We have (apparently) been watching Patrick Roberts and Chris Rigg at Sunderland. Rigg is not surprising as he is highly regarded as one to watch. It’s not the first time his name has been mentioned as being of interest. This is from someone in the Sunderland scouting network, no other info other than we are keen on Rigg in particular. At 18 may be a buy now and loan back situation and to see how he fares in the.
1.) 24 Jun 2025 16:20:22
Cut myself off there - to see how he fares in the PL this year.
2.) 24 Jun 2025 16:48:09
You're more than a decade late with the Patrick Roberts interest.
3.) 24 Jun 2025 16:54:16
Rumoured interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham, Everton, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Lazio in addition to us.
4.) 24 Jun 2025 17:14:40
We are not interested in Roberts.
5.) 24 Jun 2025 17:21:20
Patrick Roberts and Alex Teixeira double signing, let's party like it's 2016.
6.) 24 Jun 2025 17:25:01
Roberts was news to me too, I’ve been told countless times in the last year that we like Rigg. What’s that saying, don’t shoot the messenger?
7.) 24 Jun 2025 20:50:00
Simao I don’t think we’re interested in Patrick Roberts.
18 Jun 2025 16:23:54
Jaros out on loan to Ajax ??.
1.) 18 Jun 2025 17:17:27
Should have also mentioned he has signed a new contract with us.
2.) 18 Jun 2025 17:26:39
Great move for Jaros, will have a good career. May never be considered good enough to be No.1 for us but should at least bring in a few shillings at some stage.
3.) 18 Jun 2025 22:16:44
Agreed. ?.
05 Jun 2025 16:13:38
Kerkez out of the Hungary squad for tomorrow’s fixture ?.
1.) 05 Jun 2025 16:30:50
ACL JR.
2.) 05 Jun 2025 17:02:17
He looked well enough on his IG post earlier today, lots of talk about him being in Liverpool today/ tomorrow for a medical. All guesswork!
3.) 05 Jun 2025 17:02:38
"It has been speculated that Kerkez could now be on his way for a medical before completing the formalities of a move which has long been anticipated. A private jet was tracked flying from Budapest to Liverpool on Wednesday evening, which could now align with Rossi’s update on Kerkez no longer being with the squad. "
4.) 05 Jun 2025 17:10:34
if both GAKPO and DIAZ want too leave then sell them and buy JAMAL MUSIALLA and MICHEAL OLISE of BAYERN 1 as averaged a GOAL every 2.5 GAMES and the other as averaged a GOAL every 3 GAMES that's a better average then FLORIEN WIRTZ.
5.) 05 Jun 2025 18:17:26
Consider it done John.
6.) 05 Jun 2025 18:50:11
Sounds easy.
7.) 05 Jun 2025 18:59:59
John 511111, I should think so! they are out and out wingers, Florian is in a different position as an Attacking "MIDFIELDER", so you can't compare like for like in different team positions and more importantly relative Leagues?
However you "MAYBE"? could compare like for like against Gakpo,49 games,18 goals =2.72% goals per game, and Diaz 50 games,17 goals= 2.94% goals per game, so neck and neck as a pair Premier V Bundesliga, though one must consider the Bundesliga is a poor league standard compared to the Premier and the Premier plays 38 games a season, Bundesliga 34 games a season and ONE whole months winter break, so Bayerns pair are more rested, easier full backs to face, and by four games less last season, and four weeks feet up in front of the fire in the German winter time, and no willy warmers to knit!
Please consider this also if Arne does not want traditional Left wingers in this season's side? then he might be going to copy the very great LFC side of 1978-79 (4-4-2), whose four midfield players were Case, Mcdermott, Souness, Kennedy, so no out and out pacy wingers (their game was based on ball domination i. e. "Pass and Move" the Liverpool Groove! ), that team out of 42 league games won thirty and drew eight, lost 4 away, none at Anfield, and only conceded 16 goals which was a record till Chelsea broke it under Maureen (2004-05) with 15 goals conceded though the premier was only 38 games a season as it is next season.
