I'm not one to usually complain about referees but it seemed like every decision went city's way yesterday. Silva pulled mo back in the box but it's not enough for a foul. Dom pulled haaland back (not even enough to knock him over) and it is a foul. Either both pulls are fouls or both are not!
Gakpo goes to shoot and gets taken out by the city defender at the time he gets the head injury. Never gets mentioned because he hits the ball away anyway. Allison takes out the city player who also kicked the ball out of play and it's a foul. Again why is one of these a foul and one not?

I have not seen 1 replay of Chiesa appearing to be fouled prior to their breakaway 3rd.

Exactly mate, in real time I was shouting for a penalty but not once did we see a reply of it! Think it was mentioned in commentary at the time as well! Ref decisions determine the outcome of most games tbh! If the ref sends guehi off instead of a yellow I don't think many would complain.
If he gives that pull on mo a pen again I don't think there can be many complaints!

Silva also got away with a flying karate kick at Wirtz, which should have seen a red. Doesn't make up for the fact we were awful but the referees performance was one of the worst I've seen since that game at Spurs.

I had actually forgotten about that one viktor, it's a yellow for pulling someone down or tripping them to stop an attack, and still only a yellow for lunging waist height when your clearly not even trying to get the ball. And your right, we are were we deserve to be this season and that's on us, not the officials.

I'm not really convinced by the we were robbed narrative, definitely a few subjective calls made but I don't think any were in the robbed category. Silva defenitely grabbed Salah a bit just as Salah was about to shoot but I personally think it was on the right side of the decision, have I seen them given Yes but have I seen Konate or Virgil doing similar or barging a player while striking the ball to put them off 100%.
The Salah DOGSO shout is a stretch, were the commentators full of rubbish in saying that Salah wasn't going to reach the ball ABSOLUTELY but let's be clear City's defender was coming over to cover and Salah wasn't directly in front of that goal, I personally would be raging if that was given as a red against us. Have seen some questionable decisions like that been given but that doesn't mean I agree with them and want to see them happen again even if it's in our favour.
Red card, ref had no choice, he tried his best to let play go on but the rules are the rules, haaland fouled Szob who in turn couldn't clear the ball so the ref had no choice but to go back to the original foul which was a clear DOGSO. Don't like the rules but on another day at 1:1 city could have had a goal disallowed, a free kick been awarded instead and a red issued ultimately costing them 2 points. Swings and roundabouts really and decision benefited nobody although still correct.
Just want to say I'm no ref apologist but we lost that game because of our performance, we got our noses ahead and sat back, we didn't take out chances and then dint follow our men when defending.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Dow-ney

Agreed. Silva should have also been sent off - 1st he did the cynical stop break, then he stopped Ali taking a quick kick, before late in game booked.
Just saying. doesn't excuse some woeful performances. We seem worse with more rest.

VV, Hooper was desperate vs Newcastle and that was just last week.

Dow-ney, I agree all of the decisions were subjective. Maybe 6 or 7 subjective decisions in the game all went in city's favour tho! The salah penalty shout is for the exact same thing dom did on haaland and it was a clear foul! We will never know if salah would have scored before being fouled outside the box because guehi obviously thought he was in so pulled him back before he got in the box!
We weren't great yesterday, but results can really change people's opinions on a game of football, if the ref sends guehi off I don't think city can complain too much. If he gives salah the penalty they can't really complain either, these are 50/ 50 calls and we probably go on and win the game.
