According to the daily fail, asensio would prefer a move to ac Milan as he would get more game time but they can't match his wages. Is there anything new on this one eds and where do you see him ending up? I would like to add him to the squad personally.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new that I am aware of.}

21 Jun 2022 06:46:21
Hi eds, with the rumour arsenal are favourites to sign Raphina, do you see us looking to sign him? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Raphina (RW) Deco is working with his old club Barcelona to see through the transfer. The issue is that Leeds want a single cash payment of around €60M but Barcelona cannot achieve that at this point in time. Deco will offer him elsewhere but will ask for a "Barcelona" get out clause - one club has already rejected that. PSG were looking to Raphinha as one of their list of potential Di Maria replacements. The interest to Bayern Munich has gone. Interest of Liverpool would only be as an option to replace Salah and again they have not spoken with Leeds as Salah will be looking to rund down his contract. Chelsea have watched Raphinha as they are looking to change wide players but an offer seems unlikely unless the request for the clause is removed. Arsenal and Spurs have both been approached by Deco and Arsenal have spoken to Leeds as they have a pressing need to add a wide player. Leeds will look to resist but if a really good offer were made from any leading club then the player would likely be interested in a move. The player very much wants Barcelona.}

1.) 21 Jun 2022 10:52:20
We wouldn’t agree to any such clause so I think that’s our interest gone. Shame as he’s a good player and we have Minimino who they have interest in, but unless he looses his demands to have a Barcelona clause in his deal I think he’s limiting himself and we would look to others.

2.) 21 Jun 2022 12:17:50
Thank you for the clarification ed002. Hope you're doing well.

3.) 21 Jun 2022 13:45:16
Exactly he has his heart set on Barcelona so is totally out of the question he obviously does not want to push himself to achieve all that he can. He has the ability but seems to want the easy life which has surprised me I thought he had some grit and ambition in him. Oh well we use Salah for his last year and maybe try and give Gordon league cup games FA cup matches to get some game time. If he isn’t going to make the grade we look next summer no problem. I worry will Salah play as poorly as last season or will a rest do him good and he gets the golden boot? I think it’s time for the club to try and raise some money now through sales. So big season for youth with Ramsey Gordon Morton Elliot Jones Carvalho all giving us hope for the future I hope they can avoid injury and contribute to another great season.

4.) 21 Jun 2022 14:57:37
That football writers and PFA Player of the Year did play poorly last season alright.

5.) 21 Jun 2022 16:30:52
Incredible. The man is his team's highest goal scorer, wins the Golden Boot, wins the PFA Player of the Year and he "played poorly".

6.) 21 Jun 2022 17:00:14
Great to see you back Ed002, you’re valued input is far greater desired and respected than the dross some idiots choose to spout from time to time. What is the massive attraction to Barcelona these days? They are very far from the team they once were.

05 Jun 2022 17:26:30
Darwin Nunez rumours seem to be gathering pace. Saying he would prefer to move to us rather than united. Anything changed eds? I know you said don't hold your breath few sources saying we are interested. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing new I am aware of.}

1.) 05 Jun 2022 22:23:10
Another transfer blow we can't afford "RAPHINHA", so Jurgen is going to settle for a "RIBENA" instead!

2.) 05 Jun 2022 22:29:07
Gathering pace? Does that mean you have to read them faster?

3.) 05 Jun 2022 22:41:57
Marty, can’t you fire up the DeLorean and go and find out?

4.) 05 Jun 2022 23:17:02
Will LFC be in the mix for Bale 33 this July, hasn't got a club now, is there an extra year in his legs, he certainly still has game sense and big game experience, could be a useful addition in his latter years similar to what role Milner has performed.

Real Madrid are in talks to sign Gabriel Slonina an 18 year old Polish Goalkeeper who plays for Chicago Fire, already rated the number goalkeeper in America for £8.5 million, i would have thought FSG who are based in America could perhaps of done this deal behind closed doors, and sent him to Jurgen as a complete surprise package, as a reward and goodwill gesture for Jurgen having a successful season once again, every little bit helps?

