Feyenoord coach Etienne Reijnen confirmed to be leaving for a job abroad. Liverpool is expected to be his destination, as things stand.
According to Rotterdam sources.
Pretty much sums up that Slot isn't going anywhere.
17 May 2026 11:32:03
Hopefully he's leaving to be second to Slot at Ajax.
17 May 2026 11:34:05
And like that we're back to 2014/15.
Dutch Sean O'Driscoll.
17 May 2026 11:34:32
If he doesn't end up here it should be a clear sign Slot is finished as well then.
17 May 2026 11:40:19
I don't think it means anything. Slot can't be in charge next season given the toxicity.
17 May 2026 11:42:01
Or rather Sjon Van Der Driscjal.
17 May 2026 11:49:20
It would seem that way, but I can't see Slot surviving now, big decisions will be made in the next 2 weeks, I imagine.
17 May 2026 12:01:48
Slot has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he has what it takes to manage and improve a high level team.
His communications are like a moody teenager, and he is so self focused it is ridiculous.
If the owners can't see that, they will feel it next year when subscriptions drop and there are empty seats.
Dom is yet to sign also.
17 May 2026 12:02:36
Big decision should have been made yesterday, but we lurch from crisis to crisis with Slot.
17 May 2026 12:10:36
Dutch Sean O' Driscoll. ?
17 May 2026 12:36:42
There's no way Slot can be staying after what's happened with Mo's post and fans leaving messages on all the official club social media. Can we just keep a calm head and wait to see what transpires? For me, I feel like Edwards and Hughes have done a huge disservice to everybody.
The longer this goes on, the more they're leaving the man they hand-picked out to dry, and be the object of hatred and contempt. Now all of this threatens to overshadow Mo and Robbo's goodbye at Anfield.
17 May 2026 12:50:10
You know what would really overshadow their goodbye next week, Patrick? A repeat of the drubbing we got on Friday night, which at this point is very plausible given Slot's absolute unmitigated incompetence.
The only chance to prevent it being toxic is sacking Slot immediately and not bringing in more of his clowns.
17 May 2026 12:57:10
I think things have spiralled far beyond Slot's control now, with all the stuff spilling out. I don't really see the point harping on about how useless he is anymore. He doesn't have a hold on the situation to right the ship. Let's just hope there's a speedy resolution.
17 May 2026 13:06:39
Only way he goes is the fans making it even more obvious, from minute 1 of the game.
17 May 2026 13:09:22
I would be totally dumb founded if Slot was kept on. That would astound me.
17 May 2026 13:10:44
Part of his job is to manage the players. If the players are coming out with statements like that then, put simply, he hasn’t managed them or has their respect.
It’s a results business. The results have been s**** (the only real stat that matters).
He inspires f*** all. Simple as that.
17 May 2026 13:14:06
This is Rogers 2.0. FSG have learned absolutely nothing from their past mistakes. This is infuriating.
17 May 2026 13:18:43
FSG are sticking with Slot for three reasons, according to journalist Ben Jacobs: the decline in form of Salah, the significant squad changes after a huge transfer spend, and the tragic death of Diogo Jota.
17 May 2026 13:24:27
Completely agree, Vik. Final day of the season is going to be very interesting indeed. There's a lot on the line, for a number of teams. Qualification should have been weeks ago so we could send our legends off in style, who shouldn't even be leaving, might I add, and wouldn't be if it wasn't for Slop.
Patrik, nobody's left your old pal out to dry. He's a grown man, he made his own (incredibly poor) decisions, he's been found out as a coach and it's all his own doing. Edwards and Hughes share responsibility, but for different aspects of what's gone wrong at the club, and will get their comeuppance in due course. I don't see the point in trying to get people to stop expressing their disgust at the situation, yet here you are, trying to quell a storm.
17 May 2026 13:30:16
I think Arne will go. But, "if" this guy is leaving for a job abroad, I'd be amazed if it wasn't us.
17 May 2026 13:36:10
If we need a win for Champs League n get hammered by Brentford, then I can see the crowd really show everyone what they really think. They'll sing their hearts out for Salah n Robbo, but will sing just as loudly to get Slot out.
17 May 2026 13:48:47
Viktor, the owners are never going to sack a manager with one game left to go.
17 May 2026 13:51:21
We aren't going to know anything until the season ends, and if the Mike Gordon rumours are true, he has done a review at the end of the season.
I still think Slot goes.
17 May 2026 14:16:20
It will be interesting to see who, if anyone, from FSG will be at the match next week.
17 May 2026 14:34:42
Unfortunately, this guy has been linked with us for a while. If he's leaving to take up another post, it's likely to be us. No new coach would be taking him, so this points to Arne staying. The directors haven't factored in the fans, though, if that's the case, as the fans won't be having it.
17 May 2026 14:35:05
Anyone with a pair of eyes could see Slot was a gonna from October. We stuck around and paid the price.
Carrick is not a good manager, but United did the smartest thing they did in years and hired him as, frankly, anyone was better than Amorim.
New manager bounce, followed by better vibes, has got them CL football. We stuck with Slot and are suffering for it.
17 May 2026 14:48:49
Don't know how smart it is to hire someone who's not a good manager. Results have improved at Utd, but actually think a lot of the performances are worse than under Amorim. Things have gone for them, like that horrendous decision earlier.
Delighted Carrick got the job. Chelsea Spurs did similar and look what happened. If a manager change happened at Lfc, I would hope it was someone of a higher calibre than Carrick coming in.
17 May 2026 16:35:44
Slot has purchased a bar in Ibiza & Reijnen is good at mixing cocktails.
17 May 2026 16:51:58
Hessle, if the one game remaining was absolutely important to the finances for the club (ie Champions League football), then sacking a man who lost or drawn more matches than he's won, shown absolutely no capacity to change things on and off the pitch, who has lost the squad and supporters, and whose incompetence may cost the club Champions League football and the revenue that comes with it, then sacking him is the right option.
As another home defeat could be disastrous.
