Being serious for a second. @Man of todd raises an interesting point about the nature of the football business. I consider myself to be a decent person, contribute to charities, in my free time I have been president of the local football club and done a bit of unpaid admin work for a couple of charitable causes, but, hand on heart if somebody came along and said we'll offer you a three year contract and pay you £500, 000 for doing a job that I am qualified to do and have been doing for years I'd have a hard time saying 'no thanks' and I think that would be true for nearly everybody, if not all the people, I know.
Of course, in this case, the issue is the underlying reason for paying so much. The issue isn't about Ronaldo, the issue is how do the Qatari's and Saudi's et al justify the outlay and what do they expect in return. Another equally intriguing issue is how does the game's governing body allow such things to happen. I actually wrote a letter to Infantiono but the rude reply I got was that he was busy in his secondary role of carrying Trump's luggage around the world.

I consider myself to be an even better person, I contribute to 104 charities, and in my free time I have been known to walk rescue puppies and I've done a bit of DJing at the local donkey sanctuaries, even releasing a charity single for Fur Friends For Furbabies, and if someone offered me half a million pounds to write shorter, less self-promoting sentences, I would take it.
