So good to see some of our better players training again. Especially Virgil and Firmino. Feeling much more positive about Mondays game. Just need to drop TAA and start Milner and let’s not concede in the first 5 minutes

Milner is a bigger liability than Trent by far. McNeil will absolutely destroy him for pace.

If Trent got dropped Ramsay should play there. I'm sick to the back teeth of players in positions they can't do. Milner just doesn't have the pace to defend against wingers anymore. His last 2 appearances there he was booked for a late lunge on Mitoma and again for a late lunge on Mudryk. Start him in a fiery derby against the pace of McNeil and he'll probably be sent off.

I really don't understand why people think he makes us solid. He's the worst player in the squad now by some distance. At best a mid table Championship player. Age catches up to even the best players. Milner was never a player with great positioning or technical ability. What set him apart was his energy and tenacity. He's lost the energy and now he's just a hatchet man who swears at officials over correct decisions.

Try telling that to Foden.

On a plus note I’ve just secured my son a ticket for Everton, Real and Wolves games.

And we’ve never lost a game he’s been to. We actually won them all.

Yes he’s only been to 4 games but he assures me that he has to go because the team need to win and he’s lucky.

JK
Get this site to club together and we will get him to every match

We need him!

Let’s hope so JK. We have to remember we are only half way through this season if we can somehow get going there is still loads to play for. I live in hope of a 1-0 win and then we kick on.

The cauldron of a Merseyside Derby is no place for a kid to be making his debut, MK. And I'm with you, Mark, about Foden. No matter, I'm 99% sure Trent will start on Monday.

Milner is a bigger liability than Trent? Jesus mk milly is in his twilight years and will play any where and give every thing!
Trent his mr cool thinks he’s the dogs and strolls around the pitch he’s no tempo! He can kick a ball that’s about it!
He can’t defend for peanuts and sooner the club get a rb to push him the better!
Lay off milner he can’t prevent his age but gives 100% I’d be keeping him over Keita ox Jones melo!

10 Feb 2023 10:57:25
Some of the fans would have Milner playing when he’s drawing his pension . Half of the problem with this club, too much sentiment shown to players who should be moved on. I’m not saying he hasn’t been a great player for us but he’s unfortunately part of the problem now.

9.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 10:58:59
You'd keep him over three players who are leaving on frees/ end of loan come the end of the season? Praise indeed!

10.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 10:37:32
I am also 99% sure Trent starts rb. I would just play Milner for 60 minutes in midfield, win the battle. It’s backs against the wall time. The players need to stand up and be counted so I would also play Hendo for 60 minutes.

Gakpo on the bench and Elliot LW, get the English lads in for the derby. We have to match or better them in terms of desire. After 60 minutes makes the changes and win the game.

11.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 11:24:20
Pegleg, I am just talking about 60 mirin a derby game. Not one senior midfielder is playing well but we have to pick someone. Milner is more reliable than the rest. I know that’s a crazy statement but at this moment in time we are really struggling with form and confidence.

12.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 11:32:09
I'm not having a pop at Milner per se. I'm just stating the facts. He is old, he is slow, he does get booked when he faces pace, and he does go mental at officials often over correct decisions. Last thing we need in a derby is a player off the pace, guaranteed a booking and riling up the officials. I love Milner. Liverpool legend for what he's done and won. But his times up at this level. One good game against an over rated Foden doesn't change that. That's just my opinion like. If people disagree then fair. I'm not saying Trent is playing well but he's still better than Milner. And i agree this is the wrong game to throw in Ramsay, i'm just frustrated we signed a dud and let 2 better youth players in Williams and Bradley go. So Trent has to play for me.

13.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 11:42:02
I get what you’re saying mark and I agree to a certain extent, however I’d rather we have the kids a chance. See who’s got it, we’re playing crap. Seasons over in my opinion so let’s see what kids can cut it and see if we can intergrate them into the team next season.

14.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 11:55:11
I am not against that all Peg and if this season doesn’t get turned around in the next 3 games then it’s time for more youngsters, definitely.

