As an aberdonian and seeing Ramsay many times in the flesh play, I wasn't shocked to see Liverpool sign him for development in the youth team with potential to join the first team. He was an excellent prospect.
Unfortunately he has been hampered with injuries from day one, had terrible loan decisions and now has a manager belittling him in public.
Poor lad just needs a chance instead of all the naysayers claiming he's not good enough, at the very least he should be getting the opportunity to get his career back on track. Slot is a disgrace for what he said and so much for the mantra of YNWA.
{Ed001's Note - I really do not understand why Slot would say that publicly or privately. If you don't think he is good enough, then give him stuff to work on to improve himself with a development coach. But then he already threw one of those under the bus by using him as a set piece coach and then blaming him when he wasn't good at it. He should have been moved back to development and given a plan of action to improve Ramsay. Even if he doesn't reach the required level, if he is better then he should sell for more, which benefits everyone, as he gets a cut of the transfer fee and bigger wages if he is seen as a better player.}

Totally agree with you here ed001. Why would he say that? I can only think he knows his time is all but up so he is in " it's not my fault" mode.

90% of me think that's just the way he is.
Seems strange as players last season seem to have taken to him. not like best buddies. but professionally. and this season it's just like he is the boss that ignores you more than speaks to you.
If you remember last season he called out a couple of players in public. but did it differently to what he seems to be doing this year.

Exactl ed1 I'm no footballing expert but Ramsay had potential. I assume he won't be given the chance to prove his worth now at LFC but as you said why not develop him to at least get the fee back and let the lad get on with his career.
He 100% is better than Scottish football and could do well for a number of teams in England.
Slot is no man manager and making absolutely terrible remarks like that can't be due to his "Dutch Directness" I work for a Dutch company and I've never heard one manager speak to any staff like that ever!

Loved how blunt and honest he was last year Ed. He was cut throat. Ruthless. We needed it.
Klopp didn't have enough of that in his tenure.
This season however, Slot has shown he has no filter, no fine line. No balance between ruthless and just straight up disrespectful. Horrendous man management.

The thing I don't get about Ramsey, is if he is second fiddle, even with Bradley injured. Then why not start him against Barnsley? Surely you use the option in an FA cup game in a position we are light on in bodies.
He just seems to trust a small core of players, works fine if they all fit, but lose a couple and it all falls apart.

Exactly WYred these cups are great to develop youth and Ramsay would have been fine in that game. But Slot has "better options" even if it's not their position. Says everything as a coach, he can't develop a player who's natural role isRB instead discredits and disrespects him in public. It's not being blunt it's borderline being a bully.

I guess the backlash if we lost WYred, if he played too many of the stiffs? Which is understandable after our League Cup campaign but also shows how brittle we are even in an 11 game unbeaten run.

I genuinely believe the impact of him leaving has had a major impact on things this season.
It's not right that the players are having meetings, Salah calling him out.

Losing the assistant manager can cause a massive issue with the team as is becoming clearer and clearer as the season has gone on.
Slot has been called out for his poor man management plenty of times including by Feyeonord fans and ex players, they have experience playing under him so surely all these people can't be wrong?
Secondly last season at what point did Slot discredit a player in public? Saying he has "better options" when asked and alluding to using non natural players for that position is not good management.
Egos and confidence are both fragile. And brought down like that for a young player not only is discrediting him, it's destroying his confidence and morale. Will he want to prove a point when he plays now? Probably not as why would you for someone who discredits you so publicly? Slot should have been reprimanded and offered an explanation publicly for his comments, it's a pity none of the journalists had the gumption to do so.

A lot of coaches start saying weird things when they're on their way out, or when they're having a dig about lack of transfer activity or support from above. This could be a bit of both, not necessary though at all.
I'm convinced they also play players out of position deliberately, rather than use reserves like Ramsay in their correct positions, to make a point.

Slotteboard he's 23 this summer, a coupla weeks younger than Bradley and older than Kerkez who has got pelters this season on here and on tv including from ex lfc players. It is beyong obvious he has no hope of a career at Lfc. Evertone knows that. We all know that. Ramsey knows that. Slot said he has better options, hardly a shocking statement is it.

Ramsay looked ok v Palace, nateual right back and as said earlier, why not give him another go v Barnsle, if he came through that ok then carry on with him. but to give him no chance then to degrade him in public, just not right.

Frode there's a lot of trolls on this site but im not one of them. im like any other lfc fan, as frustrated as any other fan. I just have never liked the hatred (from after our first defeat of the season i may add) Slot has got on here.
I think there's a certain amount of respect that should be shown. I think blame should be shared out more and i just call out when people blatantly lie to push their agenda. But trust me i love the club since im a child.
