Weren't terms agreed in the summer. If he's asking for more now then F him but seems very odd as he was lauded as a 'good guy'.

I think he was OFFERED more by City (more than double according to Ned) and he's decided to take that. We were prepared to pay the price but not shatter our wage structure.

The meltdown is hilarious. It's Marc Guehi ?.

Obviously low balled the offer. Don't see much wrong with city giving 20m to palace and 300k a week to guehi, take it that covers his signing on fee. Hell be great for them, everyone saying he'll be a bench warmer. Really? You think stones, Lewis or khusanov play above him? Guehi gvardiol and dias are thrightening.

I really don't get the hype of Guehi. He plays in a back 3 and when I've seen him in a back 2 he's all over the place. In saying that he would be a massive upgrade on Konate but that's not a high bar now is it.
I think signings are going to happen in the summer when management is sorted with clearer ideas on how to use these players correctly.
{Ed025's Note - its too much to pay for Guehi imo Coul..

Diaz and Gvardiol do, doesn't Pep play a back four these days?
16 Jan 2026 17:51:24
Right, City offered double our offer to MG and triple to Semyano, obviously they are allowed to pay what they deem fair. Where is the result of the 115, as mentioned on here, vast majority are nothing charges - but some big charges. Anyone else think it'll be dragged out until Pep leaves in 27? Ed, what is your view on the very protracted judgements?
{Ed001's Note - Pep is likely to leave in the summer for starters. Secondly, they are not waiting on him to go, they just can't deal with City's lawyers.}

While we desperately need a CB. i remember the meltdown on her when we was in for Guehi. he isn't good enough, not big enough etc. I think he's a good player but them wages he getting from citeh, we couldn't put him on that. plenty of CBs out there, looks like we're now waiting for summer, get 2 decent ones in then.

Exactly LIVERPOOL FC. Not saying the squad is deep enough but I think with luck on the injury front, this squad can get us into the UCL places till summer. I'm not irked at missing out on Semenyo and Guehi, I will be, if Slot continues in his position next season.
Bring in a manager that can bring out the best in the plethora of talent we've got for starters and allow him add up in the summer. That's my dream scenerio though.

Thanks Ed01,
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}
