Has anyone read Carragher’s nonsense about how we don’t need Barcola? We need a Salah replacement apparently.
Anyone with half a brain cell knows that there simply is no Salah replacement. The guy was a unicorn.
Also, Salah never did well if we had a goal scoring central striker as they took up each other's space. Now we have Isak and Ekitike. We need proper wingers who can go past people and feed the striker.
I don’t care if Barcola has been playing on the left, he could easily switch to the right if needed.
Easily. As an old school winger myself I used to play right or left, it really isn’t much of a difference and depends what the manager wants.
If you want your wingers to be your main goalscorers then you invert them so they can cut in to score. If you want them to supply the strikers you have them go on the outside and put the ball in the box.
Barcola is the best natural winger available we’d be stupid to let the opportunity pass us by just because he’s been playing on the left.

I remember before Salah came, Mane was the rw, and Mane shifted and did his best work on the left. I guess AI isn't capable of getting one of our lw to do the job on the rw. It's not impossible, is it?

We will probably never have wingers with Salah's goalscoring numbers ever again, but that's fine, all we need now is wingers who can feed Isak and contribute with goals of their own.
His hatred of Mo Salah comes through with every chance he gets, last season being the perfect example.
If we were not going in for Barcola, he would no doubt accuse the club of lacking ambition.

Regardless of whether or not it has worked so far, you can't replace the goals of Mo Salah with another rw.
I do agree we need someone in on the right, but Munoz is apparently comfortable on either wing, Rio could do well there, imo, and also Barcola has played rw too.
All that said, I still think we need a fast and direct left-footed winger. Hopefully we can move Gakpo on for a good fee and move for Rayan.

I mean Carragher probably says a lot of stuff for effect and reaction. It's what he's paid to do. If pudits just said boring things most people agreed with, people wouldn't talk about them.
That said, I'm pretty sure we do need a right winger unless that's where Barcola is going to play.
Gakpo certainly doesn't suit it, Rio isn't good enough and looked completely lost there last night, Chiesa is a squad player, with Frimpong the next option.
Unless there's another outcome of the squad we now have and wingers won't be a thing so much to somehow fit Szobo and Wirtz into the team in attacking positions. Who knows.

The bozo is saying we don't need Barcola now. If we don't get him and we start to struggle, I promise you that he is gonna be back, running his gap again as to how we should have done everything we could to get Barcola.
It's what he does and the receipts are out there.
I would ignore whatever he says cos trust me, he will change his mind as soon as the wind starts blowing in the other direction.
