Games are won and lost in midfield. Sobs a cert to start. Grav has a lot to prove, and we're waiting to see what our own players, who aren't at the level, want to do.

Starting double in midfield, subject to fitness, will be Grav and Nyoni. That's assuming 4231. Macca will be gone or benched. Even if we buy, I doubt they'll go straight in without any pre season with us.
I'd expect Rio, Wirtz, Szob and Isak as the front four.
If Barcola comes in, Rio gets benched.
Defence harder to call without a fit RB, Kerkez's poor form, and Jacquet yet to play. Could be a surprise name or two in the back line for the first few games. Chambers being one.

Ron, I'm surprised the midfield isn't the priority, that's our weakest position by far, I know we need a defender as well but the options in midfield atm don't inspire me.

Overkill Dom said himself he is b2b midfielder and that is how he has been used under AI, and Wirtz has been used in behind the striker. Our front four will be Rio/Munoz, Isak, Barcola and Wirtz.
Grav and Szob will be the two.

Agree, MoT. Szobo and Grav will be the two in the pivot. I don't think Andoni will throw Nyoni straight in, no matter how good his preseason is.
Barcola (if he joins within a week), Wirtz and Rio/Gakpo behind Isak.
