Seeing the price of Diomande rising all the time (apparently 100mil been rejected).
We really fudged it not pushing for Semenyo in Jan for half of that price. Prem proven and would have already been fully adapted to team Iraola.
Problem is, who would we pivot to now if we wanted to? There's a dearth of viable options.

Remember when we sold Suarez and got Ricky Lambert.
If Diomande is the man who we've identified to replace Salah, pay the fee.

I know. It's mad to think that out of almost 130,000 professional football players there are only 2 that could possibly be suited to playing RW for us!
It's super lucky that we are still likely to buy one of them though!

It just feels like one of them inevitable transfer now. Sagas like this usually end up with the player leaving to the obvious destination. Isak was the prime example from last summer!

I didn't say there weren't any other options as clearly there are.
What I did say is there's a dearth of gettable people in that position who will be good enough.

I still think Lambert was better than Balotelli, who was the main Suarez replacement. Which has to go down as a criminal act.