He ain't going to get much game time there for a very long
time, considering who he has to replace at the Bernabeu.

5.) 05 Jun 2022 23:06:47
Highly appreciated for always share your thoughts and updates Eds. However, is Christian Pulisic also one of player that we are interesting in Eds?
Thanks Eds.

6.) 06 Jun 2022 00:11:35
Gareth Bale? Lmfao! You mean Gareth “I hate Liverpool” Bale? That one? That would be a terrible decision.

7.) 06 Jun 2022 07:00:00
Whilst gareth bale still undoubtedly has great ability there’s been very little evidence in the last 4 seasons he can play consistently at a high level. He only played about 5hrs of football this season for Madrid, for wales yesterday he was largely poor bar his free kick that got deflected in. I’m sure his wages wouldn’t be cheap. I’d rather see them spent on a younger player for the future or just used to top up Salahs wages and keep him.

8.) 06 Jun 2022 07:01:22
What VVVV said. Come on everyone knows what he said about the club and city. There’s more chance of him playing at non league level than there is for us, even if we wanted him, which thank Christ I would bet my house that we do not, and rightly so.

9.) 06 Jun 2022 07:29:07
Huge no to Bale, can't stand him. I was cheering for Ukraine yesterday. He is not a nice person. There's a reason is not very well liked by anyone outside of Wales.

10.) 06 Jun 2022 13:25:00
Marty McFly

“He’s not a nice person”, you know him personally do you? Get a grip.

Glad you supported Ukraine, we know you English lot are worried we’ll top the group again.

11.) 12 Jun 2022 07:03:55
Sorry stand, you're on the wrong page mate. I know there is not a lot going on in your world but keep walking mate. You've got the Europa to look forward to mate. And Bale is a top bell! Or as the Spanish refer to him. parasite ?.

29 May 2022 18:34:40
I assume complete nonsense but kane seems to keep getting mentioned online a lot. surely a no eds? Would cost upwards of a 100 million and couldn't see spurs letting him go to us?

{Ed002's Note - I am not ware of Liverpool showing any interest in Kane.}

1.) 29 May 2022 20:29:01
FSG know they need to spend big and dig deep into their pockets, as it may never get better than it is now.
Kane isn't any better at scoring in finals, but IF he was bought and accepted by the fans, surely he would elevate us. His link up play is phenomenal.

2.) 29 May 2022 20:35:41
It would be funny watching him getting subbed after 25 mins 'cos he's absolutely knackered.
Great player, but not what we need and waaaaaay overpriced.

3.) 29 May 2022 21:21:34
“I am not ware of Liverpool showing any interest in Kane”

Those are very comforting words Ed. I feel very relieved that it’s untrue.

4.) 30 May 2022 00:47:33
VVVV, we should frame this one - I totally agree with you.

5.) 30 May 2022 01:42:38
Dembele is absolute quality when he's on it. But w his history a huge risk. Gets his head on and stays fit he'd be some player.

6.) 30 May 2022 03:55:32
Jonathan David should be as one of Sadio Mane's replacement option that we are looking for. An inside forward player that also can play as a striker.

7.) 30 May 2022 07:18:46
Red flyer, where is the evidence that Dembele is top quality?

He’s only had two relatively half decent seasons in his career, at Rennes and Dortmund and then done absolutely nothing for five seasons, he has chronic injury issues which are only going to get worse and he’s looking for a long term contract on wages at a similar level to Salah’s.

If we sign him (and hopefully it’s just a dumb rumour punted out by his “entourage”), we’re lumbered with him in the treatment room for the length of his contract as his injury issues will continue to plague him and there’s no one out there fool enough to then want to buy a sick note off of us.

8.) 30 May 2022 09:25:05
If you read the posts Ed2 has already confirmed we have been speaking with the club etc last week or week before about Dembele. Get used to it VVVV he’s of interest.

