Been looking at the remaining fixtures and it will be tough but there is a chance we could still get top 5. There is a period where those above us all play eachother within a short period of time so we would have to win a lot of games.

Saying that I personally believe that if Slot goes out the f. a cup and loses the UCL game they will get rid as nothing to play for.

Just accept it over mate, it'll be easier in the long run haha. You can't expect us to go on a winning run till end of season. We might of had an unbeaten run as people banded on about for weeks. However that is half the reason we are in this state. The fact that some fans were happy with that is the worse thing for me.

We've been embarrassed several times this season and fans should not accept that. In all honesty we have been woeful and don't deserve top 4/ 5. The new players and szob have been my highlights. Been the odd special game. But we've played some absolute gash too.

Out of interest, what do you expect fans to do, Magico? I'm genuinely intrigued to know.

Magico - that's not a bad position to take lol my slight variation of that has been months ago accepting that we aren't a title-chasing team and to expect ups and downs all season.

Rome, fans can vent their frustration as much as they like. Simply acting like a docile rose tinted optimist does nothing.

09 Feb 2026 22:38:49
Voice their opinions Rome, inside the stadium or out of it. What other choice is there? Fans won't stop going to games because it's so bloody hard to get tickets that they'll of already payed hundreds of pounds upfront.

Frode, I'm neither optimistic and certainly not docile. I didn't detect much frustration there yesterday. There were no boos at the end of the game. I'm as pissed off as you. Where I differ is I that I think players should also share some of the stick.

Anyone who isn't already over Slot ought to be the amount of wins we've had in the last few months, we're being spun transition nonsense by the apologists when at the beginning of the season everyone had us down to walk the league, and to be honest we should have if it wasn't for Slots stubborness.

Its not acceptable to keep saying ah he'll be gone when we've no chance left. Hows that going to serve a potential incoming manager or player? Whose coming for the Europa league?
Its beyond insanity now and needs sorting and quick.

Keegans Perm - Chelsea, in 5th, are likely to finish on around 65 points. In order for us to beat that, we'd need 8 wins 3 draws 2 losses or 7 wins 6 draws. We still have to play Chelsea, United, Everton, Villa, Brentford, Fulham, Palace and Sunderland who are all more than capable of beating or taking points off us. So while 5th is technically possible, it's very unlikely given our form and injuries.

Magico1234 - Fully agree mate. Anyone on here who was touting that "unbeaten run" nonsense was living in lalaland. The whole "you have to be optimistic" and "you have to support your manager" drivel is nothing more than delusion, if we listened to those fools, then surely Rodgers should still be at the helm. The fans who talk all that nonsense always end up switching sides in the end. The funny thing is that I see a lot of the Slot fanboys quietly changing their tune, shifting their position ever so slowly now that reality is finally kicking in. I agree the fans are absolutely part to blame, the acceptance of mediocrity will be the downfall of the club, there's no silver lining in competition, no consolation prizes, you either win or you lose, that's it. As fans, it's our duty to set the standards for what's deemed acceptable, I will support my club through thick and thin but that passion will never dilute my standards or delude my judgement.
