Hello Ed's, I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend. I posted some months back about a friend of mine who works as a scout in the north-east, and he mentioned that he had seen someone from Liverpool looking at two players - one being João Palhinha and the other being Iliman Ndiaye. If we were to lose Fabinho I could see the sense in looking to Palhinha, are you aware of any interest? Thanks for all of the effort as always.
{Ed002's Note - Joao Palhinha (DM/CM) Only moved last summer and Fulham will not look to sell unless a huge offer is made and the player asks for a move. It is known that Wolves still see him as a potential Neves replacement with Manchester United, West Ham and Newcastle sending scouts - and all declaring an interest. Could be seen as a Fabinho replacement for Liverpool or even an alternative to Bellingham but right now I am not aware of interest being declared by them. Aston Villa offer a less attractive option.
Iliman Ndiaye (S) Everton will likely lose out to Marseille for the Sheffield United forward.

Good evening Ed's, I heard from a friend that we have scouted two players recently - Iliman Ndiaye from Sheffield United and Fulham's João Palhinha. Admittedly I know little more than nothing about either player although I've seen Palhinha play and he looks tidy, and my Sunderland-supporting pals mentioned Ndiaye to me recently as being one of the best players in the Championship. Are either on our radar to the best of your knowledge? Thanks, hope all of you Ed's and Reds are well.
{Ed002's Note - Not as far as I know.}

Mount was not even in Chelseas euro squad last night, tik tok although i don't use it are saying he was flirting and training at Miami University in January with Jorghino who has also left Chelsea recently.
So looks like he is not signing a new contract, he can't be that bad he is an England international.
2.) 08 Mar 2023 21:16:31
Mason Mount was suspended for the game last night that's why he wasn't in the squad. It appears you are more Johnny English than James Bond.
3.) 08 Mar 2023 21:21:25
007, is that irony mate? Shaw, Maguire and Grealish, who cost @ 215 m to buy are current England players and they are sub-optimal footballers.
4.) 08 Mar 2023 23:55:12
Turn it in he has only just got back from injury and half you would sell him, the reason we have lost the league by a point or two over last couple of years is because we only had a good first team 14 odd players all asking for a squad like city’s but quite happy to sell him. We paid 40 million I think in todays market that gets you Anthony Gordon or your 70 million gets you richarlson. Be careful what you wish for.
5.) 09 Mar 2023 03:23:59
The reason why we lost the league by 1 or 2 points the last couple of seasons was because we were up against a team that is now being investigated for cooking up their financial records.

@Scouse John and @Dracred are your posts meant for this thread?
7.) 09 Mar 2023 08:13:52
Sorry WDW, I think it's meant for the thread below ?.

Thanks Ed002.

No worries lads - it’s just at my time of life I’m never sure if it’s just me or not ??.

Hi Ed's, I hope you are all well. A colleague of mine in Frankfurt tells me that we have an interest in Amadou Haidara. I seem to remember a vague rumour a few years ago that we were keen, but haven't heard anything since. Is he on our radar at all? Thank you for all of the info as always.
{Ed002's Note - The interest has been from two other PL clubs.}

Hi Eds and Reds
I've just seen Gabriel Mercado linked with us again (mainstream news), is there any truth in it or just recycled rumours? Have a great day.
{Ed002's Note - River Plate's Gabriel Mercado has cancelled his agreed move to Monterrey in Mexico. If Klipperty is interested in a pretty average Argentinian right back who they would need to pay well over the odds for in both transfer fee and wages in order to try and get a work permit then it makes zero sense to me. Unless Clyne or Flanagan are going to move on as he will also take up a none home grown slot in the squad. But then Klopp thought Caulker a good move?}
1.) 05 Jul 2016 13:46:29
Thanks Ed002, hopefully in that case we leave well alone. I'm hoping that Flanagan can get back to his best personally, at least to challenge LB or RB slot. Have a great day, thanks for the reply.
2.) 05 Jul 2016 14:18:17
I agree, it would be a very strange one. He's 29 and no better than what we have. Makes no sense at all.
We have Clyne, Flanagan, Gomez, Randall and even Wisdom.
If we were to sign a right-back I assume it would be an upgrade on what we have, this guy is not that.

Hi Eds, hope you're all well.
Please ask me to post elsewhere if you find this irrelevant here - I have a question regarding the structure that clubs have in place to handling transfers, from start to finish, scouting upwards. I'm familiar with the structure at Liverpool and have read here of the problems it has had in the past. Are there guidelines/ rules around how clubs should set-up their transfer committee, and do you have an opinion on which clubs are operating better than most in this area? Please let me know if you've answered this previously and I'll search. Cheers, have a top day. A.
{Ed002's Note - There are no guidelines and there is no need for a TRansfer committee and it varies on a club-by-club basis. This has been discussed before so perhaps searching will help. Some clubs have a Director of Football/Sports Director and their reponsibility varies. Some have a transfer committee, some don't allow anty input from the manager/coach, some allow some inut and a few let him have a free hand.}

Thanks Ed002, appreciated. I'll try searching again.

I mentioned this player a while ago, a pal of mine who scouts for a couple of the north-east clubs said that Liverpool had also been watching him. True or not I don’t know.

Thanks Ed002.

If we do get to the final you’ll see exactly that from Newcastle players too. They’re probably worse than Arsenal in that respect tbh.

“Who are they? ” (If you aren’t old enough to have seen the tv advert then google it) .

Great profile, and a fantastic player at his peak. Sad to see him in decline but hopefully he will settle in SA. My pal now refers to him as ‘Saudio Money’, a bit disrespectful if you ask me. Cheers Ed001.
{Ed001's Note - maybe cheeky but funny though.}

Litmanen for me. Classy player.

I'd love a 2017 version of Didi in the team at the minute.
