If Barcola is done, we must want to get him in soon as the season starts in 2 weeks. Surely now it’s best for both parties and the player to get it done.

Done or not, he can't start pre season until Monday as every player is required to have 3 weeks off. As long as it is official by Sunday night, it will make no difference.
