Guys, at least we've moved on from our tragic collapse under the watch of Roy the face rubber Poulson, Konchesky etc. Yes, last season was abysmal but I'd take this squad over that era any day. To me, that was even more of a comedown after the Rafa & Stevie days.

That was a long time ago, my guy lol.

Poulsen and Konchesky are quite literally the worst players I have ever seen put on the Liverpool shirt. Oh wait, there's Julian Dicks and Kozma too.

Salif Diao? Aquilani?

22 Aug 2026 10:07:56
Andy Carroll?

22 Aug 2026 10:22:56
Aquilani was a curious case because when he was on the field, there would be touches and flashes that would show you, beyond a doubt, that he was an incredibly classy and talented footballer, but he had all the determination and durability of an uncle that shows up at your Sunday kick about, nonchalantly sprays a few pinpoint passes up the field, never breaks out of a casual jog and then subs himself out of the game after ten minutes.

He never looked like he actually liked playing football, and it didn't help that he was also into Mussolini.

Apparently he's doing a great and innovative job as a coach at Sassuolo now.

Aquilani was injured and never really recovered. He clearly had ability, and you could see the flashes of his quality. He's certainly not in the league of players Roy signed.

22 Aug 2026 10:34:20
Iirc, Aquilani never wanted to be here and he played like he didn't either. Still not the worst signing we've made though.

I think Diouf has to take that crown. Horrible person and terrible footballer. Can't believe we opted to sign him over Anelka.

22 Aug 2026 10:28:15
Sick note (Aquilani) was still class compared to those two and Andy C at least scored a few goals to stick it up teams we despise. Not many, but a few absolute belters - Hello & apologies Blue Ed - FA cup semi final?

22 Aug 2026 11:22:10
Jimmy Carter was awful.

22 Aug 2026 12:20:07
Let's hope our new signings are pumped and give us a boost. I'm just sooo happy we again have a manager whose style syncs with the Liverpool way. Even Rafa was dire at times after the bliss of the 70s & 80s.

I fully love the guy for that CL final & the FA Cup drama vs West Ham. Had £50 on it! But he was so opposed to subs, it drove me near mad. ?

22 Aug 2026 12:26:02
Don't forget Chiesa, who is still here. The worst forward at the club since Sean Dundee.

22 Aug 2026 12:34:58
Nunez. The real Nunez, Antonio Nunez.

22 Aug 2026 12:56:16
Hardly a fair comparison tho. Hodgson had hardly a bean to spend compared to other managers.