15.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 12:18:46
Seriously MK? Usain Bolt would destroy Milner for pace but like McNeil he's crap at football.

16.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 12:29:17
Mcneil is not fast.

17.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 12:30:23
Mk. A hatchet man in midfield is exactly what we need Monday, start of game anyway, even if milner only played 1st half.
Milner not near good enough for midfield against a good team but everton aren't great.

18.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 13:01:39
Start Milner? Do you know anything about football at all? He’s finished at top level, and the fact he’s still getting regular appearances is one of the reasons why we’re in the position we are.

19.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 13:55:29
Bookies odds for monday liverpool 1/ 2 home win (my selection)

Everton away win? 11/ 2

The draw 10/ 3 that's with paddy power.

20.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 14:06:24
First off, Milner has never had pace so that really doesn't matter. I think Milner is probably faster (or close to it) than Trent so not sure it really matters anyway. Second, how many big games, derbies, etc has Milner been in over his career? I think he knows how to handle these situations by now - sure he'll get a card but maybe that's what we need. Someone with some passion and bite left in them. He can't go a full 90 but when he's in there he'll give 100% unlike a lot of the team right now. Not saying he should start, but don't get the concern.

21.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 14:06:29
Lots of our side might me finished at the top level Redmersey. So in the first half who do you want to play midfield in the derby? No good just saying you don’t want Milner without saying who you do want.

22.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 14:20:46
You would have lost a lot of money backing Liverpool at short prices this season 007. There’s no value in backing us atm. Wait for an upturn in form first.

23.) 10 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 15:08:27
“Drop Trent for Milner”. OP, you’ve really outdone yourself this time.

24.) 11 Feb 2023
10 Feb 2023 23:19:04
I think it’s a bit disrespectful to say Milner only ever had energy and tenacity MK. You don’t have the career he’s had with the clubs he’s been at and all the varying positions he’s played without having a very good understanding of the game and a lot of technical ability.
Milly might be getting on a bit now but one thing you can guarantee is he will give you 100% every single time he crosses that white line. We need players like him to show the others that any less than 100% is not good enough and he’s not scared to tell them that either.
Not sure I’d put in at RB because teams would target him and isolate him against their quickest players but they always have done that even when he was 6 years younger and playing LB.
I certainly wouldn’t be against him playing in the midfield against Everton though.

25.) 11 Feb 2023
11 Feb 2023 00:08:30
What does it matter who plays at RB or midfield on Monday. We have been underperforming all season at home and away.

We will have the same players available with none of our injured mob ready for the Derby, so unless there is a massive improvement all round, we will get nothing from the game.

They will fight like hell, and we won't because we have forgotten how to. We have a defence that can't defend, a midfield that can't compete, and a forward line that can't score.

It's the situation right now that whoever we play, there's no confidence in us winning, so I can't see that changing just yet.

26.) 11 Feb 2023
11 Feb 2023 02:47:44
Last thing we need from derby is casual joggers on the pitch. So no TAA for me. I would start Gomez at rub.

27.) 11 Feb 2023
11 Feb 2023 07:29:04
Beckers, i never said that's all he had. You've not even misinterpreted, you've literally just made up a false quote. I clearly said that is what set him apart. It was what put him in the position to mix it up with players superior to him technically and tactically.

He's just not at this level anymore though now his physicality is dwindling. That's not me being harsh that's just my saying it as I see it, and not letting sentiment interfere with my opinion. Of course he'll have the odd good game. He's still a professional footballer. But on overall balance he is (in my opinion) the weakest link on the pitch most times he plays. It happened to Ronaldo even so it's no slight on Milner's career to accept he's gotten old.

28.) 11 Feb 2023
11 Feb 2023 07:33:51
Everyone laying into Milner, the man barely plays and when he does they’re bit part appearances. He works hard and he’s a good squad player. Yet, when F$G are criticised they’re the best thing since sliced bread. Ridiculous.
