I've a feeling normal service will resume after these comments from Slot "We only have 60 hours of rest after putting in an enormous physical performance."
21 Mar 2026 11:34:15
I agree because I believe his demeanour transfers to the players. That's why I don't care how many games he wins; I want him gone.
21 Mar 2026 12:12:52
I think we put 4 past Brighton, and the away fans, as usual, will be brilliant.
Come on the Reds.
21 Mar 2026 12:15:54
Agreed. It's not the message to be sending. Any manager probably says the same after a late kick-off Wednesday to midday Saturday. I expect a win, as Brighton try to play a bit and will leave gaps. Hopefully we go hell for leather and put a few past them.
21 Mar 2026 12:19:36
"I don't care how many games he wins, I want him gone"
That is a pretty moronic statement and shows where society Is nowadays with such polarising views. Once you've nailed your colours to a mast, there's literally no solid evidence which will alter your opinion.
I get it's unlikely he will revert to the style we all crave a get the results this team is capable of. But you don't need to be so pig headed
21 Mar 2026 12:41:41
On a side note, ha ha ha, to Harry Maguire describing his red card as soft: what exactly makes it soft? There is no such thing; it either is or isn't. He made no attempt to play the ball and deserved it. Why don't the referees penalise players who are guilty of mobbing, especially Fernandes, who is one of, if not the worst, at it.
21 Mar 2026 13:55:25
Changingofthegvardiol, nothing moronic about it at all. Slot's done far too much wrong this season to justify keeping him on because he wins a handful of games at the end of the season. The inept tactics, questionable decisions, ridiculous statements, shocking form, inability to get the best out of players, the unforgivable lack of conditioning, the whole set piece debacle, questions of too much time off, rumours of players taking it upon themselves to do extra sessions...
The list is almost endless.
He's given us countless reasons to see he's just not the man for the job. If you're given £450 million worth of top talent and fail to get a tune out of a team that just won the Premier League, bringing them on their worst run of form in 70 years, then winning a handful of games certainly isn't enough to repair the damage.
21 Mar 2026 14:10:54
Can confirm normal service has been resumed.
Regardless of the result today, I think it's time for Arne to go.
21 Mar 2026 14:30:36
I purposely don't watch the pressers now, but it was a late KO so got caught out switching the channel.
In his interview, he just said, "We have 8 games to go and I don't think we need to win those 8."
Uuuummm, what?
21 Mar 2026 14:33:29
Success absolutely ruins some people's enjoyment of the game.
Yes, this season has been disappointing, but the lack of anything approaching support from some people is childish.
I assume that those who feel the need to tell everyone every day that they want the manager gone aren't old enough to remember the majority of seasons before Klopp, going all the way back to the early 90s, where the season was effectively over in terms of major honours by January.
21 Mar 2026 14:38:00
Wonder, will they sack him now, or give him another 3 year contract to finish the demolition job he's so brilliantly undertaken?
21 Mar 2026 14:40:46
How you all feeling after that performance against bloody Brighton?
21 Mar 2026 14:44:26
So, Semibythesea3.
What exactly do you enjoy about our style of play?
I support the team .. there are bad runs .. we have bad runs ... but let's have it right ..
We are awful, playing the worst football I can remember .. and yes that includes the 90s ...
What I myself find enraging is that Slot knows that we can't play this way, it doesn't work, but refuses to change.
Last season he tweaked and was flexible and it was a breath of fresh air .. we could compete against all types of teams and style of play ..
Then our manager had a meltdown for some reason no one can understand, and repeatedly sets up the team to play this way ..
21 Mar 2026 14:42:15
You sir are absolutely clueless. We were rubbish in the past therefore we should accept being rubbish now. Some logic er hi
21 Mar 2026 14:57:27
Semi, give it a rest, mate. No one is buying the "euughhh be grateful" nonsense. Liverpool aren't some underdog club that might win a cup every few seasons; they are a financial and historical powerhouse that should be challenging every season, and fans should damn well be demanding the club is managed properly to prevent it becoming the left-behind backwater it became in the 90s/00s.
Slot has done an appalling job this season, and I am utterly sick of him and the players letting the fans down every week while the club does nothing about it.
21 Mar 2026 14:59:45
Semi, we tried to support the manager after a positive performance against Galatasaray, even though we all knew (not everyone said as much, but we all knew) there was a good chance we'd revert to type today.
Fans aren't morons. They're not going to applaud a football style that doesn't work, especially when the players we have have demonstrated that they can do so much better.
21 Mar 2026 15:01:38
MightyR3ds, There's nothing he could say now that would surprise me, nothing at all. Somebody should have been writing scripts for the lad. I find it hard to remember a Liverpool manager who talked quite as much waffle as Arne.
Semibythesea3, Success doesn't ruin enjoyment.
You know what the most enjoyable part of competition is? Winning. If you're happy losing to Brighton, then that's cool, you do you, but trying to paint other fans with your own mediocre brush is senseless.
21 Mar 2026 15:08:18
"Should be challenging every year".
This is sport, there is no should. You sound like most United fans for the last decade.
21 Mar 2026 15:45:19
When you spend £450m in the summer, you actually should be challenging, Semi. No excuses.
21 Mar 2026 15:07:02
I never said I was calling for him to stay or that I think he is doing a great job.
After the first 5 wins of this season you were probably on the Liverpool are going to walk the league bandwagon but I, and others could see there was a hammering coming, granted I didn't think it would be 7 hammerings in a row but that is the reality of how football works.
Nor did I say that because in the past Liverpool were poor we should accept mediocrity.
Reading is fun, when you know how to do it properly, you should try it bigdoc. Is your weekend ruined now? Maybe you should pick a different hobby that doesn't affect you so negatively.
My point was that no team wins everything any year, let alone every year and the constant bleating of the same old cr*p every day is about as tedious as it gets.
Like I said, this season has been disappointing, but it is what it is, no matter how much you stamp your feet and post "reasons why slot has to go now!" Comments, it ain't going to change a thing.
Slot will be gone in the summer and the club will go again with a new manager.
FFS some people on here want Stevie G until the end of the season! That would be an unmitigated disaster.
Look ahead to next season, there's a world cup over the summer, get some fresh air and try to not let the results of a sports team make you look so emotionally fragile.
21 Mar 2026 15:16:29
Oh semi behave. Utter rubbish you're spouting. Many of us remember darker days and it has zero bearing on what's happening. The football, the performances, the running, the fitness, the tactics and importantly the manager are woeful. If you don't think someone can get a better tune out of these players then you cannot be helped.
21 Mar 2026 16:53:38
I am not even convinced that Slot won't be here next season.
