Hi eds and fellow reds. who would be your choice of player to replace Salah in the summer. id love to see ollise but not sure it would be attainable. I haven't seen a lot of him but what I have seen that diomande looks a player and has openly said he wants us. so there's my picks.?

I think Olise is so lazy. I'd honestly rather go for someone who works harder. That's why I wanted Mbuemo and Semenyo.
I mean honestly we probably need to decide what we want from our wide men. If we're playing potentially with Isak AND Ekitike going forward, it may be that Wirtz and Dom are the best choices as LM and RM almost as dual 10's.
If we want to stick with wingers in more of a 4-3-3 then for me it's got to be Diomande. He looks like a special talent, he works hard, and he's already name dropped Liverpool as the club he wants to play for. I'm just not sure where it leaves Isak if we play with 1 striker going forward. Because Ekitike is better and £125m is a lot of money for an impact sub.

I honestly don't think we will be playing with out and out wingers next season.

Diomande who's a left footed right winger but can play LW aswell.

Interesting to think who might take Salah's place in the squad if he leaves in summer.
If we get some more attacking players in to replace him I wonder who we will get?
I'm not really worried because I think Isak will be back and fit for the new season, plus Wirtz and Ekitike.
It won't be hard to find more players that compliment our forward players.
I'm confident we will be in a better place by the summer, as a lot of the absentees should be back and we have new names joining us too.
Much more confident then the year when we sold Suarez to Barca. That was a bigger loss as he was bang in his prime.
The club feels in a much better place now and we can cope with Salah moving on. He's been a great player for us.

I don't know enough about Diomande to comment so I can only talk about what we already have in the squad. For me Szob should be taking his position now. Grab is a starter and Macca seems to be a favourite, whilst Wirtz is nailing down that 10 position as his own. Szob can and has in his career player a lot coming in from a wide right position into attacking positions, is very quick and is probably our best crosser, so for me he should be starting there now and if we sign no-one I wouldn't mind seeing how him being there effects our midfield balance.

What about Rio? He plays on left but he scored vs newcastle with right. So he can play Salah position too.

Bowen could be going quite cheaply in the summer. At 29 he's not the age profile but can play right wing or striker if we do play 2 up top. Hardworking, homegrown, leader and quality footballer. Could be a good option for a couple of seasons.

It depends upon what formation we play next season and who will be in charge of the team.

I've always thought Bowen would be a great addition. He may have peaked but still worth a sneaky 2 year contract if we somehow got him on the cheap.

Looking at how we have moved on wingers (Diaz, Doak) and replaced with more "attacking mids" like Wirtz, I feel like we will move to wingbacks providing the width, 2.5 (either 3 or a very deep anchor role for Grav) centre backs, and then a more narrow midfield in the not too distant future.
If that is the path we take then maybe Szob, Wirtz, Gakpo, Chiesa (or his replacement), Isak / Ekitike would play as the wide-ish CAMs without any proper wide attackers like Salah.