11 May 2022 16:01:11
Tchouameni, lots of sources saying we want the lad and are favourites to sign him. I know you said no bid yet eds but has anything changed? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/CM) Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea have a declared an interest in the player and have held discussions with Monaco. However, after signing Zakaria and being close to signing another midfield player, Juventus can now be discounted as they look to other lower-price midfield options to cover departures, with Monaco's financial demands being seen as significant. Real Madrid opted for Camavinga last summer and have yet to realistically exploit him - and they will concentrate on other priorities but cannot be discounted as Casemiro might leave in the summer - but again, they are smarting at the asking price and have asked Monaco to consider a deposit to secure him for a transfer next summer at an increased price. Monaco see that as a loan to buy and it does not suit them. The interest from Anceslotti to have both players in his midfield has to be balanced against other transfers, and there is a good chance he may not be coach next season. Real Madrid would almost certainly look to also including one or more players in any deal - and they may opt to push for Pogba instead - but don't discount them PSG need to make significant changes to their aging midfield and have spoken with his agent, although not yet Monaco. Again, I would not discount them but they have others in mind as well. Chelsea had a creative solution in mind that would suit both clubs and will likely push for a deal. I would not rule them out. Manchester City have a list of potential Fernandinho replacements, including Tchouameni. Other clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have looked at him and spoken with his agent, but have not declared an interest to Monaco or they have preferred midfield targets at this time. Monaco have told clubs that they are not looking to sell for less than €100M but realistically it will be less than that. For Liverpool it would be a pretty much like-for-like replacement for Fabinho in midfield - but they are not looking to move him on and whilst speaking with his agent, have not spoken to Monaco just yet. Barcelona would be priced out of a deal unless players would be taken in exchange as they have other plans for their money this coming summer. It is difficult to imagine any side paying the asking price. Monaco have said they won't accept a player exchange but the player has made it clear wants to move to Real Madrid but that may not be possible for cash.}

1.) 11 May 2022 17:19:17
Fantastically detailed info. Thanks.

2.) 11 May 2022 17:32:13
Thanks ed2. Appreciate it.

3.) 11 May 2022 17:43:40
Has anybody seen him play? Who is he similar to?

4.) 11 May 2022 18:32:52
Physically he reminds me of Pogba with the tall lanky frame and deceptive slow stride. Tackling he reminds me of Fabinho; loves to tackle from the side or behind. Drives the ball forward like Hendo and Thiago with accurate long passes. Your standard box to box midfielder. I'd like to see him fill out that frame more, because the EPL is a physically demanding league to play in.

5.) 11 May 2022 21:08:50
To my mind he’s the perfect midfielder for how we play, he works hard, passes well, presses, tackles and will only keep getting better.

6.) 12 May 2022 05:59:28
Whilst he would provide back up for Fabinho, i don't believe that he is being bought for that purpose. A player with that talent is not coming in to sit on the bench, on the contrary he is being brought in to be a starter. It is Hendo and Naby's places who are under threat from this lad. The fact that he can play as DM is a bonus.

7.) 12 May 2022 09:52:21
Spaceman? Are you saying naby has a place? Only place he has is on the transfer market mate.

8.) 12 May 2022 11:57:57
From the point of view of back-up for (key) players we really don’t have anybody to cover for Fabs for an extended period. Apart from Fabs the nearest we have to a fit for DM is Tyler Morton, who is still a good way off being ready.

If the front five remain I’d say a DM (even if it’s a back-up player is a priority for us.

9.) 12 May 2022 12:29:57
He would play with Fab, not in place of.

10.) 12 May 2022 12:38:43
I hope Klopp insisted on an above average spend for his final years from FSG. If they want to keep abreast with City, who could go up another level once Shrek arrives, we need to be seriously on point in the TM.

11.) 12 May 2022 14:11:46
Tchouameni is more than just a defensive midfielder as he’s also capable of playing box to box. I think he’d be perfect for us as he puts a shift in defensively and has a very good range of passing.