Perhaps he is going four midfield players as Sir Bob Paisley did above as follows: "DOM"-ination, Gravy, Alexis, Wirtz and up top: Salah and Lau-TAROT martinez (personally I don't envisage any imminent movement for Lau-TAROT till Inzhagis replacement Chivu possibly? has his feet under the desk for a couple of weeks, and has a new personal secretary for the typing of transfer paperwork?
8.) 05 Jun 2025 19:09:33
As simple as popping into Tesco for a pint of milk.
9.) 05 Jun 2025 21:39:39
@007, a genuinely remarkable post sir, which is quite the feat on the forum, especially during a transfer window. If I had a hat on I would take it off i and doff it deference to your comments.
10.) 05 Jun 2025 22:11:42
Loving the calculations 007 of goals per game.
'Gakpo,49 games,18 goals =2.72% goals per game, and Diaz 50 games,17 goals= 2.94% goals per game'.
Try calculating the other way around (Gakpo = 0.37 and Diaz 0.34). Both pretty solid numbers for wingers.
29 May 2025 12:55:49
Bryan Mbeumo under consideration should Isak be impossible. ?.
1.) 29 May 2025 13:11:37
Should add I’m not sure there’s any truth in this as he’s not really an out-and-out CF, just passing on as another rumour. Decent enough player but not sure he is what we need.
2.) 29 May 2025 13:13:06
Can't see that myself, to be honest. Where did you get that from Jr?
Given the versatility of the forwards we either have and are definitely not going anywhere this summer (in Mo and Cody - ignore the Bayern nonsense! ) I would strongly believe that we are after a specialist striker this summer. We hopefully have Wirtz who can cover all 4 forward roles, and Mbeumo plays in Salah's position, not up front.
I do, however, remember someone mentioning whether Salah could move to CF, but I don't understand why you'd take the world's best RW (well, in the top 3!) and move him to another positon?
3.) 29 May 2025 13:18:45
This is looking like ‘one of those windows’.
As Rafa would put it, I wanted a sofa and they bought me a lampshade.
From Isak and Wirtz to Gyokeres and Mbeumo.
Pitchforks ready!
4.) 29 May 2025 13:18:57
I have a couple of scout friends, one currently working for Sunderland and the other Newcastle. Just something one of them had heard over the weekend.
5.) 29 May 2025 13:32:40
Ron, I don't understand what you are saying? What makes you think that we aren't getting Wirtz? The transparent RM mouthpiece propaganda?
Don't buy the bollox!
6.) 29 May 2025 13:33:36
Are they washing cars, Jr?
7.) 29 May 2025 13:41:41
Not sure I get you Rigsby, but they are certainly not washing cars. ?.
8.) 29 May 2025 13:43:47
I don’t remember anyone from Liverpools management saying we are after Isak or Wirtz.
So why would we be disappointed if they don’t join?
9.) 29 May 2025 13:44:38
He is primarily a RW but can also play CF. The guy scored 20 goals with an xG of 12.3 making him the biggest xG overperformer in the PL. He also had 7 assists and is only 25. I would say he ticks most boxes so I don't think it is a horrendous shout.
That said I would still prefer us to sign a more recognised CF/ ST.
10.) 29 May 2025 13:55:54
I theorised Salah moving to cf.
Not for any othe reason but to save his legs and energy as he gets older while still enjoying his exceptional talent to both score and pass.
For the record - love Mbuemo. See a lot of similarities both playing style and career to Mane.
No idea if we will or should get him though.
11.) 29 May 2025 14:01:39
Zed - so we just believe some random names on a rumours page?
No disrespect to anyone but you pick your poison and no official word has come from anyone.
It’s the slow inevitability of it all. One week he’s all but signed he’s just on his holidays (sorry, I’m not having that) and the next week Madrid are trying to hijack it.
