Hi Ed's, just a quick question. Say we beat Arsenal tomorrow and continue going well and close to the top. Do you think this might make winter transfer window more important. If we are still in all 4 competitions in Jan, I personally think we should try and get a bit of business done, just to bolster the squad.

I know we don't normally shop in this window but it might make sense if we are doing well.

{Ed001's Note - I would expect it to make a difference, but that won't change the difficulty in recruiting top class players in the January window. It is mostly players that are not playing well or at all, that are looking to move in January. So you are taking a bigger risk or paying a premium usually to buy mid-season.}

Still think camara will sign.

Any rumours on the new owners Ed001? Timing of that could determine January/Summer windows

They'll want to make a few statements that's for sure.

{Ed001's Note - not that I know of. They will need to become full owners first. These sales can take a long time.

If the sale does go through is there any plans or chance of increasing the stadium capacity?

{Ed001's Note - there is plans for that anyway, FSG were trying to work with the council on renewing the infrastructure of the area to allow a larger capacity, as we are maxed out as things stand. And that is why they are looking to sell now, as it is going to be a long haul to get it done. Especially now it is not as easy as to drop a brown envelope on blue Joe's desk to get what you want.}

Ecogsi2, this has been discussed many times. As it stands the stadium capacity has been maxed out. The only scope is to develop the Sir Kenny Stand, which would, in the first instance, entail the compulsory purchase of the properties immediately behind the stand.

In addition, to go above the current capacity would also entail a new train station being built to cope with transporting the additional supporters to and from the area. In brief, it's not going to happen any time soon.

Like you say @Rome, it's a wider issue for the community and the need to overhaul community infrastructure, not least in terms of transport. Until recently I would have thought it might not happen in my lifetime but with the possibility of the Bhatia consortium buying out FSG I think the possibility of redevelopment for the area might not be as far fetched.

Rome1997! - this is point. With nearly infinite cash and I would imagine a view to grow the "business" a circa 70000 capacity stadium and regeneration to the area is a no brainer. Not only for the owners but also for council to ride the cash injection?

Would the introduction of the glider buses mean that a new rail station wasn't the hurdle that it may have been in the past? I thought it was seen as a cheaper way around the mass transit ceiling imposed on Anfiels's capacity?

I think an area we are strong in is not over-reacting to the moment. Well, that was until the summer of '25 and we decided we'll live life to the max lol.

Interesting that any increase to capacity is predicated on improved transport links etc, yet such links seem to have been an afterthought for Everton's stadium?

Nah, @Avit, a lot of the lads canoe it to the Everton matches these days and a few of them swim across from Birkenhead.

Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome inbeta.}