12.) 12 May 2022 19:35:34
And can bang in a few long rangers too. He is ideal to the total football style Klopp demands.

13.) 13 May 2022 03:18:52
@Lancaster Red, what even if Fabs was injured? Which was the point I was making.

14.) 13 May 2022 10:08:50
He is one of the most combative midfielders around, able to marry high athletism (defending intensity, 80 out of 99) with good timing and match reading intelligence (ball recoveries and interceptions, 85 out of 99).
His high scores in aerial duels quantity and defending impact suggest he is not only a busy holding midfielder but a successful one too.
Tchouameni can contribute strongly to his team’s attack and make late arrivals into the penalty area and score goals (that’s all the good scores in blue) .
Tchouameni is a talented off-the-ball defender and a promising in-possession passer. Plus, he has an eye for a goal. He is as close to the “do a bit of everything” midfield archetype that former United players talk about in the modern game. He is unlikely to stay that way forever but he is young enough, and with enough promise in multiple subjects, to suggest he can be any type of midfield player that he chooses to be.

15.) 13 May 2022 12:53:21
@WD no i was replying to the suggestion he would be a like for like replacement for Fab from the Ed's Info, think he would be a powerhouse in our midfield and the exact opposite of Keita, who i can't bare to see in the Reds line up next year.

16.) 13 May 2022 13:08:29
Never seen the lad play but if everything said on here about him. sounds perfect to me.

I needed cheering up this morning, so popped over to the united page ???? it's depressing over there. What a time to be alive lads.

1.) 12 Jun 2022 09:36:32
Just got to have a Sunday morning gander at that then!

2.) 12 Jun 2022 10:02:58
Not football related but there’s a funny video clip on BBC Sport website from the second cricket test when a New Zealand big hit 6 goes right in a big lad’s pint in the crowd.
His face, lmao. Made me chuckle all day yesterday.

3.) 12 Jun 2022 10:54:16
Class the back and forth Ed 14 (I think, the Arsenal Ed) had with them. They are very much though where we were years ago, just looking forward to next season hoping for it to be better

We had decades of that though lol, so I'd be happy if their current plight continues- I'm a Liverpool fan in a family of Man Utd fans growing up so you can picture the abuse I got growing up. Born in 1980 so really only started following Liverpool when I was about 9 or 10 so got to see all of the Utd success and our decline first hand fs.

30 May 2022 20:14:05
I'm predicting that we are going to sign Nunez. If we go in for him I'm sure he will choose us.

1.) 30 May 2022 20:34:40
If only Marty if only.

2.) 30 May 2022 20:51:59
Live in hope Marty.

3.) 30 May 2022 20:52:40
A premonition or have you been back to the future?

4.) 30 May 2022 21:28:51
OP, not having a go BUT how many times have you seen Nunez play? I have only seen him play twice against us hence, not enuff for me to judge him on. Can you describe his qualities and how you think he’s good enuff for us?

5.) 30 May 2022 21:32:09
Like we can afford his fee op. We will be looking to buy a young up and coming potential player to turn into class. That’s the way we normally do it.

6.) 30 May 2022 21:46:23
Hes off to Utd.

7.) 30 May 2022 22:12:50
Think in the past if the player is right we will play.

Diaz was manes replacement, lfc will buy a number a 9 nunez fits the bill, young and can operate across the front 3.

Boy can finish, is young enough to adapt and evolve. Good on the ball and has some flair, not for me to say he's what we need or want.

8.) 30 May 2022 22:41:53
Saw him play two champions league games against Barcelona and Ajax (as well as the games against us) and he looked a good player, power, pace and skill, exactly what you want in a modern centre forward, the common theme was that he was a nuisance in all of them.

Make no mistake he’s going to be a top player. If at 22 he’s not a young, up and coming star then I don’t know who is. Looking at all names being bandied about, he’s the one we should be going for. None of this Kane/ Lewandowski/ Dembele nonsense.

9.) 30 May 2022 23:06:38
Not to mention he's a good looking boy like klopp said.