We know how this drama unfolds. He’ll go to Madrid, otherwise he would have signed for Liverpool last week.
12.) 29 May 2025 14:02:03
Agreed Shipley. Maybe under consideration due to his versatility.
13.) 29 May 2025 14:16:10
Rigsby means cub scouts I think.
14.) 29 May 2025 14:26:41
I'd be happy with Mbuemo, I think he'd be a good addition.
15.) 29 May 2025 14:30:53
My son is doing some clever maths with the xG data, I might come back with more details about Mbeumo.
16.) 29 May 2025 15:23:56
Some posters have stated only recently they only want World Class Players signed, the more the better everyone would say, and who could argue, but what a waste if that was LFCs transfer policy today and in the past as it means we may never of signed or seen: Keegan, Rush, Dalglish, Souness, Torres, Suarez and Salah and many many more.
Some posters want the Moon? I am sorry to say they haven't made ladders long enough yet!
17.) 29 May 2025 16:01:23
Apologies I missed the Scout pun, snowed under at work and had a sense of humour failure ?.
18.) 29 May 2025 16:05:18
1jj seriously? do you honestly think LFC are going to divulge their current transfer targets to the whole footballing world to know about!
Liverpool Football Club will only reveal a signing when all the transfer paperwork is legally signed on the dotted line,
good custom and practice my old boy!
19.) 29 May 2025 16:20:35
The xG Data was also used on a certain Darwin Nunez one would suspect
The Data when the player actually leaves LFC is much more important than the Data on him when he arrives.
Players don't play on laptops, calculators, or an abacus etc they all play on Grass/ Artificial Pitches, always have done.
20.) 29 May 2025 17:14:50
"Zed - so we just believe some random names on a rumours page? " - Ron, no but I am believing the swell of reports coming from lots of different site that he is coming.
The RM gaslighting has just started up in the last 24 hours and all the reports are originating from RM sympathetic sites, just like the Bayern rumours about Gakpo have just sprung up too.
Its part of the dance!
As you say, each to their own, but I am very much choosing to stay excited about our first 3 signings, who I expect will be confirmed in the next few days, and stay excited about who else will join them.
21.) 29 May 2025 17:18:02
007 - with respect, scouts do talk to each other. My friend who works at Newcastle (also watching Mbeumo) mentioned that LFC had a rep there too, presumably for the same player. Nothing to do with LFC disclosing their transfer targets, which I didn’t state. I said he was under consideration, and the rest is just common sense. We are also still trying to sign Isak if possible, but that’s been widely known for an age. Hope that clarifies.
22.) 29 May 2025 17:38:19
What you want is a player who scores often but either meets or is under is xg (if using that metric) if someone over performs xg it suggests he's having a 'lucky' season and will likely score less next year.
23.) 29 May 2025 17:49:36
To all those playing down the Madrid links, please ask yourself why he hasn’t signed a multi-million pound contract to Liverpool yet?
Because he’s on his holidays?
Sorry that’s pure fantasy.
He wouldn’t interrupt a holiday to sign a huge contract? Do me a favour.
His agent is using us to flush out interest from other teams and it seems Madrid have obliged.
Otherwise, he’d have signed already. It’s Caicedo all over again.
24.) 29 May 2025 18:12:23
Pipe down Ron, let’s see you come and eat a large slice of humble pie when he signs…. You won’t of course!
25.) 29 May 2025 18:25:33
Nunez came from Benifica not a major league like EPL. Mbeumo is a known name in EPL. He is fast, strong and productive as a forward. Dusan Vlahosic, Ekitike, Sesko etc are yet to prove they can succeed in EPL. Let us hope the rumours are true. I wish we have Salah and Mbeumo or Bowen in LFC attack. Sounds like a mirage but could be dangerous to other teams.
26.) 29 May 2025 18:39:42
I like Wirtz but I prefer us buying a good player for a moderate fee such as Salah and Suarez to any big deal. If he decided not to sign for LFC like Zubimendi and Caicedo. We can still spend the big money on other big players remember Frankfurt got Ekitike for just $ or €19m.
