Hi Diddly Ho,
No managerial update from me, just curious who’s smashing F5 for an official club update.
Really thought Wednesday we’d turned a corner and changed our approach to games for the remainder of the season.
Lots of speculation from a few here saying the time has come, but there’s been a lot of smoke around that whenever results haven’t gone well.
I’m curious to see whether it’s Gerrard or another interim or straight to Xabi.
Now some contract bits:
Expect Szoboszlai extension to be announced during the break, but a coach change may delay it. As far as I’m aware, it’s a deal agreed but not signed, that’s just a formality.
Jones is close, apparently Jones hasn’t ever seeker opportunities elsewhere, he’s been fully committed to staying.
Andy Robertson still has a 1+1 club option on the table, no news on what’s happening there.
Again, this is information from a new source that I’m yet to see how reliable they are, but it’s someone my old source is familiar with - this gives me reason to believe and share. And to be honest, this is a rumours site, we have to share anything and everything, right? Even if it’s my mum's uncle's great nephew's mum. But yeah, in all seriousness, all the best fellas. Think we all could do with this international break.
Diddly out.

Good stuff, Robbo. And yes, agreed. Keep sharing.

Im checking every 10mins myself. Gotta be it now.

Time for Jones to find a new club.
Robbo has been one of our best ever buys.
But his time to leave is close.
Need a younger player to rotate with Kerkev.

I think, no matter who it is, it's too little, too late in terms of top 4. Seeing the way results went for us these past couple weeks, only for us to totally blow it, is galling, and I'm starting to really resent Slot.
His terrible tactics, poor man management, and a seemingly controlled decline in fitness have destroyed everything Klopp built, including, and probably most galling of all, the mentality of both players and fans.
Slot, Hughes, and Edwards can all do one for me, ideally bringing Alonso in to give him a massive head start on next season.
Dreamland - Klopp DoF.

Jones isn't and never will be good enough to be a starter. Should be sold in the summer.

*Ned.

Vik, I don't think anybody would argue he's a starter. But he's a good squad player, can fill a number of roles adequately, kind of like Milner, but without the grit, determination, or work rate. This is getting worse the more I argue it.
Basically, it would probably cost you twice as much as what he's worth to bring in somebody of similar experience, and if you bring in somebody of higher quality, they're not going to be happy sitting on the bench.

He's not at all a "good squad player" because he's absolutely hopeless when he sets foot on the pitch. There's not one single thing he is any good at. He can't defend, he can't attack, he's rubbish in possession, he's even worse out of possession, he has no positional sense, has room temperature IQ, and has zero football intelligence.
He's nothing like Milner. Milner was competent, gave 100% and always got stuck in. Jones is not competent and does none of that, a hopeless player who should be moved on.

Chewy, Jones is not a good squad player. He scores once every couple of months. Today he was walking when we were under attack. His time is up. He has not progressed and is below what the club needs. I don't want to say this, because I wanted him to succeed. May I say there are more players that need moving on ASAP.

I have said from the off that our squad is not good enough to play 3 games a week. It lacks intensity and physicality.
Opinions on whether Jones coming on to replace Ekitiki and running around for 80 minutes, passing sideways and backwards without breaking sweat, deserves to be given a new contract or not, sums up my feelings in a nutshell.
Jones is a scouser, blah blah blah. To me, he is an enigma. I look at his attributes and see similar qualities to Jordan Henderson, in that he can run and pass sideways and backwards, but he lacks Jordan's desire and fight.
I remember coming on here and defending Hendo when he was a kid, and saying that the lad gives everything, and I was made up when he started achieving the rewards for his endeavour.
I watch Jones, and I don't see that same fight and desire.
Joe Gomez is the same in some ways, but he also has the unfortunate inability to stay fit.
Andy Robertson's age has caught up with him.
Chiesa has fight and desire, but his body has never recovered from the ACL injury six years ago.
At this present time, these 4 players are being asked to come on to the pitch and change the outcome of a game.
I am not blaming these players for our season, by the way. I am just saying that they are not good enough to consistently perform to the standards we need.
Paisley would have got rid of these 4 players last summer, based on what they showed last season.

If you watched Jones yesterday, he does sweet f.a and it's the same.
All over the place, but I wouldn't give him a new contract. Nyoni should be given his minutes, can't be any worse.

Vik, Outright saying he can't do anything is a ridiculous claim. He plays for a top tier team, you don't get that far by luck. Clearly, you're sharing an overtly biased and highly exaggerated opinion, as opposed to a fair analysis. I'll admit I've had many a gripe with Jones and his decision making at times. I think there's much the kid needs to improve on, but he still has plenty of potential for improvement. All you have to do is look at a highlight reel of him to see he has the ability.
He's shown flashes of brilliance and scored a few crackers, but he lacks consistency. He's clearly frustrated under Slot. It's a poor season to judge him on. It would have been nice to see him develop further, given the talk about him as he came through the ranks, but I do believe a new manager could get a better tune out of him, and bring some much needed consistency to his performances. If he's still here next year under a new manager, and performances haven't improved, I'll happily admit I was wrong.
