Hi Ed001, Pep Ljinders gone from being fan favorite of replacing Klopp to replacing him in summer. He looks like Brendon Rodgers to me who don't adopt and believes whatever he does is best. He won't succeed with Klopp I guess. He need someone who can put him in place every time he acts smart.

{Ed001's Note - the problem Lijnders has is that he wrote a book to cash in on things going well and it has coincided with the form dropping off a cliff. He has taken all the credit for how well it went, pretty much, so what can you expect when things go badly? You have to be big enough to accept the blame too. Klopp is in overall control, so the ultimate blame lies with him for not changing Lijnders or for allowing him too much leeway. However, Klopp is a different animal and shares the credit for success, usually trying to give it all to others. It is never him talking about what he won, it is always 'we' with Klopp. The team is everything to him, and he includes everyone at the club, whether they clean the toilets, make the tea, coach the players or play the matches. For him it is a team game and the team wins and loses together. That is why Klopp deserves our backing to sort this out, even if the fault ultimately is his.

He is not perfect. But he is right for our club. Liverpool has always been about the team. He gets it. He may not win everything every season, but he is the best fit for our club and gives us the best chance to remain Liverpool in spirit as well as name.}

Wow ed01, your insight into the character (Klopp) deepens my love for him. What a man! Most treasured post I have read from you. Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I love Klopp and seeing his pain right now hurts as much as, if not more, than the actual defeats.}

Spot on Ed1, we need to back Klopp, he has earned that right and he understands and respects what Liverpool is all about.

Everyone can see that injuries have had a serious impact to us this season and that the midfield does need a rebuild, and on the latter, i would rather wait for the right players than take unnecessary risks and buy right now on someone who is available but who ultimately may not be right! The only other thing that worries me is the potential change in approach/ tactics, which if is the case has clearly not worked. But, i trust Klopp to put that right, particularly when he has the full resources available.

Stay with the team and continue to believe. It will pay dividends.

YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - I know Klopp has always said that the fans should not chant for him, but I agree totally with the calls to sing his name loud and proud throughout the rest of the season to show the fans are behind him.}

Here's a topic for all to discuss as we see more and more teams being fined by the FA for failing to control thier players when surrounding referees why do t the referees just grow a set and just yellow card the players in question.

Well said ed1. No doubt klopp the man for us, I really do hope he gets great reception at next home game, he deserves it.
As regards lynders I don't think our bad form is all on him, I think at a big club like liverpool people always try and get a scapegoat when things going wrong, trent 1st, fab next, salah contract, lynders book etc etc. Utd was the same fred 1st, maguire next.
Where lynders has done the harm for himself is the book and with it coininciding our downturn he's took it all on himself. Write the book when he's finished in the club.

what was evident from the start, nobody believes the team could have done a repeat of last season. everyone is just so burned out. the morale os and was incredibely low. not really an "excuse" but it's just how it is. it will be rebuilt.

people don't like to hear it, but FSG model made sure that if we fall, we can be buikt back up. even though it was not perfect.

it's easy to forget from where we came from.

Arsenal have the vigour and fair play to them. Man Utd is seemingly refreshed yet still making same mistakes. Chelsea is in fortune limbo with no identity.

NOBODY had the continuity like us that was needed to compete with City, and still doesn't.

Times are tough, but there is a lot to build on.

Hopefully Klopp and the team pull some results because I have no faith in the match day fans sustaining their support for him.

Lijnders talks way too much, whether it's in a book or in the media. I think he irritates people (he irritates me anyway) . When that happens people will be much quicker to point fingers at you when something goes wrong.

I didn’t like Lijnders before it was cool to not like him.

It all started with the change made on the right hand side in 20/ 21 that saw our best wide player, Trent, tuck in and the ageing Hendo play further forward. We tried to copy City without buying the personnel to do it and here we are now.

Klopp will and should take the blame of course. He’s in charge and accountable.

{Ed001's Note - I think everyone complained about that chance. No one likes it and it certainly made us less effective imo.}

I completely agree about Klopp, Ed001. I don't know anything about Lijnders so I can't really comment on him.

Thanks for this Ed1 ?

I'm sure like me, many of us needed to hear/ read your words regarding Klopp

He is the best thing that has happened to us in over a generation, and we need to remember that

He is the one to lift us out of this current mess!

{Ed001's Note - let's face it, if he wasn't our manager right now and we were looking for one to come in, he would be the one we would all want.}

Klopp is a generational leader. He's the best and only person for the Liverpool job and we are the best club for him.

He has his flaws, some of which happen to be his strengths too.

Adding some fresh new voices/ talent around him is what he and the club needs right now.

Great words ed1. Klopp is a huge character and definitely the man for the job. let's hope we get the ownership sorted ASAP and they back klopp. Love klopp. I'm so glad Jurgen is a red! YNWA.

Great words, my dear ED01. I said it once before. Lijnders is taking profiting from and using his position as an assistant to Klopp to enhance his image via the hard earned clout Klopp has earned thru out his career. And you are right too. Klopp never takes all the credit for himself cos he said it himself in his first presser when he was asked about the so called Transfer Committee, "Im not a genius so I need others around me and their input". Same with his Dortmund bros Kravietz and Buvac. He gave them a lot of credit for his successes at BVB cos it's all family with him.

Lijnders seems to love the limelight and talks way too much for an assistant coach. Never heard an assistant coach talk as much or thrive on the media exposure as much as he does BUT it is what it is. He is the direct opposite to Klopp, in a sense. For me, Lijnders can be easily replaced. Klopp can NOT. We need to support him now more than ever before. Regardless of result, we need our Kloppo back.

The time my dislike Ljinders originated was in the touch line fracas with Lampard, when he was Chelsea manager.

I know tempers were flared, and this can happen during high profile games (Conte and Tuchel) but Ljinders was far too gobby and Klopp had to actively calm him down. Instead of Ljinders just going “yes, boss” and sitting down. Klopp has to remonstrate with him before he stopped.

Not a great example to set to the youngsters on the bench from our assistant coach. Luckily it was during lockdown and there were no fans in attendance.