27.) 29 May 2025 19:04:58
@Nevada There are always different ways to interpret the stats (lies, damn lies and statistics and all) but over performing could also be seen as clinical. I've asked my son to look at the stats for Mbeumo and asked him for some comparisons with Nunez. I fully expect Nunez to be under so perhaps lots of people will want to buy him :)
28.) 29 May 2025 19:34:41
I would love mbeumo. Think he's what the squad needs. A back up for mo/ rotation and can fill in at cf. if required.
If we are loosing nunez and elliot
Possible offers for Diaz or diogo. Then its a great addition.
I would still like one more if we did loose and 3rd player from the forwards/ attack minded options.
Wirtz has so much ability and skills I can't wait for the new season to see what way we set up if we can get that deal over the line. With the new "more" attacking wingback options. it sounds like we are in for a great ride ?.
29.) 29 May 2025 19:53:00
Hello Jr_1977, my "Sincerest Apologies" I have mistakenly taken the opposite view? but now fully interpret your correct meaning.
I would "happily" think of your 1977 reference as our finest ever European Cup Win, as it was the first of six gold stars, I was most fortunate to witness the event, hopefully Arne can achieve 7 gold stars in the seasons to come.
Rome 1977 and Istanbul 2005 were both on the same day 25 May, next years European Cup Final is an incentive for "DOM"-ination and Kerkez hopefully, it's in the Ferenc Puskas Stadium, Budapest 30 May 2026.
30.) 29 May 2025 20:57:37
A tenner says he signs for us ron.
31.) 29 May 2025 21:13:44
Not a betting man but I doubt it. Otherwise he would have already.
32.) 29 May 2025 21:24:18
So, looking at the xG stats for the Premier League,
Mbeumo:
Most likely to have scored 12 goals, actually scored 20. Of the extra 8 goals we think probably 4 due to luck and 4 due to being clinical
Took 85 shots and scores approximately 1 every 4 shots.
He would have been expected to score 1 goal every 280 minutes and actually scored 1 every 171 minutes
Nunez:
Most likely to have scored 6 goals, actually scored 5. Of the 1 goal less we think that was probably due to being unlucky.
Took 34 shots and scores approximately 1 every 7 shots.
He would have been expected to score 1 goal every 191 minutes and actually scored 1 goal every 224 minutes.
Ta :)
33.) 29 May 2025 22:10:00
Ron, with your outlook on life, I wouldn't be a betting man either. Go on tell us how happy you would be if, in the really really unlikely event, he did actually decide to not stay at Leverkusen, not go to bayern, and not go to Madrid and come to us instead. No. nothing. I'll get my coat!
34.) 30 May 2025 04:43:32
@Ron, if RM wanted Wirtz, AS and Marca would have been building him up and his link to their new managers arrival since the start of last season. Wirtz can be on holiday having said he wants to join us and just need to show up and sign on the dotted line when the clubs have agreed the financials etc. you may have missed it but there was an incident at the start of the week when a ‘troubled’ individual drove into spectators at the parade in the enter of the city. It’s not beyond the imagination of those who have a modicum of empathy that the club was focussed on supporting those who had been injured or traumatised by events as a priority rather than negotiating with Leverkusen. If you want to fret, have a go fretting for the people who are still hospitalised and their families.
13 Apr 2025 13:09:38
No Darwin in the squad today and not listed as injured - but good to see Bradley back. Into these today Reds YNWA.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 22:59:58
Darwin was ruled out with illness.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 23:23:47
Are you sure Arne wasn’t just sick of him?
3.) 13 Apr 2025 23:53:45
He's been offside for most of his Liverpool career.

Forgetting about any further recruitment or sales, I am really f*****g excited to see how we line up with Kerkez and Wirtz in the team. Both improve us massively on what we had last season. Frimpong offers us something new also, starting or not. It’s a brilliant time to be a Red.
