Any truth that we want Mason Mount?

{Ed002's Note - Whilst another club have asked after Mount I am not aware of any approach to Chelsea for Mount. Chelsea are looking to a new contract.}

If he was that mediocre Chelsea wouldn't be looking to extend his contract.

Ed001 what’s your thoughts on Mount I think his a very good player and would suit are midfield well works hard and has an eye for goal but I would rather have Maddison from Leicester who would be a lot easier and cheaper to get.
Not that I think we are getting any of them but it’s not even been a week and the World Cup has not started yet and I am all ready missing the premier league.

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear Flash, no amount of Klopp hugs will turn Mount into a top class midfielder and for the price they would quote we could do far better.

As for the question “would Chelsea extend his contract if he was mediocre”. Well yes, to protect his apparent value in case some team was fool enough to make an offer, case in point was they’ve previously extended Kepa’s contract and we all know how poor he is. In the same way we offered Keita a contract renewal.

VVVV your passive opinions are pathetically over generalised. Chelsea are in a poor run of form currently, hence him not setting the world a light. But I recall during the more fruitful Tuchel days him being a class act and he caused numerous problems on the pitch. The fact you’re comparing him to Keita is nonsensical. Moreover is he better than the majority of our current midfield options? Without a doubt.

I’d take Mount all day long top player. I don’t think it would happen but still a very good young player and in my opinion far better than Maddison.

Personally I wouldn’t want Maddison or Mount. Maddison has a shocking reputation. Mount just isn’t all that good and describing him as average is being fair. The way some of you boys are talking it’s as if he’s the second coming of Souness when in reality is more likely to be the second coming of Paul Stewart. Just don’t see the fuss, he’s poor defensively, positional sense is non existent and aside from the odd goal here or there doesn’t really offer much. He’s not better than anyone currently at the club bar Keita, Ox or Jones and that’s not saying much. Hopefully he stays at Todd Boehly’s flying circus.

VVVV are we talking about the same Mason Mount that got 11 goals and 10 assist last year? granted this year he hasn't been at his best but he is a fantastic player, runs his body into the ground for his team and has the quality to put the ball on a plate or in the back of the net. if he is up for sale or whatever Liverpool would be stupid not to get involved would be brilliant for us.

I’m with Ed 1 mount is a fantastic player I’d go as far to say everytime we play Chelsea recently if we keep mount quiet we keep Chelsea quiet that’s how important to that team he is . He will sign another contract their I’m sure of it as I don’t think they are that daft to let him run it down.

He doesn’t suit our midfield.

It’s been 13 months since his last injury. We need more consistency with our midfielders and physio room than what Mount can offer.

More real than mount or Henderson ed025. Hendo is ending his years and is our captain and for me plays a totally different game to Mount. whenever I’ve seen Mount which is not often he plays an attacking role and scores goals more like Elliot. Hence I’d see the comparison on whether to buy Mount more with Elliot. I could have it completely wrong though ed025. I usually do mate.

VVVV only sees the flaws in people, never the potential. Mount is a fine player and I think would do well with Klopp. He also looks like the kind of personality that would respond well to Klopp's management style.

Mount is so mediocre that since his debut every manager at Chelsea he's had, 57 at last count, has consistently picked him. These professionals clearly know nothing when it comes to players. I'm surprised more on here aren't coaches at top clubs.

Mount is a quality player and always puts 100% effort in when he's on the pitch, would love him in a red shirt, he has exactly the drive and determination to be a great addition to our midfield.

Well I wish for a Thiago Rice Mount midfield. That's a prem winning midfield. Have hendo fabs come on when needed with rotation needed also.

I would take Mount any day, he would solve a lot of our issue. Very good player imo.
