Did you guys see the two goals Wirtz got in for Germany yesterday. Germany were trash but we got ourselves a player!
I can't believe what slotball is doing to this lad! He can literally shoot from anywhere but is probably not allowed to by slot.

Don't most of our players thrive when playing for their country?
....

Yeah, I can hear Slot say to Wirtz, "Don't you dare shoot." Dear oh dear.

Sounds like some crazy thing Slot would say, shooting goes against his philosophy of slow ponderous football. Funny thing is - it's the perfect counter to those dreaded low blocks.

Analysing matches with Wirtz saying "See? This is what I'm talking about, Florian.
You can't be shooting when there's a recycling opportunity to Curtis Jones." ? C'mon lads, would it not have something to do with the fact that for a large part of the season he was taking an age to get his shots off as if he thought he was still in Leverkusen and they were getting blocked?

No doubt he's a very good player, just needs to adapt to the pace of the prem for us to see the best of him. A firing Isak will help his game as well.

Any club manager worth their salt should watch how Wirtz plays for Germany and pick a team around him that plays to his strengths.

If MU or City or Gunners or Chelsea signed him and if he had same output, we would be laughing at them.
He looks class and very good, but hasn't lived up to generational talent status.
We need to accept the fact that every ordinary player is called world class.

We need to accept that Slot has hamstrung the side beyond recognition and the players no longer want to play for him.

I agree, Sami. I actually think Wirtz will come good, and has already started to. But if he had signed for any other team we would be slaughtering him.

Sami, and you deduced all of that after his season under a disaster of a system he plays in under a feckless manager, right?
IMO, the fact that Wirtz has been good overall this season (despite his adaptation struggles which are normal, btw) under the afore-mentioned circumstances just proves how outstanding of a talent he actually is.
And if you think "Flo" is just an ordinary player then, that tells me you know very little of him before he came here. And this is coming from someone who watched a good amount of him the season they went invincible under Alonso. He is no ordinary player, I promise you that.