Once he's in we take him, Ali, Trent, Elliot and bobby and we head on tour. Forget Man City. We re taking you down One Direction!

First hit is a callaboration with Calvin Harris.

10.) 31 May 2022 00:11:38
Harry Kane is better than Nunez and still only 28. How is that nonsense?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not shown any interest in Kane.}

11.) 31 May 2022 00:52:52
Lads come on with the Kane stuff. He is simply not happening. 2 years left. He ll cost an absolute fortune and we are not exactly in the good books with spurs who got champions league and are trying to push on. Him and Son are complete non runners for us.

{Ed0666's Note - exactly

12.) 31 May 2022 01:08:45
I get you, 002, but he wouldn't be a nonsense signing because of his age, depending on the fee, of course.
VVVV is saying he would be. I don't know what Kane would cost- the same as I don't know what Nunez would cost- but he's a better player than Nunez.
Kane is 28 and would score 20 League goals a season for us for a few seasons at least.
Nunez might and for a longer period but he wouldn't cost much less than Kane, would he?
I'm not saying we should pay £150m for Kane, I'm saying he's better than Nunez.

{Ed002's Note - So you don't have a question then.}

13.) 31 May 2022 06:20:11
Vvvv you would say no to Lewi? Are you alright. He's not gunna be here for 5+ years but he's one of the best forwards in the world right now. As a defender, who would you bunch up against? Salah? Diaz? Lewi?

14.) 31 May 2022 08:17:20
We won’t be signing Nunez or Kane.

15.) 31 May 2022 09:19:32
No, no question, Ed.
I'm saying Kane is a very good player and I've seen very little of Nunez. I can't see us signing either of them but a Kane type player- there are not many of them around- would certainly do a job for us.

16.) 31 May 2022 16:14:24
Lewa > Kane > Nunez. Age is merely a number. I doubt Nunez will ever be as good as Lewa mid 30s or otherwise. Lewandowski has been the best 9 in the world for the last few years even when Messi and Ronaldo were at their peak. Nunez is a very good player but he won't be in the top 3 players in the world imo.

10 May 2022 22:03:54
That was a very close call. just glad we found a way to win. Personally I'd drop salah for Saturday. Thoughts? Mane is on fire and is the main man. I'd rather go all out to retain him than salah. Sell salah and buy nunez.

1.) 11 May 2022 03:56:53
Salah cost us the game against Spurts with his poor decision making and eyes on the golden boot. But can't drop him. He can hit form at any time. Resting him tonight was a good call. But the longer the season goes on the less and less he looks like the player of the season. I'd give it to Virgil or Robbo.

30 Apr 2022 07:00:55
Who on here is planning on going to Paris IF we get to the final? We should all meet up for a pint or 2? Be an epic trip. I'm going to drive it I reckon.

1.) 30 Apr 2022 07:17:53
Ahh nice one Marty can you pick me up and I'll cover the tolls👍😁.

2.) 30 Apr 2022 07:34:18
I've looked into it but don't dare book until we are through.

3.) 30 Apr 2022 09:03:37
I’ve booked it. 😂 blame Jurgan, he’s turned me into a believer. Probably get screwed in the ticket ballot like I do every Final but yes I’ll be up for meeting the reds should we Qualify.

4.) 30 Apr 2022 10:42:47
My mate booked when the quarter finals were drawn. Though it bring in Paris would be a great experience yo watch a final and tell ya what, Liverpool are doing there damned best to get there for him lol.

The tickets are hard to get, him and his brother have both applied but he's everything else all booked - would honestly love Liverpool to win it, not just as a fan but cos he'll be there to see it too.

5.) 30 Apr 2022 12:26:19
I've booked my flights to Liverpool! Don't know where around the city would be best to watch it yet tho. any suggestions?

6.) 30 Apr 2022 15:34:05
Bmeana did you forget to ask me😐.

