Slot will be sacked in the next 7 days.
LFC will not approach Klopp. Any possibility of his return would have to be instigated by the German.
Alonso remains the 1st choice replacement and if Edwards/ Hughes get any encouragement from Alonso’s agent that a deal can be done then LFC will appoint an interim manager. Gerrard is being seriously considered as a short term appointment, probably joined by a well respected number 2. If the Alonso appointment doesn’t materialise FSG will consider an approach to Nagelsmann.
There is growing support within Anfield for Iraola of Bournemouth. Richard Hughes’ links to Bournemouth have made him aware of a buy out clause for the highly rated manager……
Regardless of the manager situation LFC are determined to land Guehi and a winger in January.
Source? My solicitor told me! He rubs shoulders with other toffs at Hoylake golf club and he seemed quite confident that the information was reliable.
{Ed078's Note - there's nothing more trustworthy than a lawyer and a golfer...:)

And a builder.
27 Nov 2025 21:50:33
Klopp -no chance, Alonso - no chance for a couple of years at least, Stevie me - please NO - Iraola sounds good but surely they won't want to upset BCFC unless said buyout is real.
As someone said earlier, Iraola only marginally more proven than Slot, yet thete is something about Iraola that lends itself to this league,
Alonso's next job after Real is surely LFC so we need a steady hand who knows the league and plays the right kind of football in the meantime.
{Ed001's Note - why would Bristol City be upset about Iraola leaving AFC Bournemouth? Or did you mean Birmingham City?}
27 Nov 2025 21:59:16
Bradford City?
27 Nov 2025 22:06:16
Is your lawyer from Bolton and slightly overweight?
27 Nov 2025 22:13:02
Iraola more proven than Slot?
27 Nov 2025 22:13:28
We’re being linked with Postecoglou tonight. Surely not.
27 Nov 2025 22:35:17
Relax Hugo, and don't believe anything that's not reliably reported on here?.
27 Nov 2025 22:16:10
Sticking Gerrard in charge is no different than sticking with Slot. It means a bottom half of the table finish would be almost guaranteed.
27 Nov 2025 22:18:09
Dunno where the C came from, i forgot that Bournmouth is a village.
Iraola is in his third season in the Prem and has improved each time from memory. Slot had a bounce and then fell off a cliff.
27 Nov 2025 22:39:50
Bournemouth isn’t a village it’s a town ??♂️.
27 Nov 2025 22:47:07
Everyone’s ITK but all with completely different stories. A couple of wins on the trot in the next week and let’s see what happens. I’ve not given up yet on Slot.
{Ed025's Note - i think you may be in the minority there WM..
27 Nov 2025 22:51:32
Bath City FC.
27 Nov 2025 22:56:38
It’s all a bad dream ed025 and I’ll wake up soon. I think that’s where I’m at. Avoiding reality as it’s too painful.
{Ed025's Note - its not a bad dream WM...its a bloody nightmare mate!!!.. :)
27 Nov 2025 22:57:05
We don't get many bounces at this club so im thankful for the one Slot had.
27 Nov 2025 23:04:55
Correct me if I’m wrong but a few weeks ago we had some world class managers waiting for us to phone them according to reports.
Now it’s Gerrard or Postecoglu as an interim.
27 Nov 2025 23:18:42
I agree with WM. I don't believe anyone will get a tune out of that team at the minute so we may as well stick with Slot for now. No defence, no forward line and two decent midfielders. It like playing a Stradivarius with only one string!
28 Nov 2025 06:36:30
VV “having Gerrard will be no different than Slot” you talk some rubbish. You were the cryer all summer saying we shouldn’t Guehi.
28 Nov 2025 07:08:10
If he fails this weekend at West Ham, then I guess that the writing is on the wall for Slot. I think these managers would be a good shout. I don’t think Klopp is a long term target but at stability for the rest of the season. The other options are:
Klopp,
Xavi
Glassner
Zidane/ Ancelotti.
Iraola
Fabregas
Inzaggi.
28 Nov 2025 07:53:32
Frode, it would be no different. Gerrard showed at the top level he wasn’t good enough. His team were badly organised in defence and midfield, they shipped too many cheap goals and they downed tools on him.
He then failed in a farmers league and hasn’t worked since. So it would be the same as the dross we’re seeing now, but with added touch line shouting. Absolutely hopeless manager.
28 Nov 2025 09:25:34
Couple of facts to bear in mind:
Hughes/ Edwards would be choosing the next manager.
Hughes/ Edwards picked Arne Slot over Glasner and Iraola.
28 Nov 2025 09:39:40
I expect Slot to stay in place until the end of season unless we drop into the bottom 3.
If we don't make Champions league he will be gone and if England don't win the Ronaldo World Cup I expect us to appoint Thomas Tuchel.
I call it the Ronaldo World Cup because Fifa are going to make sure that Portugal win it with dodgy ref decisions and even making teams replay Portugal until Portugal win.
Just my conspiracy theory.
