Webb couldn't wait to give a pen . even Ryan Babbel got a 10k fine for mocking up a pic of Webb in a manure shirt.