7.) 30 Apr 2022 16:24:40
Checked the price of a very average hotel on booking. com. 4.5 k! I don't think so. Disgraceful.

8.) 30 Apr 2022 19:32:14
Sod that then I refuse to stay in any hotel that’s less than 5k a night 🙄.

9.) 30 Apr 2022 20:33:04
Ashy I got a hotel near beauvais Airport for £200 Thursday to Sunday. (Only reserved so don't feel like I have jinxed it 😂) Just the small matter of getting to said hotel now.

10.) 30 Apr 2022 22:38:16
Anyone gong to Wembley?

{Ed025's Note - im not lol..

11.) 30 Apr 2022 23:06:08
Haha, was going to buy you a couple of pints 25 mate 😃.

{Ed025's Note - you can do that when you are in the city drogie and we are away to wigan.. :)

12 Apr 2022 07:24:28
I hate to say it but I can't see us winning the league. I think City will win all their remaining games. Most of those teams will roll over as usual. I think we will win the champions league though. I'm praying I'm wrong of course but just can't see it personally.

1.) 12 Apr 2022 08:27:36
Do teams roll over or are City just a very good side. We’ve only beaten them once in the last 9 games so does that mean we rolled over.

We’re a top quality side but it doesn’t mean we can’t give credit where credit is due. Whoever wins the league this season be it City or us will have thoroughly have deserved it.

{Ed001's Note - can it not be both? That's how it seems to me, City are a very good side but some teams do roll over for them because of that.}

2.) 12 Apr 2022 08:31:05
I have just asked my dear old mum for a message, she says City will lose 0-1 at West Ham, winning all their other games and the only points we drop are in a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham. Can someone do the maths?

3.) 12 Apr 2022 08:42:47
GD will decide.

4.) 12 Apr 2022 08:43:20
Jack could be an Origiiiiiiiiiiiii last minute winner.

5.) 12 Apr 2022 08:50:59
Ed001 I think it can be both mate. And I’d imagine some rival fans probably believe teams roll over for us when we are at it and we steam roll teams.

I just think teams have no idea how to play City and the only option is to park the bus and hit them on the break and hope that they are clinical with a couple of the chances they get abs City are wasteful with the chances they have.

A few seasons ago teams did it to us and simply parked the bus which was extremely frustrating but our high line now actually encourages teams to come and have a go at us which in return stops them parking the bus so much against us.

All we can do is win our remaining 7 league games and hope that one of City’s 7 opponents feel like they have something to play for and catch them on that break.

{Ed001's Note - if teams have no idea, then they should sack their coaching staff immediately as the way to beat them has been shown many times. It is certainly not sitting back and inviting them on.}

6.) 12 Apr 2022 08:58:16
If you look at city’s run in, most of the teams are bottom half, we still have United, Everton and Spurs. Now everyone will laugh and say “ Everton and United “? But believe me, them lot will fo everything they can to stop us.

I’m usually pretty positive but for me, we needed to win on Sunday.

If I’m proved wrong, I’ll strip off and run around this site naked 😂.

7.) 12 Apr 2022 09:17:20
I've not read such downbeat nonsense for a long time. Tottenham and Crystal Palace have shown that Man City have their vulnerabilities. To declare everything over is premature. I personally feel they'll drop 5 more points this season. I'm not sure how we'll do because my vision becomes tainted by my love of Liverpool. I have a romantic vision that it goes down to the wire and as we beat Wolves on the final day of the season, Stevie G's Aston Villa beat Man City to hand us the title. Here's to hope.

8.) 12 Apr 2022 09:25:57
Funnily enough the average place of the teams we face is 11th and theirs is 12th so the indifference isn't huge. We play 2 p. poor teams at home then Newcastle away. Newcastle aren't in a relegation fight anymore so it shouldn't be an issue. City have west ham away and if they are still I'm contention for top 4 they'll fight hard. We shall see but the quad is still on. I rememeber the days the only 4 we were fighting for was 4th.

I'll go over to the United page to cheer myself up lol.

