Far too much negativity, we have been on a horrendous run and things have most definitely not gone to plan. We all know this, yet I've seen a couple of things over the past 2 games. That show just glimpses of improvement.
A win, clean sheet, coming back from a goal down to not lose, Wirtz getting better. All positives imo.
Don't give me "we only beat West Ham, anyone can bollocks". You have to still turn up and do you job, no game is a given. Plus the way we where playing prior, people wouldn't of been surprised if we got beat by them.
Sunderland have been a very good team so far this season. They came with a plan and executed it almost perfectly. We are a team woefully short on confidence and form, we were never going to blow them away. So to even get a point from a losing position in a game, especially the 1st half we were poor in. Can only help a little with confidence.
Am I happy with things as they currently are? No but if those small steps continue and we keep picking up points even when being poor, we will soon be in a better position both form and confidence wise.
Do I think that Slot is the right man to get us through it? The club seem to think so and that is good enough for me.

Well said.

I don’t ever remember falling asleep watching us play until slot came along. Sack him or not the football is crap. It has been on the wane since he came we are reaping what he has sewn, current situation is not because isak had no pre season or players are out of form or settling in.

I'm struggling to see any positivity at all after 9 defeats in our last 15 games in all competitions. Other than some individual skill like Wirtz against Sunderland I have no idea how this Liverpool team scores a goal.
04 Dec 2025 23:42:24
Na.
Liverpool are loitering around in 9th after winning the league and despite having the names “Wirtz”, “Salah”, and “Isak” in their ranks - our performances and results have been unacceptable.
Though the new CL format forgives poor performances to a large extent, from a trophy-winning perspective our season is close to being wrecked and we’re only a 1/ 3rd of the way through it.
The club have been wrong many times in the past, and I suspect they might be wrong giving Slot more time when he should have been sacked after the Brentford game.

Well we're certainly going to get an opportunity to show improvement in Leeds at the weekend. After stuffing the Chelsea turkey they'll be right up for second helpings.
05 Dec 2025 03:12:49
Fields, good points but I would say why did it ever get this bad in the first place? He came in last season and didn't really miss a beat. We were happy and seemed to go seamlessly from one manager to the next and not be like United.
But this season it's a totally different approach and clearly not working and we're all baffled as to the whys. We were title favourites coming into the season now we're worried about playing relegation candidates this weekend.
05 Dec 2025 03:14:47
The fields, not even you can be this deluded. A positive spin on drawing to Sunderland at home when we are league champions and got outplayed - again? I’m a positive person but I can’t even find the positives or “improvements” you’re talking about.
I know your ITK apparently and have preached about Slot being safe etc but it’s time to take your head out the ground and see what’s going on. I was pro slot until this week, now it’s time for a change that can be the only positive in this situation.
05 Dec 2025 03:23:57
Slot will be gone if Leeds beat us.
05 Dec 2025 04:46:05
While I’m not going to disagree with anything you said fields, the tempo of our play is far too slow. Slot complains of low blocks but the pace we play at gives teams ample time to get back and set there block, and have a cup of tea.
We need to play fast pass and move football to stretch defences and catch the opposition out of position.
And have a manager with a little more commitment it seems.
05 Dec 2025 06:05:32
Great comments, OP, to counterargue the hysterical ones - I'm with you. I would add that sacking Slot is not only bad strategy management it will not solve the fundamental problem and possibly even send us down a ManU-Chelsea-style slippery slope of mid-long term instability. In fact if he gets sacked mid-season, I'll eat my hat, and my membership.
05 Dec 2025 06:25:31
Nonsense, delvecs - Comparing us to Man Utd and Chelsea, whose respective situations have causes far deeper than regular changes of manager, is absolutely absurd.
Moreover, not one contributor in this thread is even approaching hysteria. On the contrary, each reply is well thought out.

I would agree with u fields as regards the wh match, we beat what was in front of us comfortably and didnt. give them a sniff. not our problem how they played, they got a point at ot last nite so they not completely downed tools.
I would disagree with u on the Sunderland match, not the result but the performance.
I expected us to come out flying 1st 10-15mins try and get early goal and build on momentum from wh game, but we came out at little more than walking pace and straight away gave them the momentum and sucked the life out of the crowd. I v disappointed in that and really we only looked awake last 15mins when we went behind.

Somebody maybe getting a custom polo neck from Dicky for Christmas, Thefields.
It’s utterly lifeless. Performances are getting worse week by week. I’m looking for a glimmer of hope and all I have is the transfer window opens in a few weeks - which is a ridiculous state of affairs.
After West Ham, we are the easiest team to play against in the Premier League. Perhaps we laughed too hard at Man Utd over the last couple of years and this is our comeuppance for that.
05 Dec 2025 07:28:12
Thefields I will give you “we only beat West Ham rubbish” they are a poor side and in a relegation battle and I expect the champions to beat them. Conversely don’t give me “Sunderland have been great” rubbish. It’s fine for you to say one thing in one breath about a teams credentials but not in the other. Liverpool should be beating them… end of.
Slot will be gone one way or another, why hasn’t he gone yet? Not trigger happy, interim not lined up, replacement not ready? Either way he will be gone at some point, so avoid this “if it’s good enough for the club it’s good enough for me” rubbish. Your virtue signalling is laughable. We’re awful and Slot needs to take accountability.
05 Dec 2025 07:33:04
If your tactics consistently mean you have to put 6 forwards on and play 8 players up front most games then maybe your tactics need changing.
05 Dec 2025 07:37:51
The problem as I see it is there is a way to play against us that Slot hasn't found an answer for. We have beaten teams recently that have played into pur hands. Add to that the confidence issues you mentioned and we don't often look like scoring let alone winning.
Can Slot adjust and fire these players up, i hope so but don't see anything to suggest it's going to happen.
I often go back to the the first half an hour against Athletico Madrid for how I think we should be playing, compare it to the Sinderland game and it's like chalk and cheese.
05 Dec 2025 08:30:22
Lowe1FC - no comparison made at all. A point was being made about hair-trigger culture of sacking managers, that is all. Furthermore, no comment was being made about anyone's hysteria on this thread. On other threads however it's clearly open for debate. Read carefully.

Ive been watching LFC for nearly 60 years. i've never wanted a manager sacked, came close with Hodgson, i've never booed a player in our shirt. What has gone wrong this season? a mixture of things for me. Just too much change all at once. In my humble opinion, some of the signings were wrong, or they have been played in the wrong way. Kerkez, left back of the season last season, great athlete, good left foot, fast and physical. So why play him inverting, holding back etc? one example. I do honestly think some of the signings were not Slots choice.
But, he is Head Coach not the manager, so to some degree others will say who we sign, and its upto to the Head Coach to get the best out of them. Gravenberch, sensation last season, this season moved further forward, not protecting the CBs the same, two forward thinking backs on the left and right, and you move your 6 further forward? you are asking for trouble. Things need to change, put the players where they belong, play to their strengths, up the training and get the players where they should be, top of the league. YNWA.