03 Jun 2025 19:58:09
Wirtz has pretty much announced himself on social media, love it. ?.
1.) 03 Jun 2025 20:04:37
Class. Macca keeps the 10 then. Just get the deal done so we can all relax ?.
2.) 03 Jun 2025 20:07:29
What he say?
3.) 03 Jun 2025 20:16:20
Harry, does it matter? I though RM, Bayern or City were going to gazump us?
4.) 03 Jun 2025 20:40:16
Hours after Florian Plattenburg posted that Wirtz will be wearing the no 10 jersey at LFC, he tweeted today this lines “Who says I want the No. 10, I respect players. Don’t believe everything what’s written. ”
Regardless of what he's posting about, it's pretty exciting to see that he's desperate to pull on our shirt. Long may such players come our way and here is hoping the club can make it happen now.
5.) 03 Jun 2025 20:20:33
Yeah I had to triple check to make sure it wasn’t fake. Shows a lot of maturity from the young lad to come out and say that. Despite the price tag, he’s not going to come in with an ego and make demands, which I love. Can’t wait to see him in our kit. This really cheered me up.
6.) 03 Jun 2025 20:28:15
Isn’t he on about the German national team?
He wears 17 for them. I don’t think he’s talking about Liverpool lads.
7.) 03 Jun 2025 20:56:47
I know NK but I gave it a thought and realised no one posted a thing about the German National team so he couldn't be referring to the NT. Florian Plettenberg is from Sky Germany and he posted that specifically about LIV and hours later, he made that response. I think it definitely about LIV.
8.) 03 Jun 2025 22:15:27
Hope so Ugbes ??.
23 May 2025 16:56:41
Happy retirement to George Sephton after this weekends match. Will be weird without him, never known any other in my lifetime.
1.) 23 May 2025 17:16:49
If ever a man deserves plenty of plaudits it's our George.
2.) 23 May 2025 18:12:12
Absolutely Barry ?.
02 May 2025 14:14:22
Happy retirement to the Welsh Pirlo. ???????.
1.) 02 May 2025 15:00:45
It was the Welsh Xavi, wasn't it?
2.) 02 May 2025 17:46:01
Thought it was switched from Xabi to Pirlo when he rocked the well groomed, bellisimao beard?!
3.) 02 May 2025 18:51:24
Good little player. Best of luck to him.
4.) 02 May 2025 21:37:01
Joe Allen?
5.) 03 May 2025 14:55:13
He was known as both, I just picked one.
15 Apr 2025 17:35:37
JFT97. Thinking of all of those lost and their families and friends. And those who have tirelessly campaigned for justice. YNWA.
24 Jun 2025 17:25:01
Roberts was news to me too, I’ve been told countless times in the last year that we like Rigg. What’s that saying, don’t shoot the messenger?
24 Jun 2025 16:20:22
Cut myself off there - to see how he fares in the PL this year.
21 Jun 2025 17:53:37
Agree with that Nutter, although depending on what happens in the next few weeks we may need someone this season.
20 Jun 2025 22:45:00
Really excited about this lad. But I won’t believe it until he nutmegs vice-legs Peter Beardsley, rolls off King Kenny’s immovable arse and puts it through Djimi Traore’s teeth into the top left in front of the kop. Until then, I won’t believe it. UTFR.
20 Jun 2025 22:38:10
Duncan who? Hope it’s an autocorrect error!
24 Jun 2025 16:57:14
Thanks Ed001, I’m looking forward to seeing the lad play. And he seems like a genuinely nice lad also!
17 Jun 2025 17:54:53
Beat me to it Ed025, Sunderland is my guess also (H) .
04 Jun 2025 19:40:34
Also interested Davey, I’ll also be watching. Enjoy!
23 May 2025 18:12:12
Absolutely Barry ?.
03 May 2025 14:55:13
He was known as both, I just picked one.