9.) 12 Apr 2022 09:30:48
Ed001 what is the way to beat them?

{Ed001's Note - you have to suffocate them, swarm them and treat it like you are a lower league team facing a big Prem team in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Under pressure they struggle, particularly Ederson, who can't kick under pressure and gets rash.}

10.) 12 Apr 2022 09:39:44
I'm different Drogie. I can't explain it but the one that's concerning me is Southampton. But I do see why you're concerned about Everton and Man United. To be fair tho we done them both over pretty convincingly at their own grounds. Spurs are obviously the stand out team but they are hit and miss. Midweek is massive for City. Atletico aren't having a great season and I can see them kicking lumps out of city.

11.) 12 Apr 2022 09:52:08
@Drogie, why does winning or drawing the game against City, impact the scores in matches two or three weeks later?

About two months ago the situation was that we needed to win as many games as possible and City had to drop points - nothing’s changed and won’t for the remainder of the season.

We need to concentrate on the Benfica match and make sure we qualify for the CL semi.

12.) 12 Apr 2022 10:11:22
I noticed at times on Sunday our full backs, particularly Robbo were quite narrow and seemed to let the wide player stay out wide alone. O don't know if this was deliberate or if they were expecting cover but I think they need to tighten up a bit this weekend.

13.) 12 Apr 2022 10:23:10
Nothing negative, nothing downbeat - it’s a matter of opinion based on what I think might happen and I don’t think city will drop many, if any points, certainly not 5 lol. Looking at their fixtures, the only game I potentially see them dropping a point is West Ham.

14.) 12 Apr 2022 10:49:35
City are a fantastic side and we are a point behind them. That's how good we are.
When we were beating City by suffocating them our midfield and Firmino had more legs.
We are better up top and at the back but our midfield has dropped in intensity, I think.
If we can defend better and create and take our chances we can beat them. That might be too late for the league but don't be too downhearted because we are the only side to challenge them to this stage.
I'm proud of that.

15.) 12 Apr 2022 11:20:04
Ed 001 I wonder if teams feel the need to do what your propose
It’s after all just a PL game and 3 pts. If they are not desperate for the points, just play it out and if they get anything it’s a bonus
Might not agree with this mindset but it seems that’s how it is, why fight like mad dogs for a game and get knackered, they get to play them again in a few months vs lower league teams where this is a once off chance to cause an upset and be in the headlines even if they get knocked out the next round

And too bad, Ederson found his kicking boots in time to not let in a v soft own goal.

{Ed001's Note - you are right unless they are desperate.for points they save their legs for the easier games.}

16.) 12 Apr 2022 12:18:43
For me City have three big games left, leeds, wolves and west ham. Leeds by that point will probably be safe and be at home in an evening kick off. They are one of the sides who have no fear and could cause them problems. And elland road will be bouncing if they are safe by that point. A complete free hit for leeds. Add to that it could be after a CL Semi and that isn't as straight forward as people think!

Wolves are solid and have taken points of them before, again it is away from home so no means a walk in the park.

West Ham are not an easy team to play either and may need to win to keep their place in europe.

Yes we have banana skins too, but hopefully Mahrez miss come the end of the season is looked at the same way has Dembeles for Barca. You should of killed us off when you had the chance!

Personally I think the CL will play a huge part in the destination of the title, I don't think pep has won it in ten years. And still gets called the best, he needs to get that monkey of his back and will be eager to do so and cement his legacy at City. After all that was a big reason he was brought in.

17.) 12 Apr 2022 12:41:19
@West Derby - as you know it’s all about confidence and that draw at keeping them top gives City a massive psychological boost.

18.) 12 Apr 2022 12:43:54
Drogie, we will win. And you will, out of sympathy for our sanity, keep your clothes on. 😉😁.

19.) 12 Apr 2022 12:51:43
Keeping aside Mahrez miss, we should have beaten Leicester and Steve Bruce Newcastle and this debate wouldn’t be happening here. Drawing games has always been our issue. We bottled 10 points leage two years ago drawing far too many games and has happened again.

