Overall, I saw quite a bit that I liked yesterday. Was very happy with Munoz, Jacquet, and Nyoni when he came on. Also thought Grav played very well when he came on.

I thought Isak looked more involved in this game as well.

I'd like to have had 6 points in the first 2, but I think there are a lot of positives.

I'd like a better squad but that isn't happening either.

Agree with dbav, we waited so long for number 19 - I'm happy to be patient and see what AI can do - so far, lots to be positive about.

Araujo made an exceptional save just seconds in the pitch, otherwise we would have been 3-1 down.
I think we have to try Araujo and Jacquet as a pair. Vvd has been very subpar and he isn't a captain anymore.

Finally a post that cheers. It's been doom and gloom since full time. Iraola is not a magician. Maybe Slots first season has given us some expectations but recall that Klopp handed him a balanced team. He ruined the one he left behind for Iraola.

I'm as frustrated as everyone with regards to the gapping holes in our team that the inept guy isn't addressing as should but performance wise, we were much improved yesterday and the manager clearly needs time to bring these lot up to speed.

Iraola said the fans helped us yesterday and it was time for the team go give the fans something to cheer. He has a plan and I think he's working. Ed01 was right all along about Wirtz. He said the lack of runners was killing his ability. The pass to pick out Munoz for the goal was exquisite. I hope we bring in the much needed signings before deadline and see the back of Hudges. I'm optimistic about the season

With you there, Dbav. After the game, I posted about how I was really encouraged about the overall perf. esp. the second half when we upped the tempo and put way more pressure on them than in the first half where we were a bit hesitant.

We just have to keep working hard with whatever squad we will have and try our best to get Doni his first win, cos the sooner that monkey is off his (our) back(s), the better things will be.

I enjoyed the second half and I thought the balance was much better... I have faith in AI, and I can see improvements in the team already. To be honest, I have enjoyed the first two games of this season far more than any game of last!

We just need to stop giving sift goals away and turn these draws into wins.

Draws will kill our overall league position.

How is a Director of Football leaving going to help us over the next 4 months?
Can't wait to see who people will be blaming then.

Also, 3-4 horrible decisions against us in that game: offside, penalty, time on, substitute and the throw-in.

30 Aug 2026 18:56:05
Personally, I think we are setting a very low bar if we are trying to draw positives from a team that finished 16th last season and, like us, also have a new coach, not to mention that we were also at home.

Irrespective of who the coach is or how new he is, we should certainly be taking care of teams like this. I'm not even going to start about the difference in the quality of the teams, it's there for all to see.

It's barrel scraping stuff this, you're right, Irish. On the bright side, even we can't make Ipswich look good, three points incoming.

Vvd has never been a good captain, last year showed that.

30 Aug 2026 20:29:45
Time to drop Vvd, well past his best now.

Richard is the latest fall guy for FSG Rome. Last year, poor Arne's got blamed for everything. This season's fall guys are the players.
