My understanding is that a deal would need to be completed for Mbaye in order for Liverpool to sanction Cody Gakpos exit.

Mbaye seems like an opportunistic signing. Heard a couple of clubs had a fee agreed and swooped in to match it so we didn't get hit with the Premier League tax. Like the Munoz deal.

I’d have to disagree, sn11188… I don’t think enough options have been explored.
I’ve just watched a few highlights… Looks decent.
But I’ll repeat; we risk copying Chelsea; lots of talent, no leadership.
Rio, Munoz, and Mbaye could definitely become superstars.
And Barcola too.
Yet, with Salah and Robertson leaving this summer, and Henderson, Milner etc in seasons past, we’ve yet to replace them.
Also, £50M for an 18 y/o… (yet similar for Munoz)… Market’s gone crazy.

Mbaye's minutes as a striker are closer to his at LW than his LW minutes are to RW - he is right footed, and we do not have any left footed forwards in the squad, (barring Elliot but I don't think he's a forward nor do I think he will be in the squad come start of the season).
Mbaye most definitely is a right winger though. I quite like the idea of a right footed RW who wants to get to the by-line, especially with Isak's movement in the box (reading that back is like a brain teaser).