20.) 12 Apr 2022 13:49:00
Harry, I have to diagree, teams drop points for various reasons throughout a season. Silly mistakes, decisions that can go for or against you, bad luck i. e. deflection. Injuries and when you play certain teams are all factors which have to be taken into account.

Leagues have been won on 86, 87 and 81 points respectively before that's as many as 33 points dropped. the difference is every small mistakes are amplified by two teams who have the ability to be near perfect.

City have dropped points to Palace, Spurs and Southampton this year. So could use the same excuse. These are all games which on paper they should of won. Fortunately football isn't played on paper.

21.) 12 Apr 2022 14:29:29
Ed, hope you're well mate but on subject I agree. What really does my head in is so many teams in this league won't attack city. They're a bloody great side and so they should be but their keeepr and defence really aren't that special, if attacked they will always crumble under pressure. they are all about attack attack attack so when they finally get attacked they concede, they aren't used to it. Too many afraid teams for me, back in the day this wouldn't of been the case, for Christ sake give it to them if every team they faced actually went for it and didn't play for the draw they'd of lost plenty this season. We'd of been way ahead in the race.

22.) 12 Apr 2022 14:40:26
Haha - ArAy, reckon at least one of the Ed’s would give me a ban, so I’ll take you’re advice mate 😃.

23.) 12 Apr 2022 17:14:38
I don't know why anyone even bothers to argue with Harry, he's literally made up this draw against Newcastle and keeps banging on about how we're going to lose the league title because of that.

{Ed0666's Note - The midday kick off is just gonna add to his conspiracy theory 😂

24.) 12 Apr 2022 17:39:01
Well Harry yes we can blame ourselves for the draws
But if the difference is 1 point, couldn’t it have been the no handball but mike Riley apologies to Everton for a handball not given against City that may have made the difference? 😏.

25.) 12 Apr 2022 20:36:10
Spot on, WY Red. Can someone please tell me how logical it is to think that we were down and out while being potentially 14 points behind and YET still believe we are down and out after clawing the lead back to just one point? That is a logic that maybe the OP can can explain cos I l don’t get it.

The media were telling us that they couldn’t see where City would drop points while at the same time, they were DROPPING points to teams they should have beaten. Again, I don’t get it. People may be disappointed cos we didn’t win on Sun (don’t know how one can be that disappointed based on the way the game played out) but this is not the time to throw in the towel.

I say, Get behind mad the boys and let’s bring this baby home cos nobody thought we would be here in Jan yet here we are. City bottled an 8 point lead yet we throw in the towel? Not me. I’m in it till the end.

Well said WDW. We are not playing hardball but we are trying to get as much as possible for a player the same as any club would do. Why is it different when it's us? I don't buy this rubbish that we have p. ed people off etc. You want the player? Pay up. We owe mane nothing. You think he's played for free? Come on, grow up. It's business. As has been said many times, BM know what they need to do. pay up. If not, shut up.

There is no bullying from me. I voiced an opinion that most of his posts are garbage, and they are. That said, I don't condone any form of bullying. It's just frustrating to read the posts from a 'supporter'

{Ed014's Note - telling a grown man (allegedly) to grow up isn’t bullying. There’s a simple need by posters to be a decent human being and not an arse.

Harry, I'm sorry but your posts are pure garbage. Every post makes me cringe. You're not a supporter of my club.

I can imagine there are a lot of idiots but ed2 99 percent of us are sound. I'd hope. I'd say the nucleus of the site is decent but there does seem to be a lot of new names all of a sudden and maybe they cause a spot of bother. I hope you can try and ignore the idiots. I just don't get it ed14. Literally zero point, it's like dealing with 14 year olds.

{Ed014's Note - I know Marty, it drives me nuts, we have them on the Arsenal page and they just create new sign offs to simply be an arse!

The trouble is it gets nasty with abuse you don’t see then Sharkey rightly thinks, why do I or should I bother.
