First game of the season who's in the dugout.What's your gut feeling Ed001 mate,

Iraola
Hoenes
Slot

{Ed001's Note - I think it will be either Hoeness or Slot. I hope Mike Gordon has stepped up to sort out the mess and get rid of Slot, but I have this nasty feeling we will see Slot out there for a few weeks, before he gets the push.}

Iraola.

Won't happen ED01. Imo only. They could not be that dumb to do so. Couldn't be. If they are well we are well and truly up that creek!!

20 May 2026 11:14:46
Oooof Ed, we don't like that nasty feeling at all.

After last night's performance against City, it's no surprise to see the pro-Iraola lobby growing among the fans. My concern would be (i) the number of low blocks we face and (ii) the size of the squad required to deliver that type of football every 3 days. Will we invest or promote youth to support that game model? I don't trust Hughes and Edwards at all at this point as they focus on preserving their myth.

You have any idea what's happening with Iraola Ed001 mate?

{Ed001's Note - looks like Palace, they are putting his kids into a private Spanish language school in London, as part of the problem his missus had was the kids schooling.}

I'd love to see Darwin back in the dugout next season, god knows we will need the cover up front. In all seriousness I hope we do the right thing this weekend and put Arne out of his misery, he can't be happy with the way things are going.

Damaging his own brand at the same time, thanks for the title and we wish you well in all of your future day-off clubbing adventures.

Don't ruin my summer like that Ed

20 May 2026 11:55:21
London is awash with international schools. It is a city where they can find a solution. So, for Iraola, it came down to whatever gig was available in London.

20 May 2026 12:01:14
What about Mick & Dick, is there any chance that they will be replaced? They could potentially ruin it for the new guy.

20 May 2026 12:39:16
@Ed001, don't you think it is a sideways move? I really wanted to see hm at a bigger club. I guess he really prioritises his family over all this.

{Ed001's Note - I would say it is even a step down.}

20 May 2026 13:00:12
That's what I heard Ed 1 did post it, they wanted there kids taught in Spanish

20 May 2026 13:30:20
Ed, do the owner or person in charge of manager's future usually take players input into consideration? My big concern is Van Dijk as a captain is really quiet in all of this. I guess he's #Slotin instead of #Slotout.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the situation. Also depends on the owner.}

20 May 2026 16:47:36
Fair play to Iraola putting his kids first, total respect to the man.

If more people did that, this country would be a better place.

20 May 2026 15:24:53
It's hard to believe that Iraola would join Palace ahead of the other gigs he could be offered. It certainly does seem a definite step down like ED01 says, but it will be a serious coup for Palace. I can't say I won't be sick if it materialises because I will be.
