Well I got it wrong yesterday saying that Slot will be here till the end of the season. I know that there is definite interest from Ajax to hire Slot from this summer and it maybe that Slot's head has been turned.
I believe from what Thefields has said that there is a battle going on behind the scenes. My guess is Mike Gordon and Michael Edwards want Slot gone asap, but Billy Hogan and Richard Hughes want him to stay till season end.
Probably why there is a stalemate.
I genuinely think that no matter the result on Wednesday against Galatassary, he will be gone Thursday morning and Gerrard will takeover as Interim with the priority (damage limitation) being finishing in top 4, regardless of the results in the cup competitions and getting LFC playing decent football again.

It's downright depressing that all the relatively easy fixtures were wasted on Slot, and now the interim coach will have to face United, Chelsea, Villa, Palace, and Everton. The remaining 3 are Brentford, Fulham, and Brighton. All challenging fixtures.

Well, surely there is a decision maker. Can't have 4 people agreeing on a decision to be made. There should always be 3, 5, 7, etc., so there is never a stalemate!

Wasted all the relatively easy fixtures on Slot, and now the interim coach will have to face United, Chelsea, Villa, Everton, and Palace. The remaining clubs are Fulham, Brentford, and Brighton. So, 8 proper challenging games for the incoming manager.

If Hogan and Hughes want Slot to stay, even just till the end of season, then they should be shown the door too.

Apologies for repeating my comment. The first one wasn't posted so I had to retype.

If that's the case, it's too many cooks, not enough accountability. They must think they can just dither and that doing nothing is ok, unless, of course, they all accept joint accountability. If so, it's an FSG issue to resolve.

Surely the disagreement isn't about Slot, but getting a short term alternative. While Gerrard is rightly a Liverpool legend, his record in management is not good. So, the question becomes, is it worth a punt.
16 Mar 2026 14:04:57
Jojo, worth a punt? How on earth is it going to get worse? We are heading out of the CL at present, outside the top 4, and have City in the FA Cup. We literally could not be in a worse place right now.

Any views on Rob Page as interim, then get the new manager in, and he goes back to the U21s in the summer. Might be less hassle than Stevie G.

Kpm, that's not the worst shout in the world.

Following on from earlier... What I have been told is that the final decision has been made by Henry & Werner. John W. Henry wants what is best for LFC, and he is a results man with a deep analytical mind.
The decision will be made to pay Arne Slot off with compo, and bring in Steven Gerrard until the end of the season.
Xabi Alonso is waiting in the wings, so to speak, as all the ITKs have confirmed.
Sticking my neck on the line here, but I will be very surprised if Arne Slot is still here for the Brighton game at the weekend.

Agree with KPM, Rob Page would be the better option. ED001 said SG wants the job on a permanent basis. Don't mind him as the interim though.

I hope that's true, AYB. I'm sticking my neck out here also, but I'll say that, due to Slot's utterly mind-boggling refusal (or inability) to make tactical changes, improve intensity and fitness levels, persist with out-of-form players, and put our most influential player consistently out of position, it's almost as tho he wanted the sack to get the pay-off and return home.
It's the only thing that makes sense to me when it comes to this man's commitment to a recipe that has failed over and over again.
